As a child raised in a godless home, it was the Mormons' tv commercials on Saturday morning cartoons that taught me about the love of Jesus and made me want to read the Bible that prepared me to receive salvation. I don't believe in anything the Mormons teach that is not in the Bible, but God is using their resources to draw people to Himself.
Any tool our Father in Heaven can use to bring us closer to him is a win as far as I am concerned. I am so grateful that you were able to find a path towards him & our Savior.

They are particularly keen on making the Birth of Jesus known at Christmastime; they used to host an amazing display of nativity scenes from all over the world at their local church near where we live every December and it was really magical to go and visit. I brought my son when he was little. One more beautiful memory stored away.
I never understood that mindset in the Catholic religion, and offshoots , Baptist, Protestant, etc. They knock each other like enemies. It's ridiculous. Everyone believes that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Nobody asked them to all start holding joint services but no need to bash each other. The important part is agreed upon by all. Uniting in Christ would spread so much more love and light in the world. Off the soapbox, sorry for the rant.

It’s one thing to have a different outlook on things, and there can even be error in how the scriptures are interpreted (within reason), but ONE BODY, people!

I've been all around the world and I'm going to make a controversial statement: all religions are the same. Not just Christians. (Yes, even the Muslims. It's the leaders of large organizations that distort it, and Christian sects aren't above this failing either.). Many of the most pious, generous and spiritual people I know are Buddhist.
You make light of the peculiar belief that dancing is evil, yet there are also those here who would belittle someone simply because they don't believe Jesus was more special than the Buddha. If that triggers you because it runs counter to your belief, consider that those who believe dancing is evil are triggered in exactly the same way.
Ultimately, religion is merely a tool, and any religion that helps you treat others as you would like to be treated, and honors your relationship with God, is all that is required. Everything else is just cultural differences, and those should be celebrated rather than condemned.
No one system is better than any other. It's about whatever works for you. If we all simply act out of love for God and one another, religion is irrelevant.
I don't disagree. The Bible outright says God has 650 plus names.
Some of those names only certain people or groups know even.
The idea people can be good and just, and the name does not matter, is a sound one.
Still, there are levels to the madness. Look at Muslims, they believe dogs are unclean and evil, they believe a woman's face and body is impure, they believe everyone who does not believe in Islam deserves death
I would not say that is the same at all as baptists who prohibit dancing or pentecostals who put tea and coffee in the same realm as marijuana.
Sure, both are absurd, but the fruits show the true nature of each.
I have that suspicion myself about the Abrahamic religions, and did get downvoted for it a few days ago.
All three recognize the written Torah and OT prophets as authoritative scriptures. Things seem to go off the rails based off the dogmas and interpretations they build after of that.
Not familiar enough on the non-Abrahamic religions to comment intelligently, but Hinduism definitely gives me some apprehension.

Fair enough. After reading it myself, I found it testifies of Jesus Christ & speaks about "Secret Combinations" as an evil that over runs governments as a pact with the Devil IIRC.
Oddly I haven't found that anywhere else as a warning, and the other time I saw that phrase was the FBI lovers (Page & Strozk) where Lisa asks Peter if they were forming their own little secret combination.
I also have heard from native American tribes that they are descendants of tribes claimed in his book, though this should not be confused with all Native tribes.
Ultimately I encourage every single person to simply follow Jesus Christ to the best of the ability & to allow God to sort it out in the end.

She’s a liberal nut job , I love her of course and we see each other nearly everyday , she still has her room here at our home and she stays here more then her own place but I can’t have any meaningful conversations with her , I can’t believe the way she thinks, TDS the whole nine yards ,, it’s very sad .

Mormon Church has made a lot of great family oriented commercials over the years, and their priests have to support themselves. They also take care of their flock in times of need, if the flock does their part.

Yeah, everyone will need to answer to God for their own actions in the end. Generally speaking the vast majority of their members are great people doing their best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ the best they know how.
