Decades. Made a lot of businesses i know hurt. I used to word for a 3rd generation cabinet maker years ago. We made high quality, durable, long lasting cabinetry. And when the cheap Chinese stuff started coming out, our work slowly started to dry up.
I was shocked to learn (at least here in New England), that when you order a grave stone / marker, you pick out from a catalog and they ship the raw stone to China to be shaped / chiseled or if the stone is local to China, they quarry it there.
In what world is the costs to ship a 100 - 300 lb stone around the world twice cheaper than sourcing and chiseling it here?
