WATCH: 62-Year-Old Woman Charged for Driving Through Anti-ICE Protesters Who Were Surrounding and Pounding on Her Car in New Jer...
A 62-year-old woman has been charged after driving through a crowd of anti-ICE protesters who surrounded and began pounding on her car in New Jersey.
Chalk up New Jersey as a place I don't care to live in then :) - charges or not, if I'm threatened by a mob while driving I'm plowing through just the same.
at which point this further enrages the mob
best just to stay away
You are implying she intentionally drove down a road she knew to be blocked. That wouldn't be my assumption at all. She did the right thing, fuck these people and let them be enraged, they don't own the road.
i don’t support this mob behavior either.
it damages their brand image
instead of persuading people to their side
they turn public opinion against their cause
often, these agitators are brought in specifically to cause trouble and divert the topic
There could be a lot reasons she needed to be in the area. The anti-ICE protestors need not block traffic, and, of course, they shouldn't. But these idiots don't follow the laws. They deserve to be run off the road or injured for blocking it. Do you expect the Ambulance coming to your house (maybe) to stop and wait for the protestors to move?
I grew up in the ghetto
now you could walk thru the ghetto on a hot summer night,
on a friday,
on the 1st of the month…
after the alcohol is flowing …
you have every right to walk thru the ghetto if you think you need to…
but i would advise against it
You may know a lot better than me. At least you seem to have made it out of the endless chain of government handouts. At least I hope so.
yes sir, gainfully employed thank God
the ghetto sucks for any young person trying to better themselves. theres just not that much opportunity.
there may be some opportunity for some people,
but theres few opportunities for many peoples
What puzzles me, as a resident of the sane state of Tennessee, is how sane people living in blue states CONTINUE to live there. They must know that these states offer them little protection, and constantly work against their best interests.
Money.
It takes a lot to move.
Yes, I suppose it does.
Yes.
They are in bidding wars in TN going way over the value of the homes.
Yes, we've noticed that too. We originally bought our house in 1993 for $116,000, a fair price at the time. We added on a sizeable sunroom and made some home improvements, and recently were told by some real estate friends that we could put our house on the market for $500K... wow.... not that we would do so, we like where we live, and would have to find another house at inflated prices if we stayed in this area of west Knox County. We could find less expensive housing if we looked outside this county, but it would necessitate a long drive every time we wanted to go to our various activities... so no thanks. We're happy where we are.
I completely understand because I've been watching the market in order to buy and I'm not going to pay $300,000 plus for a mobile home.
At some point things should correct themselves unless I can find a great buy I continue to keep looking there.
Yes, slowly the housing market is catching up with new construction going on everywhere there is an empty lot. I fear we're going to turn into the thing I hate, New York City, but there will always be unspoiled countryside we can escape to if it gets too crowded here.
Amen.
I really want to move there, and your real estate buddies have been trying to help.
The cost of living there is so high that you cannot afford to leave. Also, to get a place in a new town, you need a job in that town. To get a job, you need a place most of the time unless you are a travelling worker like an OTR trucker.
Or, sell at the inflated rate, move to where you want to be or where you get a job you like, and rent until you find a buyable place. If you're 60+, maybe consider doing your best to cash out, set up a temporary rental and want investment fund that you can, and start looking for cruise ships to live on...
I rent. I have never been able to do anything but rent.
I live in Virginia, a non-NOVA part. It’s a beautiful state and it’s my husband’s beloved ancestral home. We like living where we live and the people we live around. We have considered moving an hour away to NC but they’re always on the edge of flipping blue. We have hope our state will flip red. It’s always in the edge but proximity to DC keeps f’ing us up. This year we vote for governor. It will be Youngkin’s asst governor Winsome Sears, black, solid, common-sense conservative against Dem x CIA “case worker” Abigail Spanberger.
Your NC neighbor here will happily kick in to Winsome Sears' campaign. We'd love to have you, but if you're happy and there's good chances things will improve, I agree with you, stay there. Only reason to move in that case is for family.
Thanks! We love NC. Son and daughter-in-law to be live there.
Good luck!
Family - the only thing worth anything is family/friends. Where's your support network live? Theirs?
Money. Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina etc aren't such a bargain anymore. Real estate is 4 TIMES what it was 10 years ago... like $800k+ for a ghey barndominium on 2 acres...under high tension lines? No thanks. It's WAY overpriced - especially since the California migration.
Convenience/proximity to whatever you want. Say what you want but you're 2-3 hours to NYC, Philly, DC, the beach, the mountains, farm country, camping whatever you can think of AND you don't have to drive an hour to get ALL your shopping done - with multiple store options - whether that's for horse feed, steel or the butcher shop and grocery store.
NJ isn't at all what you've seen on TV... especially the southern half. Besides... Pizza Hut and wonder bread ain't gonna cut it... We've got the best seafood, produce and meats available in the country. Food choice and access to premium food is a big deal to some of us.
BTW screw GWP- an absolute dumpster fire of a website when viewed on a phone
They probably live in quaint suburbs and secretly vote dem
SCOTUS should rule unilaterally on self defense and end this madness in state law.
forget the Constitution 😆
Cun... sorry I mean the protestors should be charged for the damages.
Prosecutors better hope there isn't someone like me on that jury.
These judicial communists are the reason I changed my voter affiliation from Republican to Independent.
Now I get picked for juries.
The key to jury nullification is to stay engaged. A judge can remove a juror that refuses to participate in the jury process. But, if you keep arguing with the rest of the jurors, trying to persuade, in a calm, respectful manner, there's nothing the judge or other jurors can do. At a certain point exhaustion sets in. Then they acquit. Or declare a mis-trial.
I, and others like me, are the last line of defense ... before the shooting starts.
This is a bare bones minimum of where we should be in the civic processes, but a vital line to hold. Kek up the good work, pede.
Your Honor. I identify as a Floridian.
Of course, this state loves to back the crazy libs. Thanks NJ. Your EZ Pass sucks, your self defense laws suck, everything here sucks. However the only song me and my Fiancee will be singing is "Country Roads". In the words of my girl "I'd rather deal with some slack jaw Yank making booze in his tub than whatever the fuck new Jersey is bloody on about!"
Article states, "New Jersey does not have a “stand your ground” law; instead, there is a general duty to retreat if it can be done safely before using force."
Why would this apply to the driver, instead of the protestors standing in harm's way in the street? They should be the ones to retreat, for the love of common sense!
Then run them over in reverse. Your Honor... I was retreating.
🤣🤣🤣
If I'm on that jury, she was clearly retreating for her life.
In Texas, if protesters surround your car and are threatening... we have a right to defend ourselves by hitting the gas and escaping by running over protesters if necessary.
No charges... unless you back up and hit a few a 2nd time.
Say hello to a future Florida resident.
Well it is New Jersey.
The same thing happened to a older woman in Indianapolis during the 2000 riots, she was charged too! only difference was protesters were on the hood of her car beating the windshield, Indianapolis Marion County, Prosecutor Ryan Mears, (D), Soro's backed, charged this scared lady!
She did that in a state where the leaders worship Satan.
Hey, TNbanjoman, I'm wondering if you are seeing a changing demographic in your area. I live in the Branson MO area and have noticed a HUGE influx of black folks into this area. For years the Hispanics have been moving here for job opportunities, with all sorts of buildings going up, the indigenous population was too sparse to fill in all the gaps. Now, the Hispanics are moving out and the blacks are moving in. There is nothing in this area for them to glom onto, though. The country music shows are basically run and manned by whites, so the blacks don't have an "in" there. The fast food restaurants have a lot of Asians behind the counters now, thus the blacks don't really work in that industry, either. So I guess they move here for the ability to live off a higher level of welfare. I wonder if that is the same in your area? Twenty years ago you could go all day without seeing one black person, now, for whatever reason, where ever you turn, there is a family or group wandering around Walmart or on a sidewalk. Weird.
Play more country music but start putting in classical and opera, most of them hate that for some reason...
Court stuff aside, these screaming psychos will target and harass this poor soul relentlessly. If anyone nearby can offer support... 🙏
