There’s a similar complex in Missouri. Though without the Hollywood bit.
I believe it’s ‘Officially’ at least primarily used for Food Storage though. Specifically Cheese and Dairy. Which gave it the ever creative name of the “Cheese Caves”.
Rumors the State Government has a fallout shelter style complex at the bottom of it. As part of a State COG plan.
The massive Detroit salt mines too. It is publicly acknowledged that there are over 100 miles of roads and 1500 acres of caverns that have been excavated. The key phrase in the above statement is publicly acknowledged. This salt bed goes from Detroit under Lake Huron all the way to Drummond Island off the eastern tip of the Upper Peninsula.
There is also another entrance in Goodrich, Ontario and that mine is considered the largest in the world. It is 55 miles between Goodrich and Detroit. This mine goes under Lake Huron.
I remember going on a tour there as a kid with the boy scouts. It was immense. Awe inspiring. Ceilings 100 feet above your head. Tours are no longer given.
I'd love to see a trusted patriot do a documentary on the origins of Hollywood, Show the origins of Hollywood, the decent people and movies, what happened to destroy it, and who was responsible (I think we have some idea).
Centralisation also has its disadvantages, especially for intentional harm.
And especially with hundreds of people working there.
Security measures must be tight.
We have them in the Midwest. All of the ones near me are old quarries and there are a lot of business that require cold storage that use them because of the natural occurring temps.
It's an old mine, i belive. Cheapest warehouse space you can find.
Yes.
Johnny Carson ordered all surviving episodes of his tenure on The Tonight Show to be preserved in a salt mine.
Why "surviving episodes?" He learned that NBC had erased and re-used many master tapes of his shows--including his premiere episode!
Carson became an early proponent of media preservation.
Interesting they saved a few dollars and lost millions in re- runs.

Been there for an auction once in the Kansas City complex. Yes there was huge warehouses for food items and tons of other items being stored.
Subtropolis IS in Kansas City, MO. Interesting there us one in BUTLER PA also that the GOV leases a bunch of space in……
There's a couple of these in Western PA. Probably all through the Appalachian Mtns.
Having a rough time reading a story that has Hollywood and treasures in the same sentence.

creative idea, but I doubt I could deal with it.
I may be perpetually online, but even i need sun once in a while...
That's roughly 20% of the square mile. Doesn't seem that big.
