I like everything in the post except plant based diet. So along with her suggestions I will continue eating the essential animal proteins and fats for the easily absorbed nutrients they offer.
yup. That's where I'm at too. Bought both her books. (On Ebay though - a lot less expensive than the $50 on her website.)
The meat we eat is generally plant based, one step removed. Beef is concentrated grass, think of it like that.
I have switched to a mostly a plant based diet but do eat meat (mostly chicken and fish and occasionally some bee/fpork) I also stopped eating dairy bc most dairy now produced (unless it is raw) is compromised. (Many cows get mastitis in the industry and pasteurization alone cannot remove the pathogens)
I am switching to this diet mostly to eat more alkiline meals. Meat and diary are acidic. I have osteoporosis. So I am looking to do an 80% alkiline diet to 20% acidic.
I was on this diet for only a few weeks and already lowered my cholesterol to normal levels enough to tell my physician I am going off the 40 mg. of Atorvastin she has me on for now. My liver values have been compromised I believe by the statins in spite of taking NAC with milk weed thistle
Yes, I know this but before on my old diet my LDL were OFF the chart.
The chart was dreamt up by a statin salesman. High LDL people actually live longer.
Exactly.
My doctor always asked, "Do you think your body can make blood out of that shit?"
A relevant question everyone needs to ask themselves before they put something in their mouth...
Jury duty breakfast is where it's at: overcooked hard boiled eggs (yolks MUST have green iron coating on them to be worthy), baked beans with overcooked tomato based sauce, extra sugar and maple syrup and raw onions. Your choice of breakfast meat(s). Blood sausage preferred. Wash it all down with a large glass of half&half. Don't drink soy "milk" as it could make you gazzy. /S

Soy is estrogenic and cancer in liquid form. Avoid.

She's right about a high carb diet, but her typical breakfast is high in carbs! Black beans and sourdough bread in particular, but cherries and peaches aren't low either. At least there's no added sugar, but it's not close to low carb.
So maybe fruits aren't as bad as people say they are?
IMO a fresh piece of fruit is preferable to a bowl of Froot Loops!
Really can't compare the two. One is food, not quite sure what the other is, beyond mildly toxic.
The first thing that goes in my mouth in the morning is a piece of fresh fruit, a peach, melon, or kiwi, blueberries by the cupful. Raw fruits contain enzymes your gut needs to digest nutrients. You can, of course, take an enzyme, but I prefer my berries. IF you eat protein, animal protein, the enzymes are needed to break down all the amino acids that are beneficial. It doesnt have to be a lot. Basically my focus at 75 is farming a good microbiome,
Not sure if this is factual or not, but I read somewhere that certain fruits have been engineered over time to become more sugary/sweet than they used to be centuries ago, Like Bananas for example. So maybe fruits were healthier in the past and now are just sugar bombs.
Probably some truth to that. One thing I read about fruits is that the sugar is in the form of complex carbs, which take longer to digest and don't produce the same level of insulin response as opposed to the simple carbs in refined sugars. Also fruit as includes fiber, so some benefits to that as well.
Actually, Sue Becker of Bread Beckers turned 70 years old this year, eats fresh ground whole grain breads daily along with meats and veggies, and looks a LOT better than Barbara does (Barbara is also a 7th Day Adventist and vegetarian). I'm all for healthier eating, but vegetarian is not the way to go - eating MEAT is important and Biblically highlighted as a most valuable food. And carbs are not bad - processed carbs are bad, along with seed oils and fake foods. "Low Carb Plant Based" is hogwash.
O’Neill is well worth a follow if you’re on X.
I am, I do and I agree.🤗
Whenever I need a home remedy I start with Barbara and EarthClinic.com. Good stuff!!
Thank you for the link to this amazing resource!
Yw!
Barbara O’Neill is amazing.
We have followed her for years. She has natural remedies for many ailments such as applying a leaf of cabbage to relieve joint pain, onion for colds and muscle pain, etc.
We went to see her in person in NC last year. A great crowd showed up to listen to her presentation.
My sister bought me her book last year. All about full plant based. Just a other psychopath trying to eliminate testosterone.
Anyone that believes a human being can cure any disease is setting themselves up for failure. Only Jesus Christ can heal, not any man, woman or any other creature.
Psalm 103:2-4 King James Version 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

He did delegate healing ability to his disciples (Luke 9:1)
