Thats a dishonest use of that verse. The problem is the existence of denominations period. People hack God's Word to pieces. The problem with that woman is she claims to speak for God while spewing lies.
Enter the discussion on manipulation of canon by the Catholic Church and other outside influencers attempting to prevent and eliminate the nomadic Christian bloodline. This image is misleading and gaslighting.
God isn't against women, nor against them being decision makers or leaders.
Women should not be submissive to the point they have to stay silent.
Women are not second class to men. If it weren't for women, me and you would not exist.
This hardline interpretation and intentional editing of scripture by cabalists is one of the very reasons why women are abused on religious homes. This is what they use against us. I'm not going any further into this until anons understand the text they read in the Bible is not all "the word of God", and there is nothing hypocritical about it.
The Bible has been manipulated. Every passage should not be taken literally, nor should it be some subject of emotional interpretation. The lessons and meaning of scripture is for your own determination and judgement as God reveals it to you, not how you twist it, and shouldn't be forced on anyone. These are facts.
Throughout scripture is clear that women are not supposed to be pastors or elders. And not just women but also certain men.
This is about God's standards for positions of leadership in the Church and he is very particular.
The Bible has been manipulated.
Wrong. You're a heretic That is either ignoring or ignorant of the science of textual transmission. The Bible has not been manipulated. If you believe it has then you're also saying that God isn't sovereign. All scripture is"God breathed"
By saying the Bible has been manipulated you've put yourself in the company of every cult from Mormonism to Jehovah's witnesses to some Kool-Aid drinkers. That's what they do.
Even the top atheists and biblical critics stopped claiming scripture was changed or manipulated with the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls.
One thing I’ll give people that say that is that there wouldn’t be so many translations if some versions hadn't been manipulated to some extent.
One of the best examples is that there is no commandment saying “Thou shalt not kill.” It’s “Thou shalt not commit murder”, and the lines between “kill” and “murder” are defined elsewhere in the OT.
However, specific translational accuracies, intentional or otherwise, most accounts tend to agree that the source texts align exceptionally well. In the same way that the “Federal Reserve Note” is not “money”, a “translation of The Bible” is not necessarily “The Bible”, and accuracy can vary.
It already was. Even the main atheists scholars don't make that claim anymore since the discovery of the dead Sea scrolls.
Arguably THE top experts in the world on the science of textual transmission is Dr James White and he has covered all aspects of this extensively including countless debates defending the position. Here's ONE https://youtu.be/LuiayuxWwuI?si=TTo5pZL79B2CyuWd
You're wrong. God is sovereign over everything including carrying His word through history. Quit listening to crackpots that are trying to deceive you.
How sad and pathetic your belief in God is if you don't think He could protect His own words. That's not a God worth serving.
God's word is the objective standards for truth. If you step off that you can't even account for reality without the presuppositions of the Christian worldview.
I wasn't looking down on you, I was attacking your position. You are making a basic category error.
Look.... Either God, the creator of the universe is all powerful and conveyed His word throughout history.... Or He's not. If he's not then he isn't God. It's simple. The idea that man can thwart God is a lie from the devil. Don't be deceived
The problem with all of that is that wasn't my point. I was simply saying it's possible that through how many times the Bible has been translated, that is almost guaranteed some of it was not done accurately, either intentional or not. And it's quite possible the former is true. You have too much of a binary view. That doesn't mean every person that was involved had malicious intent. Though in the several hundred years after Christ's physical death, there was quite potentially a heavy desire to.
Plus, you called me a heretic. You directly attacked me. Don't tuck tail after you throw stones. Manipulation is worse than lying.
You just showed your completely ignorant without translations work. It's been translated ONCE.... From one of these three original languages the scripture was written in, to the language it's translated into.
You're making me telephone game fallacy.
You clearly don't understand what you're talking about and this is an elementary grade level misunderstanding of how translations work. As I said initially you don't understand the science of textual transmission and you've clearly confirmed that for me.
Heretic means you hold a position (an idea or argument) that is heretical Manning a conflicts with Christianity. That is not a personal attack that is a rejection of ideas.
You are obviously not equipped for this conversation. You think you are, but you're not.
No, I'm not saying that, God's word says that. I'm just standing on God's Word since I'm not idiotic enough to put my personal feelings above the creator of the universe.
I'll lay out the full arguments here and I'll first remind you that this is very gendered language that is ALWAYS speaking of a man.
The only times in Scripture we see women in any type of leadership role was a sign of judgment from God. (You need to think in the context of the culture at that time. Women were not even considered reliable witnesses and it was shameful to have a woman leading anything thing)
The Bible outlines clear qualifications for pastors (also referred to as elders, overseers, or shepherds) in several passages, primarily in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9, and 1 Peter 5:1–4. These passages describe both character traits and spiritual responsibilities that align with God’s standards for church leadership. Below is a summary of the biblical requirements:
1 Timothy 3:1–7
This passage focuses on the moral and spiritual qualifications for overseers:
Above Reproach: HE must be free from legitimate accusation of wrongdoing.
Husband of One Wife: Faithful and devoted in marriage.
Sober-Minded: Balanced in judgment, not given to extremes.
Self-Controlled: Exhibits mastery over his personal impulses.
Respectable: Displays honorable and dignified behavior.
Hospitable: Welcoming and generous to others.
Able to Teach: Capable of faithfully instructing and defending sound doctrine.
HE must not be a Drunkard: Avoids excessive use of alcohol.
Not Violent but Gentle: Handles conflicts with grace, avoiding aggression.
Not Quarrelsome: Avoids unnecessary disputes and fosters peace.
Not a Lover of Money: Demonstrates contentment and integrity regarding wealth.
HE manages His Household Well: Leads his family with discipline and care, serving as an example.
Not a Recent Convert: Maturity in the faith to avoid pride or instability.
Well-Thought-of by Outsiders: HE has a good reputation even among non-believers.
Titus 1:5–9
Paul provides similar qualifications for elders in Crete, emphasizing their doctrinal soundness:
Above Reproach: As in 1 Timothy, blamelessness is key.
Husband of One Wife: Again, marital faithfulness is critical.
Children Are Believers: Elders must disciple his children effectively.
Not Arrogant: Humility and a servant’s heart are essential.
Not Quick-Tempered: Demonstrates patience and restraint.
Not a Drunkard or Violent: Avoids sinful behaviors tied to anger or substance abuse.
Not Greedy for Gain: Free from covetousness.
Hospitable: Open and caring toward others.
A Lover of Good: Seeks and promotes virtue and righteousness.
Self-Controlled, Upright, Holy, and Disciplined: Exemplifies Christian virtues.
Firm in the Word: Holds fast to sound doctrine, able to teach and refute error.
1 Peter 5:1–4
Peter highlights the shepherding responsibilities of elders:
Shepherd the Flock Willingly: Serve out of love for Christ, not under compulsion.
Not for Shameful Gain: Avoid using ministry as a means for financial or selfish benefit.
Not Domineering but Leading by Example: Exercise authority with humility and as a role model.
Await the Unfading Crown of Glory: Serve with eternity in view, seeking God’s approval.
Theological and Practical Summary
These qualifications emphasize that pastors and elders must be spiritually mature, morally upright, and doctrinally sound MEN who lead both their households and their congregations faithfully. Their character reflects Christ, their teaching upholds Scripture, and their leadership displays humility and care. These standards underscore that the church is Christ’s body and must be led by those who honor Him and His Word.
So ask yourself what societal DEI practices, that pushed the leadership of women into all aspects of life, have made good changes to society?
If you see my point than ask yourself if an omnipotent God, who left instructions for us to follow for our best society, may have already known that women would cloud our vision and that would be bad in the long run.
Stop defending what we want as individuals over what God says. We are all imperfect and need Gods word to guide us. Period.
Men run the world and men have f***ed it up. Weak or corrupt men blame women for their blunders. Typical of what Evil does to divide us all and the "men vs. women" is the oldest trick that Satan pulls.
They want us divided by sex, race, religion, class etc.
Remember?
My point remains. The Bible gives us guide lines to help us. We ignore Him to our peril. We’ve ignored Him and made ourselves God. THAT is my opinion. You be you and you pay that price. Right now we are speaking to the subject of what God says and whether woman should lead. My opinion is when women lead I have felt pain. Sorry if you don’t see that because you are offended.
The "guidelines" you point out are declarations by men, not God.
I'm just pointing out facts that it is butthurt women hating men who are deceived by Satan that are offended by the "lowly" woman being just as important to God's plan as men are.
The human race as created by God should be supporting each other. God commands this.
Bro (correction) Ma’am,,, men have been running the world for EONS and look where we are today.

**That said, I don’t blame a gender for what has happened in our society. This crap has been going on forever with each next generation of tyrants building on the last.

No I do not believe women should be in leaderships roles. Don’t you know sarcasm when you read it?
I believe we are where we are because of women. Not men. Obviously you believe women are omnipotent. Like Gods.
If by chance a woman gets to a leadership role, they better deserve it. And they better demonstrate their leadership is based on merit and metrics not emotions. I want to see it!
I’m with you. Inasmuch as the Bible speaks the truth confirmed by the spirit it can be trusted. Were it does not, well…Jesus didn’t say he would send a book to guide us, but the Holy Ghost. Unfortunately most prefer a book, and doubt their own ability to hear the voice of the spirit, and love having something to point to in order to to bolster their arguments so the idolatry of the book persists.
Muslims have this formalised in their laws. Females are legally second-class citizens in comparison to men. They have to obey men and behave themselves and can legally be killed if they tempt men to rape them or anything like that. They are not allowed to drive cars. Mostly they have to wear completely covering black outfits.
That bishop sure is creepy but it's not the way I want things to be with women which is why I don't live in a Muslim country.

Many things to shit on with Islam but they are out breeding us cause of their patriarchal culture.
We don’t need to go full Islam about it but people of North Atlantic descent need to go back to traditional values and remove feminism if we want to save the west.
I never said they need to be slaves. I said literally what you said. We need to go back to traditional values and normalize women being stay at home moms again.
Sir -- you're going to get nowhere with this debate if your sole focus is on the "breeding" capabilities of women. Hint: women do not like to be viewed in the same fashion as livestock.
So happens I think this female "bishop" is a whack job and I am not overly thrilled with the thought of a female member of the clergy. So I agree with you on that.
But not all women have to be moms. Some women can't for health reasons. Some women never meet the right man. (And it is better to never marry than to marry someone who will cause you problems -- so don't think women should marry just to increase the population!)
Nevertheless -- God gives each of us gifts and to not utilize them is an insult to the Almighty. I don't happen to think a woman should sit home scrubbing out toilets if God gave her the intelligence and desire to do more with her life.
If she can become a great surgeon let her do so and be glad for the lives she will save. I don't see why you'd even want someone with the brains, talent, and desire to do more with her life to sweep floors and clean toilets so a "husband" can feel he's in charge. Makes no sense to me at all.
Children are wonderful. I have two and I love them dearly. My best friend never had any. She decided when she was 18 that she didn't want children. She made the right decision for her.
I love her dearly but she would have been a terrible mother. She has a cold, aloof, aspect to her personality that would have made any child feel unloved. So don't assume being "female" guarantees a woman will be "maternal". It doesn't. Luckily, my friend knew herself well enough to know she wouldn't be good at the job and opted out.
Yet Jesus commanded a woman to be the first to teach the Good News that He had risen.
What you say is ridiculous and not of God's Word. That is the declaration of men.
Thank you! I just don't get how people disregard half of the human race based on how the Creator designed them. We are all Created in the image of Him and commanded to be each other's support/helper.
Satan surely loves this division!
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Using NT acknowledgement of obedience to OT law, from the pen of the Apostle Paul. Context added before and after. This is not the only passage. There are several.
Do I enforce this limitation? No. Should anyone? I tend to believe that we should all submit ourselves to such things voluntarily. It says what it says. Right now we have churches advocating sodomy as godly. We know they are wrong. It is thusly displayed how churches can come into error. How would we know if we were in error?
Frankly, I don’t even worry about this yet as I have larger faults of my own remaining to address, but the scripture is the scripture. u/Munchaussen is correct.
Paul is NOT God. His words are the words of a man.
Mary Magdalene delivered a message. Is that not what Pastors, Preachers, Priests, etc. do? Spread the Good News? Jesus commanded Mary to do this and did not ask for a man to do it because it makes no difference.
Women are the FIRST teachers of men.
Which of the Ten Commandments say women are subject to the whim of men?
That IS the Word of God. Which one?
Absolutely! Remember, God created man. THen created woman 2nd. A rib taken from the body of the man. Man is the spiritual authority and is supposed to love the wife as Jesus loved the church.
Another passage that also says how women are not allowed to teach or to assume authority over a man and should be quiet.
Timothy 2:11–12
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet."
Don’t lump all of us together. I was abandoned by my husband when my son was five. I raised him as a single working mom. He was a good kid who graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
You are the exception. Single dads usually fuck up their kids pretty bad as well. Me and my siblings are living proof! My mom abandoned us as toddlers.
Generally, It works well as a team. Mom for the unconditional love and nurturing. Dad for the push to greatness!
You are a Great mother that took on the role of both! Most humans cannot or are unwilling to do this because it is extremely difficult.
Er... I didn't lump you all together and I admire the single moms who raised their kids right. That's why I used the word often in my comments. I was unfortunate in that my mother and both my sisters were terrible mothers.
Again Hats off to the mothers who do a good job while going it alone
Duh? Scripture (the Bible) is the Word of God. While interpretation, by man, because of changes in language may allow for minor inconsistencies in meaning; the significant issues are clear.
People that believe this are the actual problem.
THEY certainly feel that a traditional woman is less than the career women. Right?
What this argument boils down to women not thinking a trad role gets them the respect they think they deserve.
If families didnt have the bills they do many would choose to stay home. They are forced into the working outside of the home role. Then they have to become feminists to act like they worst forced but chose it.
Gods word doesn’t say women can’t speak their opinion out of public, be respected by their husbands and the husbands take their concerns forward. The men should retain the final decision because men tend to be less emotional then women. It’s been proven over the last 4 years that emotions when making decisions about policy, hurt us all.
Wouldn’t it just be easier for us to learn from Gods word rather than live through bad experiences every generation.
I think a conversation all “”thinking”” Christians should have at some point in their journey is
“were some of Paul’s writings at odds with the words/themes of Jesus?”.
I don’t think you’re right in this specific case, and Paul can be reconciled with the rest of the scripture, but I tend to agree with your point overall.
That "bishop" wearing an anhk is all you need to know.
She must be a big Logan's Run fan. :-p
What a dog.
Pagan! Pagan!

The proper biblical roles put restrictions and demands on both men and women.
No church branch I know of teaches them. Maybe Pentecostal?
So when the Catholic Priest do it in secrecy its better?
They both are satanic.
Q has established the Catholic Church / Pope are evil. That is a fact.
I am not arguing that but I agree that the Catholic Church is now possessed by evil.
Islam is purely Satanic in nature from it's conception and it is also a political ideology disguised as a religion.
Make women great again (we have beautiful roles God intended is to be in, that’s when we are at our best and shine)
But not in the clergy. Woman can teach other women, but not men.
Yet Jesus commanded a woman to be the first to teach the Good News that He had risen.
What you say is ridiculous and not of God's Word. That is the declaration of men.
I was just about to speak on Magdalene!
Well Said🦾
Thank you! I just don't get how people disregard half of the human race based on how the Creator designed them. We are all Created in the image of Him and commanded to be each other's support/helper. Satan surely loves this division!
Deliver a message. Not teach.
1 Corinthians 14
Using NT acknowledgement of obedience to OT law, from the pen of the Apostle Paul. Context added before and after. This is not the only passage. There are several.

Specific attention to the quote by Dan Doriani.
Which one?
You are saying you have no argument as I have stated the facts. Now you resort to name calling. LOL
I meant in the household ❤️🙏🏻
Absolutely! Remember, God created man. THen created woman 2nd. A rib taken from the body of the man. Man is the spiritual authority and is supposed to love the wife as Jesus loved the church.
Another passage that also says how women are not allowed to teach or to assume authority over a man and should be quiet.
Timothy 2:11–12 "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet."
God does not declare these things, men who do hate women.
The closer you get to the target…the more flak you encounter. Fighter pilot adage. Your downvotes confirm you are over target.
Wrong, men declare that women are beneath them, God does not.
My wife is my bride, my queen, and I hold her in hi esteem, even above myself. She makes me whole.
We should all treat our spouses with that same respect for each other. It is what God intended for His creation!
The Satanic lie of men being declared dominant over women or vice versa is an age old tactic of division and chaos by the Father of Lies.
So, the Bible?

Neat.
This would cause a lot of resentment in women. Remember who prepares your meals. Just sayin'.
And Single moms often fuck up their kids, even to the point of cutting off appendages.
Again Hats off to the mothers who do a good job while going it alone
with all the talk about female priests , where are the male nuns? inquiring minds and all that...
*Monks?
This guy gets it.
As if male bishops are not satanic as well? The scripture above was written by man, not God. Men who hated women existed back then as well.
Duh? Scripture (the Bible) is the Word of God. While interpretation, by man, because of changes in language may allow for minor inconsistencies in meaning; the significant issues are clear.
You have proven my point. Men have declared that women are beneath them, God does not say this.
I think not. God defines the relationship between man and woman and they have different roles.
Different roles, both are equal in the presence of God from whom we are given free will.
Equal, not. . .equally important.
It looks like Damien's 'nanny' from The Omen
Eye bleach sales skyrocket...
Definitely not one of Paul’s greater moments.
I think a conversation all “”thinking”” Christians should have at some point in their journey is “were some of Paul’s writings at odds with the words/themes of Jesus?”.
Paulianity vs. Christianity🤔
I don’t think you’re right in this specific case, and Paul can be reconciled with the rest of the scripture, but I tend to agree with your point overall.
Are we sure she is a woman?
