It is most likely silver nitrate cream used to prevent newborn eye infections. Somewhat controversial (what isn’t?) but very common practice.
Eye stuff? White lashes? They are all towheads They do put salve on their eyes. Ever seen a newborn before they are washed up? They are all weird looking skin
I think they do when they are fresh out of the womb.

I don’t know how to knit and only know basic crochet, but my husband and I have made patchwork quilts and pillows to match for every Grandbaby so far and will be doing one for him as well.
I draw design, we shop for material together, my husband measures and cuts and pins materials and hands them to me to sew. I suck at math so he handles that part.
