Usually it is enough to count them in front of representatives from each party. That is how it is done in my country, but legally anyone can oversee the counting (could be logistically problematic, though).
I call this "open" elections (see my other post here). In my terminology, "transparency" is when Mr and Mrs John Q. Public understand the whole process. However, English is not my native language, but transparent was the closest word I could find for something everyone can grasp and "see through".
The problem we see is infiltration. Seriously, the head Republican was just removed in Michigan because they were secretly working to get some Democrats elected.
Some important properties of a safe and fair voting process are:
anonymous (no one can know how you voted)
secure (only eligible voters may vote)
reproducible (you can tally multiple times to get the same result)
open (anyone can oversee the process and final tallying)
transparent (normal voters understand the process)
The one system that secures this is: voter id verification, voting places with private booths, ballot, pen, and ballot boxes, followed by open tallying. A computer based system cannot obtain all properties, since many properties work in opposing directions (e.g. anonymous and open). Well, in theory, it is possible to devise a system with almost all these properties, but it will always fail on transparency.
It will be so complex, that only the developers and engineers understand it. Not even the election officials stand a chance of fully understanding the mathematics and encryption techniques involved. That is also why any system involving computers in the voting process will always be contested.
That is only necessary when you don't have a registry of eligible voters. In my country all eligible voters are sent a voting slip (not ballot), that tells you where to vote (usually a local school gym). When you vote, you hand back the slip and are crossed off a list. You can't vote twice.
Of course you may do early voting by going to town halls or public libraries, but here you have to show id, and can no longer vote at your designated area (you are off the list).
I would love to be around when the truth about how white hats took back earth from the demons, comes out in a history book. There are so many moving parts to this.😲🤯
There is no advantage of a handmade ballot box. I interpret the mentioning of "handmade" to signify the importance of having a ballot box, meaning you turn up in person, vote and place your ballot in a sealed box, that is later opened under public scrutiny.
That is certainly a good thing, but not enough. It is a combination of many properties that make up a safe and fair election (see my other post about that here).
I thought I read that the ballots were counted in front of the voters. Is this true?
That's transparency.

We don't have that here, as we have no president. The elected parties work out who they support as prime minister.
I guess infiltration is unavoidable, when you have primaries and registered voters?
put a real time public cameras on the ballots as they are counted, where any and all can watch the count live on the internet.
Just put safeguards in place so that nobody can replace the live feed with a fraudulent video feed.

This ends all attempts at socialist ballot theft. I guess that leaves the commies with assassination and intimidation.
I can't wait to see what happens with Argentina in the next few years. Possibly might be a place to move to to get away from the deep state corruption

But it's of course good for one thing: cheating!
dip fingers in ink like Iran.

My brother has suggested this for years.
I can't trust this WEF member. Be wary.
I'm talking about the new Argentinian president.

Butt,,, Dominion paid off so many politicians...

Can someone explain what advantage a hand made ballot box has over one that is mass produced?

Ballots with water marks for authenticity.

Love him. No nonsense and getting things done. He hasn't even been president for one full month yet and he's already slashed so much pork.
Elon posting a lot about illegal aliens flooding the country lately, as well as them being able to vote. Anyone still think he's a blackhat?

I thought Elon just said mail in voting should be allowed or did I dream that?
I just read the post again---he was being sarcastic! KEK
