First of all, I was involved in a “minor” car accident in November where I have been found at fault for making an illegal left turn. Never mind that I was t-boned by a young guy hot rodding it in the right turn lane to get around traffic. They served the demand to the insurance (I’m in FL) and they claim $3m plus in losses and he walked away from the accident stood for two hours until the tow arrived etc. Now they are demanding my life savings. I’m completely freaking out. Please pray for me.
To top it all off, I was reorganized out of my leadership position 6 weeks ago. I have two job interviews next week but no other new options. Very few opportunities in my field as I’m 25 years in and I may have to take a lower job to stay in my field. Honestly considering walking dogs or working at Costco at this point. Im at the bottom and just really trying to figure this all out.
Consult a good Attorney that specializes in Insurance Fraud and Pray Psalm 91 over yourself everyday.

I had a similar accident years back. Do a consult with an attorney as others have suggested. Consults are normally free. 'Loss of consortium' was what I was sued for. Pretty sure the Insurance co. paid out a small amount. My accident, I did the t-bone and I was at fault. No one was injured and I was the one in the ambulance. The fools suing you are gross people. No injuries, Including me.

Same here. I technically failed to yield but was more or less targeted, they had ample time to avoid collision. Solid witnesses, ruled no fault/equal fault. Front end of Escalade fell tf apart, my shitbox had a dent in the quarter panel. Ppl are stupid.

"Heaven and Earth will pass away but God's word will never pass away"(will never fail you)

This verse hit my inbox as my verse of the day this morning. I share it with you now because it's apropos to my situation as well, and it brought me some comfort. Was let go of my role a couple of weeks before Christmas (yes, this douche-baggery actually happens) and am STILL looking. It's a defeating, deflating process, I know. But hang in there. Just like me, you're being lead to something much better and worthy of your talents. Prayers going up for you!

The insurance says they will negotiate a settlement with the other party and make them sign an agreement that prevents them from suing me further but I still worry that they will come after me for additional damages.

This doesn't help you now, but for anyone reading this, this is why you want maximum liability insurance + umbrella insurance. If the insurance company is on the hook for millions of dollars, you'd better believe they'll get you the best attorneys to fight this nonsense.
