Back in my day, a kid would have identified as a cat for about 5 minutes, then common sense would have kicked in and the parents would be called to deal with their kid at home instead of disturbing the rest of the kids there to learn.
You probably know furries are a fetish. It started in the the incredibly niche-y autism spectrum Gay teenage boy My Little Pony groupies. I shit you not! It expanded into shaggy costume wearing furries of every cartoon character animal you can think of. And the furries are divided; there is the innocent "I'm a stuffed animal cartoon come to life" furry party bunch, and there are the Gay and straight sex furries who like to bang. Also there are neurotics who identify as real animals not furries. They lick their paws and meow and hiss and want litter boxes and dog ones that bark and try to lick YOU. Apparently there are some masochistic passive-aggressive bully furries at that school. Insisting on acceptance. They must be Gay or trans furries. Lol. What a world!! I learned all this by stumbling upon an article about the odd statistics of what type person gets obsessed with My Little Pony.
It didn't hit mainstream full swing until they made that one My Little Pony series that added some less than child friendly stuff that drastically accelerated it into the mainstream. But it definitely drastically predates the bronies.
It's because, for the first time, the cartoon was genuinely GREAT. Seriously, I started watching it out of spite because I was so pissed that disgusting, joke-free shows like Family Guy and Brickleberry were so damn popular--and I was stunned that I wound up LOVING it. So different from the older, vapid, substance-free MLP shows--and I'm old enough to remember the original.
And there are sickos in every fandom. Randy Stairkilled people in the name of Ember, a character from Danny Phantom.
EDIT: Okay, Friendship Is Magic was great for nine seasons...and then season 10 went woke. Then the show ended. But I admit that happened.
It wasn't because of any jokes only adults would get. A lot of shows have that.
Ah yes, because pushing agendas in shows by attracting an older audience was not being done in all those older shows too!
But enjoying the series doesn't really make you a "brony" and I also don't believe that it was exclusively the My Little Pony stuff that brought it mainstream but more that it coincided with it. I only believe it accelerated it.
It didn't help that Friendship is Magic also had a fantastic cast of voices that was essentially headlined by the extremely prolific (if a bit not my favorite person due to her politics) Tara Strong, a voice that basically every kid of the surrounding era had heard everywhere growing up.
As I said in another post, it predates Friendship is Magic by at least 21 years when pointing at the ConFurence being founded in 1989.
How many times do we have to say this? Get your kids out of public school. The teachers and administration are unhinged lunatics who support the same behaviors in the students. Expect nothing from children, you get nothing. Expect behavior and respect of each other and you get it or discipline accordingly. Just like in colleges and universities. Make it clear that only PEACEFUL and dignified protests are tolerated; not allowing the other side to talk, property destruction, foul language, and laying a hand on/invading personal space is not. The latter is grounds for expulsion and the requirement to pay the full year’s tuition despite expulsion, as well as prosecution for any of the infringements.
the furry thing is a final capstone astroturfing of normalizing sexualized children, trans, and pedophilia. I know what I saw on twitter. It's all related to kinks and sex.
Nope. Rule 34 and which ever other appropriate rules apply extended into furry animals all the way back to the earliest days of the internet.
At a certain point, it became mainstream but ConFurence, which was a furry convention, ran from 1989 to 2003.
I know a lot of random facts about the time because I spent a lot of time on the internet as a kid, but that one just took a quick Google. I had no idea that it was even that far back until just now.
well Gen Z are being hit with it hard, even to the point they think their identity is such. I'm seeing furry avatars in like 30% of apparant Gen Z accounts I run across, it's no longer "niche"
perhaps I should say "furry op phase 2"? if it wasn't begun as an op it sure seems to have been transformed into one
from AI: The furry movement began in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the United States. It originated from science fiction and fantasy conventions where fans of anthropomorphic animal characters gathered. These characters are depicted with human characteristics and personalities, but also have animal features. The movement gained momentum through underground comic books, role-playing games, and internet forums where fans of these characters could connect and share their interests. Today, the furry movement is a global subculture with conventions, gatherings, and online communities dedicated to anthropomorphic art and literature.
The exact point at which the furry movement took a stark sexual turn is difficult to pinpoint, as it is a gradual process influenced by various factors. However, some significant milestones that contributed to the sexualization of the movement include:
The establishment of online communities: In the early 1990s, the internet became more accessible, and furry fans began to connect through online platforms such as Usenet groups and web forums. This allowed for the sharing of sexual content and the exploration of sexual interests within the community.
The creation of Yerf and other furry art archives: In the late 1990s, websites like Yerf were established to showcase furry artwork. These sites included a mix of non-sexual and sexual content, further contributing to the sexualization of the movement.
The growth of furry conventions: Furry conventions began to emerge in the early 2000s, providing a space for fans to gather, share their interests, and socialize. Some of these conventions became known for their sexual content, as adult-themed panels and events were included in their programming.
The influence of the internet and social media: As the internet and social media platforms continued to grow, so did the availability of sexual content related to the furry movement. This further contributed to the normalization and acceptance of sexual exploration within the community.
Oh no doubt, it's definitely hitting them hard. They're being assaulted with so many things and the acceleration of it is actually insane, but that does tend to be how a slippery slope works.
would it be fair to say these ops we are seeing accelerating are just the crescendos of ops that begun in the 50s-70s which were ported over from the Weimar Republic days??
IF someone in an outta season Halloween costume but my child to further the mental illness, my child would have permission to protect themselves. Actually had a girl kicking my son in the shin hard enough to leave bruises. After telling his teacher a(5th grade) awoke hippie type; he told the play ground aide with no results. I told my son he could kick her back - and as hard as he could. Previously he'd been told to be kind to girls - mistake. Because I was an active PTA mom I was at the school a bit, I told the principal & teacher if Susie came crying to them because my son kicked her...then explained the situation & it would stop one way or the other. It did without further incident to my son's disappointment.
One of the most insane and creepy articles I’ve seen posted on this site. The principal running this school needs to be investigated for grooming his/her own kid - noted as a furry in the article. I doubt this kid just became a furry on their own….
And ppl think Utah isn't a purple state. Having lived here 10 yrs, I can tell you it is. Payson just a few years back was still on the farming side of rural.
Back in my day, a kid would have identified as a cat for about 5 minutes, then common sense would have kicked in and the parents would be called to deal with their kid at home instead of disturbing the rest of the kids there to learn.
Back in my day, the other kids would have kicked the shit out of the "cat" and that would have been the end of it.
Back in my day, we lived such silly fantasies out on Halloween, then resumed normalcy the next day.
Shit really is getting weird.
My little sister went through a phase where she though she was a cat. We brothers fed her cat treats for about a week. That solved the problem.
Lmao👌
Times have changed
Common sense would have kicked the "furries" until theirs returned shortly. Or until the lone remaining one was sent to a facility.
Cool. They’re animals.
Then they belong at home, or in a cage. Not in a school for human children.
None of these kids are allowed to just bring pets in, and if they are strays, then animal control should come pick them up.
Why is this a problem? Either they are human children, in which case this behavior is inappropriate, or they are animals and don’t belong in class.
Exactly this

It definitely started long before bronies.

Former brony here. Yes, really.

Looks like that could be fixed with a good kick in the ass or a good whack with the yard stick.

I disagree on the order.
Furry "culture" is not a final capstone.
I actually think it was one of the earliest.
Really? I thought it was a fairly new thing

The female feral alley cat that had lived on my patio for ten years would have had them for lunch... retards is being polite...

In middle school, I had a classmate, we got along.
One day, I'm guessing she was having her first period.
I said something to her, I don't remember what I said.
But she instantly kicked me in the balls.
It was like a pause button.
I couldn't do anything, just stand there.
No thoughts in my brain, couldn't say anything.
It wasn't like the Hollywood movies where they curl into the fetal position, it was almost like being temporarily paralyzed into a statue.
lol..
The looney bins are gonna be fired back up and CROWDED!!
it's going to be really interesting, IF.. and when.. simple deworming medications actually cures these people that behave crazy
How about just requiring the males to be neutered and see how many get cured?
you mean infestation?

Send the retarded furry kids home. When the parents come knocking, arrest them.
And these are likely Mormons or at least Mormon run schools.
