Article says they’ll be using olive oil. I don’t like the less fat frying though. Low fat items are total scam, your body needs fats. Fats don’t make you fat or clog your arteries.
Yes your body needs fats (though not a lot, just at least 0.3g per lb of body weight) but it's the combination of fats and carbs that makes such foods so addictive. Think about how hard it is to not eat an entire bag of chips vs how often you want a second apple or banana after eating one by itself.
Processed sugar foods are the most addictive. They say it’s more addictive than cocaine. When you get enough animal fats early in the morning (bullet coffee) you’re literally satiated most of the day, unlike a high carb breakfast which makes you hungry by lunchtime. I eat once a day usually with this type of diet, usually 2-3 pm or if I can wait 6-7 pm after I work out.
The FDA ruled iirc that many of these ingredients need to be out by 2028 or so, many brands are doing it early so it doesn't look like they are doing it because they are being forced to.
It's a "have to do" kinda thing and early birds get the worm where supply contracts are concerned, they do get some free PR from it but I wouldn't view it as anything other than business and compliance. It also shields them from potential civil suits if someone tries to get them for anything "Look, we changed out the ingredients shortly after the government told us to." I wouldn't even view it as companies waiting, global supply chains are complex and it may take time to secure new partners to get ingredients, it's why they have so much time, the government recognizes how challenging the logistics can be.
I asked my Lay's rep to tell his bosses my idea. Make a potato chip with tons of salt embedded in it. I hate chips with just a smidge of salt taste. I WANT COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF SALT ON MY CHIPS. Label it as such so if the nanny state want a salt free option they can have that, too.
Blood pressure is a function of the balance between sodium and sugar intake, I've seen so much of the evidence in myself over the years that supports the theory (which is hard to find even on the more free search engines.) The DASH diet has you slash salt but it also has you slash sugar while ignoring how much the drop in sugar lowers your BP. The problem that I found on low-carb diets is that eventually my BP would rebound back up because having sugar and salt so reduced messes with hormones which counteract what caused the BP drop. That is another reason why when on low-carb diets you need so much extra sodium.
However when you increase your sugar intake (preferably from whole fruits) your BP will creep back up if you don't reduce the salt intake. So you can have normal BP on a low-carb/high-salt diet or on a high-carb/low-salt diet but both being high or both being low is what screws you up.
I used to work for pepsi. Microplastics was a joke. The filler/capper machine would have plastic ant hill mounds of shaved plastic at the capper area that they let run for a year like that before "fixing the issue" issue was never resolved and the area was just made slightly less plastic build up. But if you hold the bottle up to the light you will see the bits and pieces.
Now get rid of the seed oils.

Baby steps anon.
That would mean killing a huge amount of cows. Oh, the horror of needless cow killing just so we can eat healthy.

True it's interesting which ones are already getting on it vs those just running out the clock hoping the next admin reverses it.

Can't eat any of their products until they stop using soybean oil.
What…. You’re not a gay frog?

Salt isn't quite the enemy they want you to think it is.

OK, good. But how do they taste?

Let’s be honest they’re being forced
Yup. Do it willingly and make it a great marketing strategy. Or be forced when RFK Jr stands at the podium and force your company to do it. Looks bad.
Beef tallow chips???
Lays keto chips loli
I just want an available and healthy enough version of the Mieng Kam Krob Ros flavor.. Thai Street Food basically. So addicting, so unhealthy atm 🥲
