Multiple NHL teams have opted out of 'Pride Night' jerseys, as resistance grows despite media pressure
The San Jose Sharks' James Reimer became the second player in two months to publicly opt out of wearing a "Pride"-themed warm-up jersey, joining the Philadelphia Flyers' Ivan Provorov, who also cited his Christian beliefs as the reason not to participate.B...
Good. 'Pride' should have been over 30 years ago.
We were decriminalised. Straights lightened up towards us. That was perfectly enough.
Exactly. And this cultural willingness of Americans to live and let live was used against us as a weapon to create division, fear and hate.
Today those tolerant Americans have been pushed beyond all reason and have hardened their stances. There will be a backlash. It is inevitable. And those deviants that are now held up by the pedo death cults minions as honorable and praiseworthy will suffer along with those who are innocent.
The pendulum always swings back. A lesson that humanity has yet to embrace.
I know. It's such a shame for me because it was so easily avoidable. But I guess the Marxist cancer had already metastasised and was just waiting for the trap (OBASTURD) to be sprung.
The pedo death cult pushed the gay and lesbian agenda so far past reasonable limits, forcing the rest of us to not only accept the lifestyle but to 'bend the knee' towards it, for an overarching goal of normalizing pedophilia, cannibalism, sexual ambiguity and hedonism, sex with animals, satanic ritual and perhaps, ultimately, necrophilia. The game plan and pattern of normalization is well documented.
Bend the knee? That was nothing. Yesterday after showering in the gym. 2 guys walked in. It's a free for all into women's showers. And that goes for the kids showers in schools. Someone pass the laws to protect their innocence because most schools now have cameras....cameras and free access into shower rooms.
Well, hello fellow teammate. 😂 For me the worst part about it is they separate us into a specialty group versus letting us live our lives. For years and years and years the gays just wanted to be normal and be included in every day life. Then as soon as they were, they wanted to be special and different outside of normal life. Except for military and veterans (etc), nobody needs a special shirt day for their group or a month for their group or all that garbage. I hate that I get treated differently because of the way the gays act. If someone mentions having a kid, another person might say “how old is your son” and the first person replies with “oh it’s my daughter and she’s eight” and then the other person says “oh OK that’s nice”. If I say “I am married” and someone says “Oh tell me about your wife” and I respond “Actually I have a husband” then before I can start telling the person about him the other person jumps in with “I’m so sorry that I made an assumption I guess I shouldn’t make assumptions like that”. And so I will reply with “don’t apologize I’m not that type of gay”. I don’t get how having people walk on eggshells around us afraid to say something wrong is where we really want to be as a group. When Jesus said we should love one another it seemed pretty straightforward. I don’t remember the part about singling everybody out as different and dwelling on those differences.
Hahaha. No. But I should add that to my response list!
Just like with race, just like with sex. Pushing too hard ends up with a negative result.
People didn't care if you were gay. Sure they might disagree with you, sure they might give you funny looks, but most people could still talk to you despite disagreeing and side with you.
We've actually been seeing a slow death of the notion, "I don't agree with you but I'll defend your right to say it" type stuff because of how hard they're pushing.
By design? Probably. They want us divided.
But it's sad. I think one of the straws that really broke the camel's back was the bakery politely refusing business at their own peril (because it's just good business to do business) and then being straight up cancelled and dragged through the mud.
I think that hit a lot of folks hard, because it was a direct statement that if you don't agree with them, you are a bad person who deserves to be criminalized for your beliefs..and that is not acceptable.
It’s like the classic Rush song, Subdivisions: “Be cool or be cast out”
Being proud of defining yourself by your aberrant sexual behavior tells you everything you need to know about a person. Talk to any decent person about their identity and they'll tell you something meaningful about themselves. Talk to anyone you'd actually want to be about their identity: "I'm the guy who discovered [x]", "I'm the lady who built [y] company", "I've worked 30 years as a [z] and done a lot of good for my community", "I'm [n] ethnicity, one of the last of my people. I volunteer time at schools and museums teaching my language and culture so my people will not be forgotten."
All of those are identities in which to take pride, and there are countless others. But saying "I like to get my rocks off in a different way than you do" isn't one of them. When you reduce yourself to your sexual behavior, you're the one trivializing yourself. That goes for anyone, gay or straight.
It's too useful as a political tool for them to let it go. Guilt-based coercion is a rich vein to mine. Goad a few weaklings into it and other weaklings will follow.
Right? On what planet do protests need to continue out of celebration? Only if the protest hasn't reached its final form.
lol at the last tweet on the article: goalkeeper who doesn't want to wear that sharks jersey gets a "publicly known homophobe" on his wiki page.
fucking badge of honor, that.
Homophobe: a made up mental illness, that was made up by people who are actually mentally ill.
They survived SIDS, but the damage was still done.
The issue is tolerance over celebration. I can be tolerant of someone’s life choices and/or sexual preferences but don’t make me celebrate it. That’s where “Pride” went wrong and now I expect backlash will put it back in its place.
Yes. They wielded tolerance as a weapon and warped its intentions.
Interestingly if they had gone JUST UP TO the gay marriage, they probably would have had a political victory in this game of civilization.
By forcing everyone to continue celebrate it under threat of unpersoning, imprisonment, financial penalties or costing them their job, they automatically turn the truly tolerant against them.
Celebration is what happens once evil is "tolerated"
Good!. Piss off those who demand our affirmation of their political and social stance! Take those jerseys and shove them right up those activists asses, ... oh wait...
Good for them! Draw a line and hold it! I think I'm going to start watching hockey again
In the end they will have done so much damage by pushing there agenda on people it will backfire horribly down the road.
Lol NHL viewers aren't woke so this will 100% be fine.
They think they can push their ideologies on everyone by forcing people to celebrate their lifestyle. Christians know this is not to be celebrated.
You have the legal right to do what you want, as an adult, with another adult, in this country. That's all this country owes you.
yeah! skroo the media... they represent only a slight minority...
This is how they are hoping to indoctrinate "red neck" type men. I was at a game that had indigenous appreciation night recently. Seriously who fucking cares.
Pride. The worst of the 7 deadliest sins.

If I remember right a lot of it stems from russia's stance on it, namely that families of players are afraid that by wearing them either they or their teammates' families may be in danger. Even ovechkin, a guy who may be the best russian hockey player ever (at least in the nhl), has veheemently refused.
Had a discussion over this topic in last Sunday's Bible School class in church. Glad the goalie stood up for himself and his religious beliefs. Also glad the organization didn't reprimand the goalie for his personal religious beliefs. This says a lot coming out of Comifornia. Tides seem to be turning.
Declare Ps 94 daily; God's word is powerful for bringing down strongholds.
Oh the fucking irony.
Loved Reimer when he was a leaf when I was watching. Glad provorov and him are refusing this
