That those who did it would be promoted and supported. Most musicians at the meeting went along with it, but at least 1 did not. Can’t remember the specifics as I don’t listen to rap at all. Maybe the organizers were influential producers or heads of labels or bankers.
Yes, and once the kids finally have all the trending clothes they switch the fashion trend again so they are now "out of style" and have to buy a whole new wardrobe. In the 1990s and 2000s the trend was big and baggy as possible; now it's the complete opposite, skinny jeans and tight XS shirts.

I would imagine that the longer it went on, the more natural his alter ego became, and the more convincing he became. Another 16 year old got killed point blank in the head by a rival gang member.
So the ganster rap psyop was successful in my neck of the woods. All my friends know I can't listen to that crap when it comes on TV.
The idolization of materialism, crime, sex, drugs, and gang life... I don't think it is surprising that 12.5% of the population commits over 70% of crime.
They also started "I don't need no man" culture. I also don't think that it's a coincidence that blacks have the most single parent households.

Then compare with LL, Epmd or public enemy from the same era.

About 10 years ago I did a job at an ex-NFL player's business in TN and while wiring up some equipment (laying on my back on floor underneath), he asked me; if I liked "Christian rap" - I told him I didn't think so... and he insisted on playing it.
After about 3 minutes into hearing some completely f'd up song about Jesus with gangster rap melody...I told him if he didn't "Turn that shit off, I'm walking off the job"...I made sure to put a few bags of foam "circus peanut" ear protection inserts in my tool kit in case anyone plays the Mars Attacks gangster rap soundtrack 🙄

The melody style could have been any drive by shooting song - and to be honest, I didn't give a shit what the intention was ... I didn't get a peaceful/loving vibe AT ALL from music that is supposed to honor the prince of peace. I'd even say I thought it was borderline blasphemous - at the very least, in bad taste.
