Iโm sorry Iโm still caught up on the POTUS once again outright telling us, people we are taught to TRUST are actually TRYING TO HARM US saying they are โsaving usโโฆ.
Offshore windmills have also killed Whales and Dolphins, and God only knows what other sea creatures. The Whales and Dolphins are the only ones that wash ashore.
Well. Michigan has a lot of farm land that has been taken for windmills and solar farms. They are ugly, dangerous, and unhealthy. There was a lot of pros and cons on these for sure. I never understood why the farmers would be In favor of destroying their beautiful farmland, but probably the money they get. Hope they can restore to what it once looked like. The thumb of Michigan is full of them.
They pay farmers an obsene amount of money for the solar fields. They offered a relative of mine 120 dollars an acre per month for a bit over a thousand acres. That is to lease the land 20 years. He told them no thanks. His neighbor didnt. Now there is ine less cattle ranch in the cou ty.
My little area of NJ used to be home to many family farms. Now there are condos, housing developments, and McMansions which are a blight on a once beautiful place. There are no more roadside vegetable and fruit stands in the summer, very few places to ride horses, and an increase in car traffic that is nearly unbearable. I want to go somewhere more rural, but my husband loves living near the ocean. I am starting to truly hate where we live.
I'm sorry for you. Our area has grown all around us but right where we are is still very rural and country. Always loved the country, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Always had a beautiful garden that my husband loved working in ,and I canned a lot of green beans and froze a lot of sweet corn over the years. The last few years no garden , husband has parkinsons, and I can't keep up with it all any more. A home can still be wonderful if you have a lot of love. Blessings to you, my friend.
Thank you for the very kind words. I grew up in the area where I currently live, and there were so many farms, lots of horses, wooded areas, and it was calm and quiet. Real estate values are now sky high, and people with money have turned the small towns into mini cities with traffic, over building and everything feels so crowded. On the plus side, selling would give us a very nice profit, and we could buy at least a few acres somewhere more rural. Blessings to you as well. I'm sorry you can't keep up with the gardening, it such a peaceful joy, but seems like your home is full of love.
I think no windmills is Don Quixote coms, "not tilting (jousting) at windmills", futile effort, evidence of insanity.
But they shouldn't remove all windmills, the ones on I65 in Indiana are the only way I know my exit is coming up for getting White Castle cheeseburgers.
Just drove across the heartland to my hometown in the Great Plains. The hideous windmills have polluted the landscape with their eerie, slow-spinning behemoth bird-killing forms. They span as far as the eye can see.
The economy now revolves around them, and their construction invades the roadways. Awful in every way.
Well well we shall see! The farmers who are receiving lifetime subsidies for leasing their rights to the air that power the windmills will be upset. This could get interesting!
I think the "positives" will include discontinuation of any federal subsidy to wind power. The power companies would be faced with the economic reality of this crappy power source. I understand their lifespans are not long, and they cannot be remediated, only disassembled and buried. And the farmers will have their land again.
I don't really understand the hate for windmills. The middle of America has massive wind energy potential and if we as a country want to have energy independence, isn't it a good idea to tap as many sources as possible?
It's such a passive form of energy production it seems dumb to discount it.
Tbh, the "THEY KILL THE BIRDS" argument is stupid AF. if you think birds can't see or hear a GIANT ROTATING BLADE in the middle of a field, I've got a bridge to sell you. Anyone who has spent time in nature would be able to tell you that birds are highly tuned in to their surroundings and would be able to recognize that a windmill is something to avoid.
Yes, that's why sometimes they fly right into the big picture window of a house lol. Do you live near any of these montrosities? They are way up into the air, and are ugly. If a person wants a windmill on their property, go for it. We don't need acres and acres of them.
Yes, a big picture window that doesn't move, make any noise, and reflects it's surroundings which makes it appear like more nature... It's the same as running into a wall inside a house of mirrors.
Tbh, the "THEY KILL THE BIRDS" argument is stupid AF. if you think birds can't see or hear a GIANT ROTATING BLADE in the middle of a field, I've got a bridge to sell you.
Don't hunt do you? As a 72 year old lifelong waterfowl and upland hunter I can assure you birds can see them. That's the problem, birds are drawn to the flashing of the blades. Ever hear of a Mojo-Duck. Basically it's a duck decoy on a pole with spinning wings. Another version is the Mojo-Big Blade which is simply a plain white blade that spins. Ducks and geese are drawn to them like iron filing to a magnet. To the point that they are illegal in some states. There are also versions for doves. I've hunted over them a few times but I didn't like the extra advantage they gave the hunter. I saw ducks drawn from far away fly right into the spinning wings on the decoy. It's like they are hypnotized.
Are you seriously trying to compare a duck decoy to an industrial wind turbine?
The reason those draw ducks to them (aside from the fact that they literally have a fake duck body) is because those blades are designed to mimic the size and motion of a ducks wings...
I really really really hope you don't honestly believe that because one draws ducks to it, that the other will just because they overlap in their basic mechanical descriptions.
Yes I am. And if you can't see the fact that it isn't the size it's the flash that attracts them then you are stuck on stupid. The original version is the most effective and it's just a large flat blade that spins. The blades are anywhere from 5' long to in some permanently built cases 12' long. Ever seen a duck with a 12' wingspan. And like I said earlier, if you don't shoot and scare the duck they often just fly right into the blade. Ever hear of flagging geese? Where guys stand out in a field with a large white cloth tied to a pole and they wave it back and forth in the air to bring geese in.
Waterfowl and raptors have some of the best eyesight in the animal kingdom. Their center vision is 10X and their peripheral vision is normal. They can see a grain of corn on the ground from 60 yards away. With that kind of eyesight you think a bird can't tell the size of something as large as a windmill blade? Of course they can, it's not about the size it's all about the flash.
The birds may not notice something that is far away at the moment, but the blades move much faster than they seem to move, and the birds are toast. There is nothing to hear: "Swish...whack!" So, what is the punishment for birds not noticing? Death? You are good with that. Blame the victim. (By your argument, no birds should ever collide with aircraft, but they do.)
Their power efficiency is poor (dependent on the cube of the wind speed), they do not work when the wind is low (or high), and they occasionally catch fire and self-destruct. They require backup power to compensate for when they are not providing power, so you are really buying two power supply systems instead of one. The subsonic sound from the blades has been associated with health problems and sleep loss in the surrounding community. The economics have been distorted by subsidies. They cannot be economically repaired and upon decommissioning must be parted out and buried. Shall I go on?
Quiet, unobtrusive, highly reliable power is available from nuclear energy, which has been demonized by the anti-witchcraft know-nothings.
And when they fail, crash and burn, then you see the truth of their "greenness"...
Did everyone notice POTUS wore his Q Tie for this Negotiation!?! ๐ฅ
Yes! ๐
Why is it Q tie?
Iโm sorry Iโm still caught up on the POTUS once again outright telling us, people we are taught to TRUST are actually TRYING TO HARM US saying they are โsaving usโโฆ.
My understanding is gold flag in nautical terms stands for the letter Q.
Something about naval signals if i partially remember correctly.
It's a Q tie because yellow/gold is "Q" in the Naval Signal Flag Alphabet:

Absolutely!
SO MUCH WINNING.
I hate despise loathe the climate change hoax and, perhaps especially, the stupid windmills, slayers of countless innocent birds.
Acres upon acres of old blades, discarded solar panels, etc etc create HAVOC on our environment.
May our gracious God forever bless and protect our President DJT, his family, his administration of valiant warriors.
Amen.
Amen to your beautiful prayer Radiant! ๐๐ค

3:17 seconds.
This is a very very nice win. These things are a huge boil,on the ass of America.
Yes! They are hideous, kill birds, whales and cause cancer!
Nuclear and drill baby drill have got to happen !
I like coal mining even a lot more than windmills. They have ruined some of the most buitiful spots in the country.
They are Nick...

You've just named two ecological disasters, pede! Kek
KEK!!!
Nicely worded, kek!
THIS. Is the real story!
Set an alarm on your GPS.....
'Don' Quixote comes to mind! Truth is stranger than fiction!
He's on a long roll....๐ช๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ
What do you call a patch of windmills across the land? OnlyFans!
๐ธ
killing birds is one issue but the biggest thing is where do these things go when their lifespan is expired? in land fills.
Yes...
Just drove across the heartland to my hometown in the Great Plains. The hideous windmills have polluted the landscape with their eerie, slow-spinning behemoth bird-killing forms. They span as far as the eye can see.

Now Spain Gets theirs for not signing a deal. Gamaesa is a huge Spanish Windmill company
Well well we shall see! The farmers who are receiving lifetime subsidies for leasing their rights to the air that power the windmills will be upset. This could get interesting!
There will be other positives for them I'm sure...POTUS thinks of everything...

Wind turbines will never create more energy than it takes to build them. Itโs net negative. A scam as POTUS stated.

So much good information you just gave and all true. Hope the one you responded to gets a clue. We don't need those ugly windmill farms.
