Not at all, if you could use secure email. The concept would be easy to implement, I have applied for a patent in 2006. The returned it saying I must present a drawing and correct some other stuff. That would have required that I take a costly patent lawyer, so I kept my concept for all these years.
I even figured out a way, so no one can tell who is sending what to whom. I never published that.
The deep state is not interested in privacy. They want to know the person you uses an internet. or phone client all the time.
For the record, a patent is useless unless YOU have the $millions necessary to enforce it. A patent merely gives you the legal ownership of an idea, provided that there's no "prior art" (there usually is); it doesn't give you the money to prosecute anyone who infringes it. And if the infringement is by a multinational such as Microsoft, good luck sueing them!
The new Microsoft Outlook, replacing Calendar and Mail in Windows 11, syncs user data, including credentials or emails, to Microsoft Cloud by default. This applies even when using Gmail and other third-party mail accounts unless specified otherwise.
Microsoft gets full access to mails, calendars and contacts!
"Microsoft steals access data"
But not only Windows users are at risk: Outlook versions for iOS, Mac and even Android are also affected, according to Heise.
New Outlook users risk having their IMAP and SMTP credentials and whole emails transferred to Microsoft servers without proper consent given, a report by heise.de found.

Windows now suggests using The Cloud for back-up purposes. The rot really started to set in when we had The Cloud.
GitHub is marketed as a safe way to manage your software development cycles. In other news, Microsoft now has access to every program you write. They now have an AI helper to help you with your code. I wonder how they trained it?
Same with facial recognition systems. People have been posting selfies all over social media. I wonder how they tested the facial recognition programs?
I tried to explain it once to a sales assistant who was trying to add a cloud service to the laptop deal I had just struck. He really believed that The Cloud was some sort of magic that did not involve server rooms.
That's one of the reasons I remained on Windows classic mail, it archives everything to local .pst. I tried the new Outlook, didn't like it so switched back to old mail.
I use a ten-year old version of Outlook, everything is local. My last job before retiring was as a security engineer at a hosting services company; I don’t trust the cloud either for hosting or storage.
You should use a desktop for email and store the emails on your own hard drive. That's what I've done since 1989, and haven't lost a single one yet. Backups on your own hardware is the way to go.
The corporate world continues to use Microsoft despite all its risks. Maybe this will level of invasion will be a bridge too far. Maybe the beginning of internal war between IT ans security.
Something like at my work computer, when I down load photos now they go to Microsoft cloud, that said, I may be mistaken, but in the past of downloading photos to a outside server gave them rights for them to use your photos. Could be a urban myth. Sorry found this Please see Service Agreement. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement/ It says: We don’t claim ownership of Your Content. All e-mail is insecure. It's an outdated technology.

Then the feds buy it from Microsoft and say they don't need a warrant.
My emails are stored on my local computer, not "out there somewhere."
Dump microsoft: Windows ...... go: free BSD or at least MxLinux and never ever touch something from big tech with a 10 foot pole.
Proton is a good, privacy focused option, too. Even in the free version you get a pretty decent vpn.
Proton cannot prove that they are secure.
No connected device is truly secure. What’s your point?

Cloud means: "Someone else's computer"
That has always been my point of view.
I tried to explain it once to a sales assistant who was trying to add a cloud service to the laptop deal I had just struck. He really believed that The Cloud was some sort of magic that did not involve server rooms.
I switched to tutanota.com (they just shortened their name to tuta.com). So far so good.
Your E-mail is more secure if you print it out, and sent by snail mail.
Does anyone know how I can dump my .pst (outlook mail file) to thunderbird?
That's one of the reasons I remained on Windows classic mail, it archives everything to local .pst. I tried the new Outlook, didn't like it so switched back to old mail.
Two options to choose from:
For advanced users, using Thunderbird, you are able, for FREE, to migrate your email storage from Microsoft to Mailbox.org or any other hosting to your liking. Alternatively, https://mailbox.org offers a paid, but much easier migration services at https://kb.mailbox.org/en/private/account-article/audriga-your-e-mail-migration-service

I am positive that every password I have ever created has been logged and known by
1- The government
2- Internet provider
That is something everyone should know when doing anything on the internet.
That is for sure.

I have never used Outlook. Early on I used a text only email program that was absolutely immune to viruses. Now I use Thunderbird.
I use Linux.
and lose my email i've had for 17 years?
I change mine frequently.
Save them onto your own hard drive and make your own backups. That's what I've done for almost 35 years.
