FL's roads have been dangerous since I first started driving them at 15. But all the illegals don't help any.
This country needs to start jailing th business owners who hire all these illegals, too. Once that starts happening and the illegals figure out they can't get jobs any more, they'll quit coming here and start self deporting.
Things are making more sense as all this is exposed.
Years ago, my company hired a really cheap freight forwarder to move a 2,000 lb piece of equipment that I had to ship from New England down to N. Carolina.
Communication directly with the trucker was non-existent, as my instructions were very clear as to how I would need to meet him and let him into our secured lot.
The guy showed up an hour early as I remember seeing a random freight truck parked across the street, but he never called me to connect and I didn't know if he was there for some other business.
I call the Freight office and they tell me the trucker left because he couldn't get in the lot. They wanted to charge me for not getting him access. I told them he never called. They quickly changed their story to say that he only left to get more gas. 🙄
Now I'm on the look-out and as soon as the dolt pulls up, I run out to meet him. From up in his cab, with broken English he says he doesn't know where to go (It was in the instructions). I let him in and to my shock, this tall white guy hops down from his cab in flip-flops, swim trunks and a yellow wife beater tank-top with stains.
He opens the back and he only has a MANUAL pallet jack to manhandle an ornery 2,000 lb piece of machinery. Now I'm worried that this guy is going to get hurt trying to haul this in flip flops. He reassures me that it's no problem, but shortly thereafter manages to crash into the door frame and damage the trim.
While riding the elevator he tells me he's from Serbia.
This guy shoved the equipment onto the hydraulic lift gate and as he starts raising the platform, the load shifts and the manual pallet jack is starting to roll towards me. He grabs the handle to change the direction and I lunge towards it to keep it away from the edge (Not smart on my part I know 😕 but I was desperate to be done with this guy and job).
Amazingly he knew that he had to lower the equipment to prevent it from rolling before he tried to lift the platform any higher.
Somehow the equipment was delivered safely to NC. 🥵

Always an unpopular opinion, but my state has no authority to issue a driver’s license. Maybe Florida does, but I doubt it.
The federal government definitely doesn’t have the authority. It does however have the power to regulate the guests that come in and what they can do while they’re here.
It isn’t more or less safe because a law is tied to it. The roads are getting crazier because you have a people that are increasingly about ME than do unto others.
It saddens me when I thought this whole movement was to get back to constitutional ground.
Quit using the emotional argument that, since someone is bypassing that arbitrary bullshit that I had to put up with, it should be enforced harder.
Drove over the road, class A, for 19 years. Had every endorsement except p. Have a million mile certificate with one company, and driver of the year. Was even recognized by cargil with a certificate, and never worked for cargil.
Seen a lot of crazy stuff in those miles, and none of it was or would be prevented, by a law.

Over last 30 years I noticed the language being broken until you cannot understand a word. Drivers struggling to back up their loads and chock tires.
Drivers in their jogging suits and flip-flops is the norm. Even pulling out a little carpet and praying to their god of choice has happened.
Leaving urine bottles behind was final straw for me.
Now we know why our freeways are so dangerous.

I'm so on board with this. They need to understand the penalties of destroying this country to save a couple of dollars.
A lot of the increased risk is the Trucks coming from South of the Border too isn't it because they aren't maintained very well maybe.

At the time, it didn't cross my mind that he couldn't read English. I assumed that his company just didn't share my instructions.
I know first hand how the illegals drive cars here in New England will little consequence, so I imagine there is a fair percentage of truckers also.
My trucker neighbor said he saw AR put them in cuffs and took them away if they could not speak, read or write.

I believe in enforcing immigration. Come here legally and drive legally would be good because then, the person would know enough to read road signs.
