I'm more worried about the rally the day before. The patriots going to that rally (including the Trump and the Vance families and other appointees/cabinet members) are probably in way more danger than going to the inauguration. Think about it - a building full of MAGA or the inauguration with members from both parties...

Let them plan the whole thing in DC - and then, at the very last minute, hold the actual swearing-in at Mar-a-Lago. It doesn't have to be done in DC. The oath can be administered anywhere.
