Our forecast is for 6" of snow with ice. We had a snow in 2018, it was a record of 4". Since we get snow maybe once a decade we are not set up for snow. As soon as it quit snowing temps dropped intonthe teens and nery got much over 30 degrees. We had to had for slat trucks to come from Atlanta to slat our roads. Everything for the most part was shut down for a week. Our county is suippose to have purchase salt for this storm.
In south Alabama we will have lows of 23 degrees & high of 40 degrees on Monday, the 20th. On Tuesday, the 21, we are supposed to get snow with lows in the 20's and highs in the 30's. I've lived here for almost 20 yrs and we maybe have gotten just snow flurries about 2 times if that, though we have gotten sleet & ice covering everything one year. The kids & hubby had fun sliding down the driveway on a board, lol. So, you know everything will be closed on Tuesday if it really does snow or we get ice.
So what happens to regular people who had standing tickets for the inaguration from their congressmen? I am not spending a grand to watch it on tv in a stadium

But, just for the sake of argument, what's the difference going to be? Unless you had seats in the first section (which are reserved for family, guests of the President elect, higher ups in government...etc...) you'd be watching him on a jumbo-tron, anyway. Unless you brought some binoculars.
It's basically an occasion to mingle with people who are as excited as you are, which can still occur, most likely, and having bragging rights that you were there.
And now you have a story to tell about how you were in DC for the DJT inauguration during one of the coldest inaugurations in history.
And double bonus, you get to experience DC without the usual traffic and tourists. I guarantee that residents in the area (heavily liberal) will stay out of the city. The weather will be so bad that only the true die hard patriots will be there. That means you basically have all the museums to yourself. And most of them on the National Mall are free, and will be open on Saturday. (Check before you go, of course.)
I believe they will still have the Jumbotrons set up outside the Capitol…you can likely still go and watch it there. I am happy to watch it at the stadium given the weather. I’m from Wisconsin, and standing in line to get into the stadium for a few hours, even with heated socks and jacket will be enough cold for me!
