FWIW, the Fraternity guys I knew were mostly self-centered jerks.
Yeah, but if you look at a lot of those self-centered jerks, they join the fraternity because they want to be better people. They want to be part of something bigger than themselves. Like a lot of lost kids, they're looking for inspiration, for community, brotherhood, etc. They want a family feeling that they may never have had at home, especially if their parents were married to work or they were only children.
Lots of people join for different reasons. I had good friends in undergrad fraternities. There were the occasional d-bag losers like in any group, but most of it was just a bunch of guys looking to belong and to better themselves. My professional fraternity in grad school certainly had elements of that. All of us just wanted to be better people. We wanted to dedicate ourselves to something. We did a lot of charity work.

FWIW, the Fraternities at my school went too far when it came to initiation ceremonies (really sadistic Gay type stuff) and other creepy behaviors. The college got rid of them with good cause and evidence. Your take is probably true when it comes to other Greek Orgs. I have to admire the UNC Frat who put up with abuse from the Libtards.

I think khazarians hijacked a demographic and have hid behind it for centuries (zionists). And Hamas uses innocent Palestinian men and women and children to hide behind. It's ok to simply say innocent life should be protected.
I can only speak for myself, but I think this sort of confusion is on purpose. They (media/govt) present "sides" and pressure you to choose one. If you don't choose one side, then you implicitly support the other side. The problem is, the same people control both sides. It's all about division, hatred and incitement of violence.
It's not Israel vs Palestine, it's the Uniparty+CIA+Israeli Govt/Mil/Intel + Hamas + ISIS + ... vs The People. The People being ordinary citizens who just want to live in peace and raise their families in a safe place.
