Without god, morality becomes relative and subjective. Meaning if someone believes it's moral to kill you and take what you have, who would be able to say that their morality isn't valid, and by what standard?

As far as a “stiff-necked people” , God is addressing not only the Israelites, but all of humanity. God didn’t pick the descendants of Abraham to be His chosen people because they were special. God could have picked any group of people. He picked them in order for them to show the rest of humanity who He is and what His laws are.
Reading Exodus made me very frustrated at the 12 tribes as they would continually turn their back on God even as God was visible to them all the time. I finally realized that I am guilty of that as well but didn’t want to see it. Lesson learned. Thank you, Father.
