I’ve been in your shoes. No job, recently separated, living with my parents w/3 kids sleeping on the floor. I prayed through my tears every night. The praying really helped me mentally. I just believed totally that God would do what was best for us. Got a job with a lady who was a party planner for Hollywood hotshots. Paid just enough, close enough to walk to and I met so many actors, directors, singers and attended almost all the A list events in Hollywood. It was great fun and networking got me an even better job. May God be by your side and guide you to what you need. He knows your heart and I will pray he helps you as he did me..

Most states run food pantries. Apply for it. Also, advise your creditors that you are affected by the gov shutdown. Creditors in the DC area have historically made arrangements for late payments. And may God and His angels be with you in your interview today.

The fact that you posted this means you are GENUINE in believing Jesus can help you. YES he can. Even your prayer will be heard and Jesus is not about votes for prayers BUT most often those praying for others are blessed, because it reminds us we are all part of one body of Christ.

No such thing as a little prayer. We pray continuously. I am in agreement with you though.

I was laid off a few months back and am need in the Lord to do something with my work and finances as well. I am trusting Him for today but I see a horizon thay scares me.

I have provision for today but tomorrow is unclear.

I need Jesus to show up with clarity and directness. I need the work and ability to provide for my family. It's a tough market out there and I am a relatively new transplant to indianapolis. It's indeed or nothing for a job search with such a small social support network around me due to the move.

I am praying the Holy Spirit is directing you, us, all in need of a job today to Him and His care for us.

I was in a similar position. But eventually I realized that I didn't "need a job". What I needed was a way to accumulate enough money to survive.

I listed all of our outgoings and cancelled those that didn't feed or clothe us: TV subscriptions, magazine subscriptions, etc.

That left the essential outgoings, which amounted to about $700 a week. (This was a long time ago.) So I had to get $100 a day. It didn't sound impossible. I considered offering a gardening service, a tree-cutting service, a drain/gutter clearing service and many other ideas. Eventually I settled for something that my existing skill set supported. Setup cost for tools etc. was $500.

In no time at all I was making $1000 a week profit and increasing. I was working for myself. I was paying my taxes. I even was able to take time off pretty much whenever I wanted.

I was able to employ builders to increase the size of our house by 40%. And now that house is rented out and we live in another house on a Greek island.

This is NOT a sales pitch! I'm just telling you that anyone can do this. Simply visualize what you want. Picture the end result in your mind. Ask God for assistance to achieve it. Believe that it will happen. Nothing can stop it.

(I'm British but I've used dollars instead of GB pounds for simplicity.)
