This is funny. So Apple used some sketchy accounting to avoid paying tax to the Irish government (people), a tax that all other businesses MUST pay or face fines / legal proceedings for the directors.
The EU investigated their off the books tax “arrangement” with our civil servants, that the citizens were not aware of. They told Apple to pay the Irish “government” $18Bn in back tax and fines and stop the tax dodging, in other words a level playing field for all businesses.
The Irish government, who allegedly represents the Irish citizens, refused the order and appealed the decision to the EU Supreme Court of “Justice”, where they lost. They did this because it was a threat to “our” sovereignty to make hidden sweetheart deals to political donor corporations.
So my government (civil servants) that we employ and pay to look after our interests are actively colluding with a corporation for their benefit.
Apple are now trying to weasel out of paying this tax by calling Trump at the eleventh hour, a man they have constantly vilified. Let’s see how that works out for dandy Tim Apple.

I watched that whole interview last night on PBD Podcast. It was very interesting! Well worth the time-you get to see a little more personal side to DJT. Idk how he gets the energy. That whole Tim Cook bit was fascinating.
