You absolutely correct. WTH wait? My wife and I fled the local UMC church congregation we were part of seven years ago because of this bullshit. We were BORN into the UMC over 50 years ago, raised in it, got married in it, volunteered for YEARS in the first part of our married life. And now it is in ruins.
I personally hope the UMC (at least the wokesters who ruined the apparently larger remaining part) absolutely IMPLODES...they're well on their way. It can't survive with the current global budget. And I will dance on that denomination's grave.
Yes the Methodist church near me sent a gay pastor to replace one that moved and the tithing diminished. They couldn’t pay the bill and the church was bought out by a local non denominational.
I’ve seen priests become Buddhist and keep their job and a different church where someone on the vestry was trying to remove Christian symbols to “make it more welcoming.”
WTF is up with these places?

I was watching a sermon a couple of months ago. The Pastor was possibly looking at merging his church with another one that had bigger facilities. In a meeting with the elders of the new church, he was asked if his church leaned left or leaned right, because they leaned left. His response was they don't lean at all. They STAND. They STAND for the rights of the unborn. They STAND for the Bill of Rights. They STAND for sound biblical ideology. Or something to that effect. Needless to say, the merger didn't happen. It was a powerful sermon.
It's a clear example of an asset grab. Infiltration, scare away the congregation, steal all the property titles. Miniscule minority leveraged themselves into power. Truly shameless.
As a former United Methodist, I can say that a majority of Methodist do not agree with those values and left that affiliation. Most of the churches left in UM are In larger cities that lean liberal.
Yes, I was too. In a big city, but with a conservative congregation. The conservative pastor, a good representative to and for the local church, recently retired after being investigated by the administrative hierarchy for abusing the pulpit. Utter hogwash. Another pastor was told to retire or move to Guam as his next assignment; he retired too. Even in Los Angeles, where there is some actual support for the LGBTetc agenda, the majority of congregations are nowhere near as sympathetic to the agenda as they are painted out to be. Instead they are ignorant as both their buildings and the legitimacy of their creed are stolen and perverted right from under their noses.
Such a sad situation, as long as we stay true to what Jesus and the Bible teach us, we will be victorious in God’s work in our lives.
The Methodist Church began shifting away from Christ and the Bible 30 years ago which is when I left it after generations in the church including my grandfather who was a Methodist Pastor. But let’s not pick on just the UMC. Most mainline churches have all gone liberal and woke and are little more that social service agencies.

When aged historical places of worship are stolen out from under the people of those religions (Christianity and Catholicism for the most common traditional religions in the West) and it is made difficult from a legal and financial perspective to create new ones, then that's a pretty bad thing.
Even the annual conference tactics were taken straight from "rules for radicals." I wasn't involved in church hierarchy or administration, but I did have the opportunity to view it from a distance. It's quite brazen and shameless.
It's absolutely a strategy. Not only was there anonymity about who supposedly reported the pastor to set up his audits (probably some roamers from the Hollywood area), but our church had a vote to decide about seceding from the church, and many new people from outside the area signed up as members beforehand. It doesn't take many to tip the balance.

My kids scouts meetings are at a Methodist church. They're flying a few freak flags there. Freaking blasphemers.
Doesn't it make you wonder what they are teaching your kids while at the scout meetings if they have the meetings at that church? I would have taken my kids out of the scouts or at the very least wouldn't let them go until they change where they meet to a better location and hang out at meeting to see what's going on.
I keep an eye on what's going on. It's just a free space the troop can use for meetings. I have my kids so based my daughter and I make fun of the fag flag on the church when I bring her to the meetings. Good looking out though!

I left the Methodist church after a pastor banged my then wife. All they did was move him to another church. The old saying fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. It’s no longer a church or anything that represents what was intended. Also when Hilary lost I hear the majority of their national office was sobbing in the hallways.
Hillary was a Methodist as a child. I wonder how much of a role she played in their downfall.

Really? If you are speaking of the AME Church, they are the race hustlers, the charlatans, the tools used to steal elections. It was James Clyburn and the AME that organized the on the ground fraud in the big cities. Detroit is owned by the AME. So is Atlanta. All the big predominantly black cities are over run with AME operatives disenfranchising the people. They are the slave overseers while BLM provides the muscle.
I'm talking about the church's in Africa. They vote in the annual conference same as the liberal American churches. They are very conservative.

The Methodist Church in our area had a subsidiary named Crossroads Church. They where under the Methodist Church umbrella for over 10 years. When this garbage went down they broke away to keep their doctrine.
Sad that in order to be true to Christ and His revealed Word we have to leave these “churches.” When their values are based on this world and not His Word then we have to “come out of her, oh My people.”

Yup, the Methodist church near me was swallowed by a local church for failure to come up with the thousands necessary to stay open. My friend was a member (before he sadly passed away) and said he was the only one at the state Methodist gathering (I forget the official name) that opposed the LGBTQ agenda. He was demeaned and made out to be a terrible person for saying having a gay pastor was anti Biblical. My friend was a real warrior about it but the Methodist church on the whole outvoted him and sent the church a gay pastor. Attendance diminished, donations or tithing diminished. I was desperately hoping another church would pick up the building instead of Muslims.
