Explain how it would be good optics to go against your entire base - composed mostly of Christians - on the issue of supporting Israel.
That's something that really needs to change among the Christians. You can support the everyday people without supporting their govt. And rape should be reclassified as a crime against humanity.

Every minute of Trump's time in public is optimized. What gains more support from the US population: calling out violence here at home, or violence far away? Calling out gas prices and grocery bills, or 1 video of dubious origin that gets airtime from a small number of channels?
His job is to guide the massive herd of normies; the surgery of addressing specific incidents that pop up in the news cycle on occasion, no matter how serious, is handled by others away from the news cycle.
