I still have to look up my own cell phone number :) I think it is a sub-conscious effort to not TOTALLY be part of the present cell-phone dependent generation :)
I used to get ones that stuck on the dash or the window until I got a car that had a compass built in. If I ever got lost when going for a ride, I knew that if I headed north, I would hit the lake and could find my way home from there.
Tbh, one of them said the Pentagon was a square and another one was curious, she didn't know Canada HAD borders?
Flat earthers would be like Confucius to these people.
....No, even more. Lex Luther after splicing the 🧠of Confucius, Aristotle and Plato with his own and achieving brain power levels OVER 9000.
::sigh:: It now saddens me to realize they would miss the DragonBall Z joke entirely and ask me if the Weeknd ever toured with 'that Lex Looter guy.' 🤔
How the hell are we going to reeducate this lost generation? I think of my own son and his friends and I guess they’re not all this uninformed. But still the DOE has made a pretty good run at dumbing Americans down.
We taught kids the only thing they got is housing. Everything else they better work for it.
When that happened, entertainment is church because they get to go play with others, and sometimes scholarship to go to camp. It's a win-win situation.
There was a whole generation that faced this; I believe it was Germany or Eastern Bloc countries.
Basic education had been politicized leaving an ignorant generation that spouted the party line.
What was done in that case? The devastation of their world helped, because they had no choice, but there had to be more. Anyone an educator here? Did things like voice of America play a part?
Interesting and good question! I was hoping you had some feedback. I know the movement to home school has gotten really big. I sent my son to a Waldorf school which teaches very differently more old school. Many parents were deciding between home schooling and Waldorf at the time.
I tutor math. I work with college students since I am within 10 miles of two division I universities. You would not believe how bad incoming freshmen are at math. I work with a 25-year-old taking basic math. Last week, he took an exam my daughter could have passed in third grade.
Bud Light should offer a quiz and win free beer. Have 500 questions they can be prepared with the right answers. None of these people seem to ever think for themselves.
That is actually an outstanding idea. They could announce it for next year and tell the kids to prepare. Maybe they would actually learn something for a change - even if it is just to drink free piss water.
Seriously - you should submit that idea to InBev (or whatever they are known as now).
Thanks for your comment. A little carrot to get the kids to learn some American History. It might get them excited about learning again. They could have PREP parties before they head back down to Spring break.
They're raised to be stupid, and taught to be nothing at all...
Even during high school, I know most of the questions. Sad.
Ask the same questions to girls back in 1952 and you will not only get the correct answer, they would have made you a great lunch while telling you.
LOL. Most likely true.
"It was a CIVIL War, so it had to be fought between the civilians and whoever was in power." 😯
Welp... I was going to give points for her attempt to use context clues....
But then it dawned on me that she believed there was a distinction between "people in power" and "civilians" and so sadly, I couldn't. 😆
I think I would have been happier if she went with "a polite war" or something similar, to be honest. 🤣 Lord help us all.
Yes, pray for our Lord Jesus help.
But hates the Confederate flag lol.
It may be to late for this age group, but i pray the young ones still have a chance.
too bad it wasn't strip history, the bikini babes would have all been naked after two questions....
LOL
Your user name definitely is appropriate here. No sarc/
Is this because the internet has easy access to all the questions and they don’t feel a need to remember anything anymore?
I do this with locations to an extent. The GPS finds it for me. No map required.
For me it's phone numbers. In my teens and 20's I had dozens and dozens of phone numbers to memory. I barely got my own down now.
I still have to look up my own cell phone number :) I think it is a sub-conscious effort to not TOTALLY be part of the present cell-phone dependent generation :)
I deliberately don't use GPS so I don't lose my sense of direction.
I don't use it either, I still use paper maps.
Although I do like having the compass on the car dashboard.
That sounds like a good idea.
I used to get ones that stuck on the dash or the window until I got a car that had a compass built in. If I ever got lost when going for a ride, I knew that if I headed north, I would hit the lake and could find my way home from there.
I use Waze for long drives so I know where to slow down.
That could be.
Cool it guys, there are some here that believe the earth is flat. KEK

Kek. The Jew-dic-al branch. I'm just now laughing at the hidden joke in that.
I do. I am a brain-dead. Jury still out.
Those are the internet's future "influencers."
I used to think no one could be that stupid or ignorant, but time and again I've been proven wrong.
This is what you get with "No Child Left Behind."
These are future democrats who will fight against anyone the telescreen tells them to.
Oh yes. That's right.
How the hell are we going to reeducate this lost generation? I think of my own son and his friends and I guess they’re not all this uninformed. But still the DOE has made a pretty good run at dumbing Americans down.
If you make your son pay for everything he wants, except for housing, he will learn math really quick.
As far as reading and science, that's harder. You have to be interested.
Absolutely! We cover basic necessities and he covers the rest. Kids should have jobs and jobs in the house as well.
We taught kids the only thing they got is housing. Everything else they better work for it.
When that happened, entertainment is church because they get to go play with others, and sometimes scholarship to go to camp. It's a win-win situation.
Reading: written porn. Science is harder.
Oh. I see what you mean.
There was a whole generation that faced this; I believe it was Germany or Eastern Bloc countries.

We all know they name these institutions opposite of what they're intended to be.
Department of Indoctrination
Yes, you are right.
I didn't even know it was this bad.
yes.
DOE, dumbing down education since 1979!
Wow. That far back....
I'm OLD!
Young at heart.
They should've named it "D'oh!"
Young and dumb and full of cum
howls.
Probably both genders.
They should also ask "who is buried in Grant's Tomb". LOL
OMG, I remember that from when I was a kid and I'm almost 66 now! 😄
Would be Grant, right?
I tutor math. I work with college students since I am within 10 miles of two division I universities. You would not believe how bad incoming freshmen are at math. I work with a 25-year-old taking basic math. Last week, he took an exam my daughter could have passed in third grade.
They don't even know how to add or subtract fractions, right?
Not only that, they can’t reduce a fraction.
Of course not.
Aw, that's just the Jello shots talkin'. /s
LOL
Jello shots on a beach just sound bad unless you like gritty jello.

No, no, no, Elon Musk gotta be forced hire 'Murrican only! Work visa's are the devil!
LOL
They dont think they need to know anything, they skate through life asking google. Which has been mostly true, but hopefully not for too long
That's true.
We have reached the apex of idiocracy - Good Lord I hope!
Use the word "top" - apex is too big for them.
Yes.
OMG that was painful.
LOL
omfg scary lol
I have something else. Who is controlling teachers union? CIA.
Yea, a little Mockingbird told me.
