Previous claims by FOX RENO 11 appear to have misidentified the Charlie Kirk shooter as Michael Mallinson, a Toronto resident as of 2023.
The most recent attribution by users on X now points to George Hodgson Zinn.
Interestingly, more than a decade earlier in April 2013, George Hodgson Zinn, a 59-year-old man from Utah at the time, was arrested after sending an email offering to help place bombs near the finish line of the Salt Lake City Marathon.
He was charged with making a terroristic threat. Zinn had a history of minor offenses, including trespassing, and was described locally as a political gadfly. The incident led to heightened security during the marathon but did not result in any actual explosives being found.
Further biographical information and motive are forthcoming.
