Pointless ballot. Just more legislative BS.

Political parties ultimately decide how to select their candidates: The Presidential Preference Primary is non-binding. Major parties are responsible for how they select their nominee for president. This means that while Washoe County is mandated to conduct a Presidential Preference Primary, ultimately it’s the Republican and Democrat parties who decide how to select their candidates.
Candidates must have filed with the State of Nevada to appear on the Presidential Preference Primary ballot: Candidates who want to appear on the ballot must file with the Nevada Secretary of State. The Nevada Republican Party has determined that those who file to be on the ballot may not participate in the caucus. This is why some candidates are listed on the ballot and some are not. Notably, Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump are not on the Presidential Preference Primary ballot in Washoe County because their campaigns opted to not file for the primary and instead participate in the caucus. In addition, some candidates who filed to be on the ballot have since dropped out. By law, Washoe County cannot remove them from the ballot.
Thanks DRan. Clears it right up
#3. Thank you for your explanation!
I called our county to find out why. The kind lady told me it’s because Trump chose to caucus. She then proceeded to let me know when and where the caucus will be held in my town.
No DeSanctimonius?
Trump is right there on the ballot: "NONE OF THESE CANDIDATES"
Go to the Caucus in person, I think it's Feb 8.
fills in NONE and writes in FUCK YOU
More productive would be to write in another black bullet with Trump's name. Perhaps "will FUCK You" can be added after his name in parenthesis.
Just one more reason you vote in person.
If you cant speak and read english you shouldnt be able to vote.
We do a caucus here so this primary thing is all bullshit to try and confuse.
Many states have both. I'm actually surprised it's not all states.
Those that do both typically have some state law about the elected delegates at the caucus being bound to vote for the candidate who received xx% majority vote in the primary, but can break that vote if that majority is not met, or if there is a recast at the convention because there was no clear victory. (Some states do not require delegates to pledge their votes).
In 2012, Ron Paul actually had a better chance at the nomination than most realize because Paul supporters dominated the caucuses even in states where Romney was the clear victor in the primary. If there was a recast at the convention that year for any reason, I'm fairly certain Ron Paul would have won the nomination in a massive upset.
I suspect DeSantis supports may try the same tactic, so be sure to attend your local caucuses!
For us the primary is basically a preference poll with no legal standing per Assembly rep
Feb 8th, 170 Pike St. 5-8 PM for us in Dayton.
Is that even legal or constitutional?
"It's a clownworld after all, it's a clown, clown, world..." Whether true or not, EVEERY single issue is going to be this way until the 'precipice'; whatever that ends up being. Narrative deployments are in hyperdrive right now. This all ends when "we the people" wake up and become "WE THE PEOPLE". Present company excluded of course.
And it seems there’s no way to write his name in either. I would sue them.
Is this just on the absentee ballots? Not that that isn’t bad enough and should not be allowed. Do you also have the ability to vote in person?
You have to be kidding, wtf is this nonsense.
This oughta be an interesting fight. Especially since there is no place to write in a candidate.
We are not going to have an election that does not allow mail in ballots.IMHO. Not feasible. But we CAN have legitimate and encoded fraud proof ballots through some advanced means. Only verified "real" voters will even receive their assigned ballots. Isn't this the key?
No, in person voting ONLY for persons living in the US on election day. Mail in ballots ONLY for persons living outside the US on election day.
Why does it say "Do not sign your ballot?" Nevada doesn't do signature verifications? Or is that for the actual November 2024 ballot only?
