I expect that in a way Trump has duped them into projecting their own crimes onto him. Now he has the exact precedent he needs to bring the real criminals to justice.
I feel like Trump was the final piece of the puzzle for the WH to be in control and all the accusations against him were allowed (how do you introduce evidence into an investigation legally) to break the ice so to speak. The fact that Biden was doing all the things they were accusing Trump of doing puts me further into this thought.

Biden is on video bragging about the Ukraine quid pro quo stuff AND the phone calls, numerous phone calls, between him and their president discussing this are out. Not sure where to find them at this point because they were taken off of YouTube but I'm sure they're elsewhere.
