I think a big problem of SWATTing is that the law enforcement response is so predictable and dangerous. Instead of law enforcement evaluating the situation and making judgment calls, they're busting down peoples' doors, screaming at them, and pointing guns at them. If an anonymous caller is saying something crazy like, "A man already shot his kid and is threatening to shoot his wife", it might make sense for an officer or two attempting to gauge the situation and see if the story matches what was said on the phone..
Also, the punishment for SWATTing should be the same as attempted murder.

There should be no anonymous calls on this stuff, especially now that we know it has been weaponized. If you're telling the truth then there should be no problem with saying who you are. However you're depending on the cops to not tell the perp your info, so I see both sides.

And to bring every single police officer up to the level that they can all perform SWAT duties might not be a cost-effective solution, both in terms of the limited manpower pool (SWAT officers are typically not Officer Donuts) and the cost to supply and train all of the officers.

And those were just the ones I found after a grand total of two minutes of searching.
And to try to silence them others like them, who might then think twice before speaking out and making themselves possible targets of the psycho libs who would punish them and their families with this dangerous and traumatic experience.
Man we really do need to start seeing some public arrests, if only for future deterrents. This is attempted murder after all and an Infowars journalist is already dead this week ffs.

Honestly it's pretty simple- I don't think there should be any SWAT units at all, and those should mostly be dealt with by militia

There should be another way to handle it tho. If SWAT shows up and it's a quiet, lazy neighborhood, surely they can learn various approaches.
