they can't be forced to work harder or longer. they can't be underpaid. they just have to spend their day doing tasks which aren't productive to the company.
Those appeals to guilt are ridiculous. It is a civil protest that forces them to complain to their managers and report that it is disliked, or the company/store goes broke.
It sucks for the workers it affects, but it sucks for the cultural decay more to have the store doing this

Oh, so by bringing $5k worth of merch to the counter and vanishing, the merch also vanishes? Or does someone get stuck putting all that shit back? Because Corporate expects that merchandise back on the shelf. Corporate doesn't suffer from these pranks, the people who work in those stores do.

Corporate secured their line of credit with the megabanks who are the ones who are truly pushing this bullshit. Punishing the people who work there accomplishes nothing. And with luck, maybe a few employees figure out even more creative ways to stick it to tha man, and shove their woke bullshit right back up their asses, where it belongs.

It took 30 minutes to load and check out. Nobody could buy during that time. 3 hours to tag and restock. Nobody could buy during this time
Employees are expected and paid to stay busy all day long. Making employees work restocking shelves, is not exactly punishment.
I hope their is a line of people waiting for the shelves to be stocked so they can make them do it again.
