Prayer request
π§Mental/Physical Health ππΌββοΈ
My son's father-in-law is undergoing open heart surgery right now. I ask for prayers for a safe and successful operation, with no complications. (he had a heart attack about a week ago. He is less than 60 with no prior heart condition, and his blood work appeared good. He had covid two years ago. I personally believe that both the covid shots, and covid itself, has produced coronary problems for many people.)
I will post a follow-up message later today (operation is going to be at least 5 hours).
Thank you all!
Dear Lord, let the surgeons be extensions of your healing hands to bring this beloved father-in-law back to health & healing, and to the glory of your Holy name. Strengthen him & his loved ones with your presence, draw them to salvation through Christ Jesus, and fill them with your Spirit and your peace. I ask this in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Your prayers are so beautiful.
β€οΈ I tried to reply to you, but it ended up as a separate post, so I'm moving it here. Here's what I said: My Pastor used the phrase "extension of your healing hands" in a prayer once and that image struck me as a perfect representation of what we ask for in prayers of healing. It is Jesus touching the blind man's eyes, but this time we are asking him to touch this man's heart. God also comforts us so that we may comfort others. I have been the family member waiting for a loved one's heart surgery to be completed. My heart is with this family. May they see God is with them. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Corinthians+1%3A3-4&version=ESV
Thank you so much for this; so timely and meaningful for me right now.
Amen.

I'm not in any way religious but what you describe is called "visualisation" and it definitely works - especially if a quorum of people all visualise the same outcome. A quorum, in this case, requires a minimum of 80 people. It doesn't need to be simultaneous. It just requires everyone to "see" this person healthy. I'm not suggesting doxxing but a photo of the person helps. If you prefer, you can think of it as projecting his image to God so that He knows who to heal.
I moved my post because it was supposed to be a reply to someone. I also wanted to reply to your post. James 5:16 tells us "...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." Which means a believer in salvation because of Jesus' death & ressurection to pay for the sins of all mankind (this belief alone makes someone righteous), when praying to God, creator of all things visible & invisible, those prayers will get results in keeping with God's will. (That's the effectual part) James 18:19 also speaks of 2 or more agreeing on earth & asking God the Father for something & It being granted. In each case this involves praying to God & God doing the work that is in keeping with his will, not some other 'power' accomplishing this in place of God through visualization, good thoughts, etc. It puts us in the position of recognizing God's authority over us and all creation.
What part of "you can think of it as projecting his image to God so that He knows who to heal" did you not understand?
The part where I am able to talk directly to God does not require projection.

Dear God be with this family in their time of need.
In your sons name Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Are you insane?
Dear Lord - please be in the operating room with the surgeons to guide them through the procedure safely. Please heal him and give him a new lease on life so he can serve you and love his family. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you all for the prayers! The report back from my son is that the operation was successful, and the patient is under sedation while being monitored for any adverse post-operation conditions. So far, so good!
New update: The anesthesia was apparently ended too soon, but he is still doing ok, but with a lot of pain. Additional prayers requested if you can remember. (it's hard to remember all the things/people you can pray for sometimes!) Thank you again!
Adding to my prayer list now.
Dear Heavenly Father- we lift up FIL to you. We asked father that you go before him and fight his battles, put your heavenly angels around him, and give the doctors wisdom and knowledge to perform this procedure in a timely and accurate manner. We pray for your loving arms to be wrapped around him, and for his healing to start immediately after surgery. We asked for a complete healing, and that he can live the rest of his life worshiping and praising you. In Jesus name amen.
