Because Carter went into hospice three months ago and still hasn’t kicked the bucket.
They cued Carter’s death up as a delay tactic, and whatever they were expecting still hasn’t hit the airwaves.

True, you don't go to hospice to set up a 3 month stay
See: Ginsburg, Ruth Bader
Yep. Carter is a tough old bird.
Does anyone go to hospice nowadays? Only experience I've had is hospice comes to the nursing home. And, like others have said here, our most recent family death we were told she had days, maybe just hours to live. She lived for another three months and was in hospice care at her nursing home.
Yes. My mom had cancer (not vaxx), she lived alone at her home. My brother would take her to the chemo appointments. The tumors were shrinking, but it was too much for her 80 year old body. She wanted to discontinue treatment.
She was put on hospice (2021). My brother, sister, and I did her care by taking shifts so some one was with her 24x7. She was at her home. A nurse came in once a week to check vitals and an aide came in 2-3 times during the week to help with showers, etc. Pallative care only.
We did 3 months at her home like this. After that, my sister took her into her home full time. Nurse visits increased to 2 then 3 times per week.
Mom passed about 2.5 months later.
The entire time was considered "hospice". If she would have gotten strong enough to be fully on her own again, she would have lost the hospice status (hospital bed, commode, wheel chair, provided for home use; nurse visits at home, etc.) Evaluation for this status is every 6-12 months.
Many times if the person does not have someone avaiable or willing to care for them, hospice is done at a nursing home or care facility.
I'm sorry for your loss but it was wonderful for your mom that you all could keep her at home. Ours was already in a nursing home when they found the cancer. I absolutely believe it was the vax, which we tried to convince her not to get. She had a stroke shortly after getting it. They called us before Christmas and said the cancer had been found and was already beyond treatment. They expected her to die within hours. She hung on for three months. Hospice was throughout those months at the nursing home.
I am sorry for your loss as well. Take care, fren.
Mom made it 4 months in hospice so were close.
We laugh about that several times a week. When Momma got sick, they told us that death MUST be imminent before they (Hospice) would do anything.
Just like the queen!
The dude is almost 100 years old, he's had a full life, good for him. But it's not what I would call "big news", not that the media won't try to string it along to give Biden a break in the news cycle.
It’s the state funeral that comes when he officially leaves this planet that matters.

The big news is he has been in hospice for 3 months and he's still alive !
When you are put on Hospice the Dr. only expects the person to live no more than 6 months. This is required by insurance companies. My Mom lived 10 months after.
Do you mean he did not die or he was making a joke?
Yes. I did not realize that a person could go on and off of hospice until we were dealing with hospice for my mom. See above.
Sorry for your loss.
To both of you as well❤
Wow that's pretty impressive. Good for him. His sense of humor and tenacity must've helped him graduate
The wife was a hospice RN for many years. Some of them hang on a long time. It all depends on whether the greedy ass doctor released them to hospice early, or kept on hanging on bleeding them dry to the last minute.
Envelopes at Carter’s funeral too?
Maybe, but they will probably have something like Cracker Barrel coupons in them.
Got to milk the aliens dry first.
Que hospice deep state corpse # xxx.
Also another trump arrest? Don't they announce these when they need a distraction.
Not enough people care about Carter for it to be any kind of distraction.
Nobody really cared about GHWB either, but the state funeral served its purpose
It actually doesn't matter what the people think. The media will run with the state funeral like they did with the missing Malaysian plane, or a big enough shooting, or a hurricane/tornado/flood in a poor minority area.
The NPCs will play along with anything the media tells them to care about.
Wow, good take on that. I bet you're correct! Thanks!
Moar envelopes
Carter was POTUS when the embassy was taken and the hostages dragged on for years. So, he may last that long.
