I miss the Benny Hill show days.
I used to tell my children about Benny Hill, in 1995 when I came back to the UK with my little family, we watched some, boy I was embarrassed, some were so rude lol I never noticed when I was a teenager watching them at the time.
BUT he was still the best songwriter, his lyrics were brilliant! Loved his 'Garden of Love' haha
I considered them "edgy" as he was always pushing the boundaries of decency on TV. Unfortunately the rest of the world's attitudes changed and ITV ended up sacking him rather suddenly. He died alone in his chair in a flat near his old studio.
These days if that comedic format was tried again the people involved would probably all be fined or arrested.
My son popped his head in the room at the dancing chicken act demanding to know what I was watching, I made him sit down and watch it from the beginning, he was cracking up :)
