I believe the best way forward with cannabis will be to make it so that federally it isn't enforced at all but it is enforced at the state level.
Rescheduling it any other way at the federal level sets a precedent for all states. Kicking it back to the states (like abortion) allows each state to do what they want with it.
Conservative states can keep it illegal and the lefty states can legalize it. Or whatever the individual states decides to do with it
Conservatives should make a thorough examination of the history of Cannabis sativa in the USA. From the very start when we needed it hemp was there. Hemp clothes helped the soldiers at Valley Forge survive the brutal winter. Drafts of the Constitution were written on hemp paper. Our nation's original flag made by Betsy Ross is made of hemp.
Then go on to O'Shaughnessy and the Cannabis medicine movement he sparked in 19th century America. Then the cowardly and stupid banning of Cannabis by Congress in the 30's, right when new processing technology was ready to make hemp "The New Billion Dollar Crop" in 1938 (Popular Mechanics.) Then see how the US government was forced to allow farmers to grow much-needed hemp again for the war effort.
Hemp and weed….two different animals.
Both help cure cancer.
It's the same species. Back in the day there was no limit on THC content in hemp. It was not even known what THC was. No doubt some of that stuff was not bad at all.
It was all to get hemp out of the market, so that oil could take its place.
There is even hempfuel. But keeping THC illegal will make the farmers of hemp potential criminals.
There were “financial” reasons. Think about ivermectin recently; and it had a century of success logged. Get rid of the old banker families, let humanity bloom.
You get it. The petty squabbles and cultural instability is a reasult of these fucks putting their fingers on the scales. Remove them and their ilk and nature will restore balance.
Hemp for Victory. The government even did propaganda for it.
Makes great rope…for when it’s needed in the near future.
Funny you should say that.
u/UltraMagaOK linked to the video here and from it I quote:
"For the sailor no less the hangmann, hemp was indispensable. "
It's an eye-opener.

Some of the most functional people of society toke up after work or when the kids go to bed.
Agreed. I think RFK Jr push for psychedelics for therapeutic use for anxiety and PTSD is so important. Long term use of pharmaceutical psychotropic drugs destroy the mind.
Agreed. Let people do what they want
Habitual stoners are obnoxious and difficult to deal with though.....but chronic alcoholics are even worse. Ironically, functioning coke heads are probably more productive than the average person (depending on the line of work they are in). The real difference though is that occasional weed use is actually healthy for you in the long run. Most of the other recreational drugs: not at all.
I'm the Steve Miller midnight toker. I am head of finance at a large company and when not working am spending quality time with my two daughters. I cook dinner for the family every night and do a lot of the typical housework reserved for women as well as my make duties. When not doing that, I work out. I don't drink or do other drugs but do like to wind down in the evening with a vape of thc. I understand true stoners are typically dead beats and give a bad perception for those who partake, but I contribute to society and am very attentive to my family. Not everyone who uses weed is worthless
I know many people with similar stories. By habitual stoners I mean people who are totally baked from dawn till dusk.....Weed is actually a psychedelic drug and will heal and break brain washing if used correctly. I first tried it when I was a young teenager and didn't like it that much but kept an open mind to it through the years. I was always willing to try what ever "killer strain" my friends were into if they could talk me into it. It wasn't until I actually ate an edible one time made with Rick Simpson oil that I really felt the healing effects though. I think weed, just like anything has a time and a place and that is going to be different for everyone. Unfortunately weed gets jammed together with most of the bad drugs most of the time, especially in conservative communities. Kind of a throw the baby out with the bathwater situation. Coke, meth, heroin, and alcohol are neurotoxic to some level even at low doses. Some are much worse than others. Weed is less neurotoxic than caffeine and has major healing benefits. Just keep that in mind.
Other than the proven medicinal benefits and recreational use, there are many other industrial uses of the hemp plant.
Some examples are making clothing from hemp, hemp paper, hemp rope, hemp wood, removing heavy metals and chemicals from contaminated soil, hemp oil, protein from hemp seeds and even long lasting hemp batteries to name a few.
It is rumored that years ago hemp was seen as competition to the wood and paper industry as well as competion to the beer and alcohol industry. The corporations saw hemp / cannabis as a threat and competition to their businesses so they bribed our politicians and law makers with money to pass new laws making the hemp / cannabis plant illegal to possess and own. Propaganda campaigns began with the making of the movie " Reefer Madness " a 1936 film meant to instill and use fear as a motivator for not using it and to justify its illegality.
Prisons, jails, and lawyers created a booming industry of buisness that created huge profits out of its illegality, which in turn have hurt millions. Those who now have a stain on their record because of hemp are now not able to get good quality paying jobs in any of the big major industries.
Genesis 1:29 " And God Said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. "
To kick it back to the states which is the goal for almost all legislation, the Feds have to remove the ban laws and then allow thr states to enact their legislation. The Feds making it illegal is hamstringing the states currently from a strictly legal perspective. Obviously states who have made it legal are at odds with the Federal law, like immigration and sanctuary cities. The only difference being immigration law is strictly Federal on terms of responsibility.
Disagree. Legalize it and monitor it being too potent. Over 21 or with a license to use it.
Literally the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution says to do exactly this
I think that was the original idea in our Constitution. If enough issues are forced back to the State it will be perfect. Easy to choose where you want to live. All the insane will move to Californina like maggots to a corpse. I say go for it.
Legalized weed accelerated the shitholing of calirado well beyond what was already happening. Denver and Boulder are third world shanty towns, crime is rampant, assaults and murders are up. DUI is killing people beyond alcohol caused crashes.
Even the smell of it is pushing people from neighborhoods and keeping people from spending time in town.
The promise of tax dollars from sales going to education was a ruse. Still hasn’t done anything to improve education as not a fraction of $$ promised was made. Black market is still rampant.
States should be wary and use this failure as an example.
Totally agree. This always ends badly. I think I am alright with moving it down from a schedule 1. But it needs to be removed from the smoking market. Prescription gummies with preset levels of THC, I would be good with. I know that there are some advocates here, but look at the weed states. It always goes badly and innocent people die. All you have to do is look back in history before drugs were made illegal to see why they made them illegal. Why is China so harsh on drugs? Besides all the bad effects, it hurts the country’s ability to compete. Economically and militarily. That is why they are pushing fentanyl and other drugs into the US streets.
Yeah because letting the Big Pharma industry have exclusive legal control over anything is a great idea. Plus we TOTALLY should emulate China.
Bro what?
Not enough money in gummies for big pharma. Yes, I know it may sound a little harsh, but it is for the best.
But of course!
The DEA needs to take it off the schedule of drugs - until this happens, universities that recieve $1 from gov CANNOT study it!!!
This right here. Marijuana is currently classified as a Schedule I controlled substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), which means it is considered to have no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse, placing it in the same category as heroin and LSD. <- it needs to be not in this category. If dropped to a 3, This reclassification, if finalized, would not make marijuana legal on the federal level but would ease federal restrictions, facilitate medical research, and potentially allow businesses to deduct expenses currently disallowed under federal tax law, reducing their effective tax burden.
Cannabis in all forms heals... us and the earth.
It never should been outlawed. Period. They literally gave up trying to find a lethal dosage of THC delta 9... water is quite literally more lethal to humans than any compound found in the entire plant. GET a clue... it was made illegal by folks who had interests in the things Cannabis was better at providing.
"The Emperor Wears No Clothes" Jack E Herer https://www.jackherer.com/emperor-3/
Took me a few hours to go from happy stoner to angry 6th gen American.
Estimates for a potentially lethal dose in humans vary widely. One source suggests that a lethal dose could range from 4 to 15 grams of THC , while another estimates the LD50 at approximately 30 mg/kg, meaning about 2 grams of pure THC could be lethal for a 150-pound person. However, other analyses suggest that the LD50 ratio in humans may be as high as 1,000 to 1,000, implying that a person would need to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within minutes to reach a lethal dose—physically impossible due to the required volume and rate of consumption. In practical terms, marijuana’s toxicity is so low that it is considered incapable of inducing a lethal response through drug-related toxicity alone.
I remember back in the late 80s/early 90s hearing something about ODing on pot you'd need to smoke 1500 pounds in 15 minutes.
Hadn't thought about that probably since I'd heard, your post brought it to mind.
I do recall it was in a drug class I'd earned attendance to lol
Edit:Upon reading the OP reply below, I recollected what I'd heard was you'd have to ingest 1500 pounds in 15 minutes.
That's just plain old smoke inhalation.
As I read this I recollected it was ingest, not smoke. Although smoking would be ingesting, no way you could smoke or eat that in that time.
I wonder what's the least weight 1500 pounds could be condensed down in to...
You can also be killed by 50 pounds of cannabis... ...dropped upon your head from a great height. :D
You mean kind of like literally getting "stoned"?
😂
Do as thy will, but I find cannabis opens me up to attacks from the enemy. Life is so much better when I don’t smoke and keep my eyes on the holy trinity. I know I know it’s anecdotal. Maybe tax it and use the revenue to fund drug raids on the meth and fentanyl dealers?
“Do as thy will” is a satanic/luciferian mantra so maybe get yourself straight on the teachings of Christ before you blame a plant for letting the enemy in.
I must’ve missed the teaching where he said I can’t say “do as thy will”, how about “do what you want”? Happy cheech?
He's just being informative.
Satanic/Luciferian teaching is to "do what thou wilt" (Do what you want, do as you will, etc.)
Do God's will. ("And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.") Sounds like Cannabis was meant to be consumed by us.
Cannabis: The NEW cannabis is "SOMA" as predicted in Huxley's BRAVE NEW WORLD.
Cannabis sativa var. indica which is the bushy broad-leaf type more popular among indoor growers and short season outdoor growers has been grown for a very long time in locales with ancient hash-making traditions. It does tend to have a more sedative effect profile than the imported sativas of yore but it is nothing new. It's just new combinations of genetics from around the world. However I think Cannabis in general tends to wake people up to the reality around them.
Medical marijuana is legal in the very red state of Oklahoma.
For thinking people who espouse small government it's a no-brainer.
I recently had the thought that if a person living in a legal state gets busted by the Fed's for possession, a good defense would be the State was guilty of "Aiding and Abetting" . They allowed the person to break a Federal law. LoL
Sativa is for when you need to be energised, Indica is the theraputic variety, the couchlock one that makes the best CBD.
Mix cannabis shiv with lime to make hempcrete, wonderful building material, after 30 years it will set as hard as stone and last as long as stone, for thousands of years.
Grow your own and each morning juice some tops as big as a tennis ball with your juice of choice and it will organise your entire system into a harmonious one.
Cannabis can be made into a lattice as good as graphene, this will make wonderful batteries.
Otto Diesel, him of the cycle and fuel first made his engine to run on hemp oil or just about any other veggie oil, and the first Model T Fords had hemp panels that could be pushed back into shape quite easily, and were made to be powered by hemp.
It needs to be legalized federally. We already have this split system creating alternate banking mechanisms because they can’t bank with the big banks.
That is a good point. But what about the states that are more conservative? Can't they live under the laws they want?
Heres a good video that was just posted today by Colion Noir
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE2p2pabevw
Good video, and I agree with him on this.
I would almost move to a blue state. I have MS, and cannabis is miraculous.
I think you vastly underestimate how many users on this site use cannabis.
I wouldn’t classify cannabis users as drug addicts either.
Having an edible once a week doesn’t make me a drug addict lol.
Username checks out if the signs are of ignorance.
Why stop there?
How about you bring back prohibition against alcohol while you're at it and throw all those losers in a mental ward?
Be consistent or shut the fuck up.
Right!....Keep in mind that its almost impossible to overdose on weed. Alcohol the other hands kills too many people to count ever year.
Dude that’s horrible
I’m gonna say the colored people. Dude that’s horrible
No I won’t. So young blacks and some Hispanics speak on behalf of them all. Got it retard
Were they smoking that boogeyman Cannabis too?
