He forgot to mention that people who don't have accounts can't see content anymore also. When before we could see posts & share them but not comment on them.
I really don't understand this. What does scraping data and system manipulation mean in terms of Twitter? How do you limit reading a post? I mean, does that include replies? This is confusing for me.🤓 I don't have an account there as mine is still permanently suspended.
No human is going to read that much. This is to combat entities that constantly monitor the pulse of the dialog in order to manipulate it. Marketing groups can still monitor with reporting tools that are produced, but it won't allow anyone to monitor aggregate reactions to dialog-shaping tweets in real time. And normal users/readers/commenters will be unaffected.
I was rate limited within 20 min of random scrolling earlier today.
I am not a power user, I have under 600 followers. The extent of my activity is scrolling, reading posts and comments, liking posts, occasional commenting and retweeting.
I’m even blocked from seeing my own activity in my profile. The same thing happens on every other account profile I try to access — I get a blanked out screen where their tweets should be, with the message: “Rate limit exceeded”
It’s similar to what it looks like when you go to an account set to private, or when you’ve been blocked
This is handicapping access to content — unless you pay for twitter blue. But even then, those accounts are limited too
Exactly my thoughts. Scrape, analyze, manipulate rinse and repeat.
Not only would one be able to manipulate a group but one would be able to guard against said group once you've lost control of this group.
I believe a good example of this may be France at the moment. If the government or bad actors are scraping and analyzing data in order to predict movement or popularity the movement may have or even how fast the movement is garnering support the bad actors can use the data to extinguish the movement.
Musks efforts may be directed at starving the system of the information they need to act.
600 tweets is extremely easy to hit if you're a regular user though. Scroll your feed for a bit, check replies on a few tweets, and you can easily get there. 6000 for verified requires a much more dedicated user but I'm sure people are hitting that without issue considering how much some people use twitter.
I'd delete my earlier comment because I'm obviously wrong, but I'll leave it up for anyone else like me that isn't a Twitter user, to understand better. Thanks for the correction.
Or, he could be trying to limit what the black hats can do with their bots without causing too much pain for it's real users. It's hard to say what's really going on, but these limits do greatly limit the effectiveness of "trial balloons" sent up by the DS to gauge public reaction.
The simple answer is yes...speculation on my part follows: I think they were afraid Tucker was going to post something completely different. Wonder what they thought he was going to talk about. As Tucker posts go it was brief and felt like a "neener neener". Just out of the box thoughts.
Maybe it is some legal play to kill Twitter so he can take a gigantic loss on his taxes to recoup some of his money - and remove it from the 3-letters in one glorious action.
My first intuition is, a big event is about to take place. Kill the town square, get away with murder.
“Kill the town square” — bingo!
That’s what it’s slowly beginning to feel like.
Yesterday it was only logged in accounts
Today it’s pay to play — but even if you pay, they’re limiting how long you can play
Elon claims it’s temporary. Temporary could mean hours, days, weeks, months, or more
So if it’s not censorship, then it’s testing for something else. What that is, only time will tell.
If you turn on notifications for users you def want to see tweets by, do so, and they should still pop up.
Test run for comms blackout?

I doubt he forgot
It's not useable now.
I wonder is this the way the Cabal silence us now.
Sales trick?

At least that's how I interpret the move.

Ah, ok. Not being a user I just misinterpreted. That does sound messed up.

Woah, I am still confused but thank you for the detailed description.🐸👍

If you go to the trending hashtags, they limit--happened to me.
Due to this and turning off access unless signed in , Nitter will be dead.
