I think you’re kinda missing the point of what that story was actually saying. It’s not about saying people who run from danger are cowards, or that they’re automatically denying Christ. That’s not it. It’s a metaphor. It’s trying to show the difference between people who say they believe and people who actually stand for what they believe when things get real. That’s all.Jesus used that kinda approach all the time. Harsh stories. Uncomfortable truths. Parables that weren’t “nice.” He literally said in Matthew 13 that He spoke in parables so people would have to actually think (not just feel good). And you said you’d leave and laugh if someone called you a hypocrite? Okay (but honestly, that sounds more like pride than anything). Like, if a story makes you uncomfortable, maybe ask why. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves to see whether you're in the faith.” That’s not me judging you (that’s Scripture telling every believer to check themselves).
And as for the “taking God’s name in vain” thing? Come on, man. That’s a stretch. No one used God’s name falsely. That commandment in Exodus 20:7 is about misusing His name for lies or manipulation. This story didn’t do that. If anything, it was calling people out (like Jesus did constantly. Remember when He called the Pharisees whitewashed tombs in Matthew 23:27? That’s not soft language either). So yeah, maybe the story’s uncomfortable. It’s supposed to be. The real question is: if our faith disappears the second things get hard, was it real in the first place? That’s not me saying you’d deny Christ (that’s just me saying it’s worth thinking about). And Jesus Himself said in Matthew 10:33, “If you deny Me before men, I’ll deny you before My Father.”Even Peter ran. He messed up, but he came back. So this isn’t about being perfect. It’s about not being fake. If a story like that makes someone more upset than the idea of people faking their faith, maybe it hit closer to home than they wanna admit. Beside many Christians support gay marriage, right? Isn't that hypocritical? how some Christians ignore or reinterpret certain parts of Scripture to support modern cultural values, while still claiming to follow the Bible as absolute truth...good luck
Not all punishments are eternal nor are they all in hell.
"I am that living bread, which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." --John 6 :51 --1599 Geneva
Good Clip, AND I think we are witnessing the transformation of that poweful chuch in real time.
After they cleanup the movies, do GAW.
My focus for a while has been on the Church. It's been a tough journey cause they aren't easy to speak to always. Keeping faith God will move. Just not gonna lie it can get lonely and sad. So many want to put Jesus second or are still in fear to fully speak his name to the world.
Please keep me in your prayers family. Love you all
Happy to pray for you fren!
I’m standing right there with you! God has given me the greatest burden for the church and has me interceding and warring for them daily. He has me serving (volunteering) on the staff at a sleepy, lukewarm church but alongside a pastor who is now on fire and willing to follow God anywhere. I used to be one of them - asleep, lukewarm, didn’t believe in the gifts of the Spirit today. But God has been giving me prophetic insights for the church and I’m so grateful for a pastor who knows the Holy Spirit and wants to follow and obey His leading. I know that He will wake this church up and turn it around for His glory. It’s hard as we wait for God to move. I’m eager to see us move into a more collaborative mentality as well rather than the competitive/isolationist/divisive way that so many churches operate. This is also where some of the fiercest persecution comes - from those influenced by religion and the religious spirit. What a battle! It’s no different than what Jesus faced in His time on earth. Jesus persevered for the joy set before Him and we do the same! He is leading us into victory!! Locking arms and standing firm right there with you!!
WOW fren I can't thank you enough for this response. Truly it helped lift my soul. Yeah it's been a tough journey but I have faith that God will continue to move mountains. I am also finding that the chaos and turmoil is awakeing something within me that is giving me a boldness to speak up about the Truths Jesus has revealed to me. I am learning to speak truth...take a hit and keep on loving. I find my gifts are appreciated until it's directed at them...then I have to see the convicted heart come out and see how they process that. Some in my church call me the sheepdog or cheerleader yet I just like being what Jesus needs me to be
Thanks again for responding. Maybe we can PM each other and keep in touch and pray and share thoughts. No pressure just wanted you to know if you are willing I would love to keep talking...even if it's just here on this post OR something like texting or calling. Your choice. God bless fren. Love you
I am so sorry for not responding to this sooner!! I kept trying to figure out how to send a private message and then got distracted and never got back to you! If you could help me figure out how to connect with you! I hope you see this message… Praying for you!!!

I dont have Instagram , what is the name of the church.
It’s not the name of any particular church or religion. He was talking about we go to the movies on Saturday night for entertainment and pay to hear Jesus‘s name in vain. But if a preacher did it on Sunday morning, they would say it was blasphemous. He has a great point!!
Oh I see thank you
It's pretty powerful. Here's a YT link.

It’s not a church but it points out how entertainment has become the most powerful church in America cause most of it is sinful.
I might suggest to everyone, including u/HunnyB , that it is the church of Hollywood.
I could easily argue that many individuals have followed the stars for decades & have been focused on the latest trend set by them, or the relationships they are in. It was because of the emotional attachments so many individuals had with actors & actresses, that there was an assumption that everyone would just follow the stars to our own destruction.
I thank God that our our POTUS follows our Savior Jesus Christ's teachings & genuinely loves all of us. I am so greatful they are as wise as these serpents & that they are as gentle as doves with those who run their lives based on emotion instead of logic (is slow release declas that is helping shift the Overton Window back to it's rightful place).
Church like entertainment just points to the problem. Fix the problem then they will take care of themselves.
"Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you." --- Luke 17:21 -1599 Geneva
This is perhaps a good or interesting addendum to what I was talking about with you u/ModernMan1.
I'd extend it to TV, YouTube, Netflix etc. of course. Whatever we allow in our minds via eyes and ears will no doubt have effects on our hearts. Ascension above the base nature of fallen man is either hindered or encouraged by it
Now do Disney...
Parents have become addicted to plopping their kid down in front of the TV, poppin in a Disney movie so the kid is occupied for and hour or two with blatant messages, so the parent can put their face in the matrix to get their dopamine fix with stupid internet points.
And if that's not enough, observe these mothers and fathers pushing their kid around in a stroller - not paying attention to the child at all - with their face in a phone either gabbing or FacePlanting etc.
Almost NEVER paying undivided attention to the child...because they're addicted to the easy shindig.
They just can't put away that Disney tho...They'll even go DEEP into debt to do a Disney vacation with endless overpriced bs...They just can't/won't avoid the Disney machine...
If anything this guy exposes the hypocrisy of "religious" folk....
Thanks mods. 👍
So, so many people I've seen say:
What am I supposed to say to that?
“Sounds like Heaven isn’t for you.”
This clip is NOT logical.
How so?
The guy is trying to compare expectations from a movie crowd vs expectations from a Church crowd ?
I think the point is Christians are going to these movies thinking they can just ignore such blasphemy while be entertained when they should be repulsed by the the blasphemy to the point of not participating and supporting such things. Christians are paying to be entertained by such filth they would never want to see in church. Like he’s saying, gobble it up on Saturday night but reject it on Sunday morning (paraphrasing).
The message is not for secular movie goers at all. It’s to the church. It is a logical message that he’s giving.
Okay fair enough , good explanation.
He is simply exposing the hypocrisy of the biggest hypocrites in the world.
Well said. TY Fren.
Nope , pointing to the source of the problem in both. Where most are afraid to look. And Churches are afraid you will.
"Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you." --- Luke 17: 21
So people are getting naked and cursing God in churches?
Can't say I would be surprised
