LET'S GOOoOoooo!!!
Trump's team have asked for a mistrial in NY fraud case

NEW: Trump seeks a mistrial.
"...The evidence of apparent and actual bias is tangible and overwhelming," Trump argues.
He cites Justice Engoron linking to news articles, "improper co-judging" by his law clerk, political contributions by his clerk and that gag orders show bias.
Here's the document

AG gets to file a reply.
From Twitter
Engoron addresses the new Trump filings, elliptically:
This motion, the defendants filed a proposed order to show cause, correct?
Kise:
Mistrial motion.
The judge invites the AG to file an opposition, before moving back to witness testimony.
They are giving this judge an out. What's the over/ under on him taking it?
What do you mean? Why would this be an out for the judge?
To accept the mistrial, take the media heat and maybe survive under a rock in retirement.
If anything noteworthy happens, it will be at the 2020 election trial. Not this useless one. Him granting mistrial would spoil the climax for the normies. He needs to appear fucked and abused just before presenting the evidence in the election case.
Correct, but I think all of these trials are narrative deployments... 'all movies playing at the same time' scenario. One will play into another and vice versa.
Updoot. But i think this part of the show ends much more spectacularly. This looks like a huge set up. Can't wait tonsee where it leads.
Exactly my point.
I think you might be misjudging the dynamics here.
Possibly, but I'm also in the camp that thinks this is a show.
Like nothing matters?
Or it will all wash out in the end?
like this is all scripted and is all part of waking up the general population
Are you and your behaviors scripted? Sure, there may be key figures in place & a plan but that doesn't mean every minute detail is scripted. There are real, unexpected consequences, it's not clean and some good people will lose everything.
I think from my point of view, and only an opinion, the path does not matter as much as the end result. Either it is scripted or we are watching true game theory in action. Even if this particular path ends in guilty, it can always be appealed. My initial comment was a causal one asking which way does the group think the story will go. Love all the comments.
I think the view from 30k feet is “the military is the only way” as relating to the final conclusion when the highest of Congress and federal law fails forcing the sovereign military and the laws therein to accomplish draining the swamp.
Noice
A guy who posts half nekked pics to high schoolers??!
And the "bonus" torso shots
Did they put that in the complaint?
Bonus like cheesy thighs!!!
how does this work? does the judge have to agree to a mistrial or is this above him/out of his hands?
I think it goes to the judge directly.
if thats the case then this is pointless
I have feeling. We'll get a ruling today.
Meanwhile testimony is still going on.
Trump's best witness so far is testifying.
An accounting expert.
pointless?
Yes. Mistrial is filed due to bias of the judge. That same judge then gets to accept or reject the mistrial filing. Essentially needs to find himself “guilty”.

Looks like Engoron gets to decide.
Yesterday there were private talks between the lawyers and then the lawyers for each side and the judge. There were rumors of a settlement, but maybe it was about this.
UPDATE: IANAL therefore this is opinion only. (Thanks for that catch there u/JollyRancherHard )
By not approving the mistrial, the Judge opens himself up to lega consequences beyond the normal when this is overturned on appeal (if it gets that far).
In this case it could open him up to criminal charges, disbarrment, sanctions, etc.
As it questions his judgement, additional side effects could be as bad as to call into question previous rulings, rippling through his legacy as a judge. Not a bad thing in this instance.
This needs a big IANAL tag.
Thank you for the reminder. I'm usually pretty good about that. 👍
I'd assume it heads straight up to the Supreme Court.{eventually}
But that's actually hugely logical which means probably false- it goes nowhere.
What about his wife's bias?
OK. NOW I think I understand what all the private sessions were about.
But how will we present election fraud evidence if there is a mistrial?
that is a different trial.
If only there were another way to share that information
