Is it just me or is "Died Suddenly" being replaced with "battle with a short illness"?
🗣️ DISCUSSION 💬
Last 3 obits I've seen have had variations of "short illness" or "sudden illness" as they try to de-amplify "died suddenly."
Anyone else seeing this?
Brief illness seems to be the newest I'm seeing
Yes. And also "died unexpectedly." They want to get rid of that trending, triggering word "suddenly," even though it's all the same thing.
Mock them with their terminology until they run out of euphemisms. Make "died of "brief illness" go viral.
Died after a short illness is what killed Raquel Welch today.
To be fair, she was 82 so it's not unheard of.
There used to generally be an explanation or cause of death, even at 82. Like pneumonia or a heart attack or fell down the stairs. “Brief” and “suddenly” are not causes of death.
Yup they are desperate to change up the linguistics so sheep won't notice.
we need to meme tf out of this, so every time they claim "brief illness" it backfires.
also, start demanding to know more about this "brief illness", like, what its name is,
and most importantly, is there a vaccine available that we can recommend to the left.
Is there a brief vaccine? Do they put a little bit of weakened brief into a needle?
And they don't mention the baffled doctors either.
She died suddenly after a brief illness following a COVID booster. doctors baffled.
Doctors muzzled.
We need an "I can't Brief" meme
You don't get any iller than a sudden death.
But it could have been worse....
Haven't noticed in particular, but that's due to my schedule - I believe it since many of you are confirming.
My honest question, which has niggled at me since the start, is why "they" used "died suddenly" in the first place. It's such a tidy, easy to exploit phrase.
If we're to believe Patriots Are Now In Control (and I do), perhaps this shift is another aspect of "The Noticing" normies and normie adjacents are meant to go through.
We've noticed this kind of doublethink, manipulative behavior for years, in almost everything written. Feels like if "they" pull back on, hide, and manipulate the term "died suddenly" now, it's because "they're " being forced to. It had a lot of traction with normies.

Well, these little rhetorical tricks they use do seem to work on people until they are memed into defeat. I’m not sure people even picked up on “died suddenly” right away, but only after the repetition and the highlighting pointed it out. There are probably other rhetorical tricks they are using on us right now that we haven’t even noticed yet. It’s a weird thing about effective rhetoric that it is often only obvious once it’s identified.
And honestly, that’s been going on more than just the last few weeks or months. I’ve noticed it for a while, but it’s probably a little more commonplace. Before the Covid vaccine, I can’t recall seeing such a phrase so commonly used. Very rarely did people die “aggressively”, if you will.
it's been on their terms for over a year now.
I've noticed that as well. Also here in NJ, there are radio commercials now advising people they need to get vaxxed again, and are calling vax injury symptoms long covid.
"untimely death" is another one to look for...
Replaced by the skies and water.
I was thinking the same thing…
One of those yer referring to is Raquel Welch, and she was 82...I would exclude that one from yer analysis...
It’s not the age, but the lack of explanation. They used to be legally required to assert a cause of death. All of this “briefly” and “suddenly” and “unexpectedly” and “untimely” SOUND very official to people, but they are NOT causes.
It is quite vague, agreed...
Yes, I've definitely seen that in obituaries recently. I'm always checking them to see if things like that are mentioned or if there are young people who have "died suddenly." Upticks in both.
That and sudden illness
i suppose short illness sound better than dying from a short needle....
I just read Raquel Welch's wiki which says "..died after a short illness" and I thought exactly the same.
