I've been telling people this and I've been getting downvoted on all platforms by both sides. The Left wants to blame Trump and the Right keeps saying it's about paying for illegals' healthcare.
Both are wrong but this woman is right.
Not only that, but our senators have been promised a bonus of $3 Million each if the insurance companies get their way.
This Senate vote is just about keeping the lights on. It's not about negotiating new spending. But the Obamacare pay-outs to insurance companies were approved for 15 years in 2010. It's now 2025 so the handouts to the insurance companies have come to an end unless Congress approves it by the end of the year.
Now is not the time for this sort of thing but the Democrats know that if they don't get it to pass now then they only have two months to renegotiate and there's really no reason for Republicans to negotiate this bullshit if this current bill passes.
It's do or die for the Democrats because if they don't get the pork in the bill not only will they lose their $3 Million payout but they will lose their campaign contributions in any and all upcoming elections.
God bless all Republicans and any Democrat who crosses the line to vote in favor of the American public. They'll be sacrificing everything to do so.
This is so complex, that it took me a second to understand it, but if senators have been offered a 3M bonus just for keeping the obummer-scam going (beyond its legitimate use-by date), then we need to know. They may even had down-payments to delay debating the topic (i.e. the shut-down). Might explain the sudden urge to stay at a luxury resort in wine country, or something. Extra cash bonus and no need to go to work, type thing.
The excessive, and very-much-milked tax is on the backs of working Americans, I might add, the corrupt scum deserve to lose everything. Just because - it is the epitome of corruption: Taking a 3M payout for a vote against we the people, who are auto-milked every-time they get a pay-packet; but also in the annual tax return - when MOAR money is given by the government, to keep the insurance pyramid scam 'going' with benefits. Oh, and not to forget: those bribes, those are from handy-for-the-purpose slush funds, also originally taxpayer-funded. Kind of sick, it you start thinking about it.

If there is any proof of this pay-out scheme for senators, we'd be interested to see it: so - How does one promise to pay 3M? Via a contract, I imagine, because of the sum involved: or maybe have any transactions already been banked - that is, anyone tracking offshore accounts of these suddenly exercising-their-democratic-right to 'get-Trump' and taking the family for a sudden happy early holiday 'senators'? Might be an interesting data collection time, given there is a list.
In any case, insurance companies should not be writing policy. This is fundamental. So: Anyone in the pockets of insurance companies should recuse themselves involuntarily from the vote, until further notice, and then answer to their constituents. LOL. We can sEEEE you.

Thats the cause. But it isnt the effect. Insuranceis controlled by the deep state who can print money all day long. Tjey could care less about money at that level. Thisnis about control, one of the last vestiges of control they have and its about to get defeated. One of the five pillars of a counter insurgency is healthcare. We took the goverment, the media, education and security, now trump is taking back healthcare amd the accompanying systems that disrupt it. Been checking the boxes as trump takes back control of each element.
Extraordinary claims, extraordinary proof:
She alleges that Republicans are planning to defund the ACA by stopping government payments to subsidize ACA marketplace plans. Currently, if you buy your health insurance with Obamacare, the government pays a portion of your monthly premiums up to 90% on a means-tested basis. Eligibility was capped at an annual household income of 400% of the federal poverty level to get some sort of cost reduction.
In 2021, Biden and his goons made this benefit more generous and extended the eligibility to more people with enhanced subsidies for the ACA in the Inflation Reduction Act. Enrollment doubled from 11M previous to 24M with the enhanced tax credit. This has a 4-year time line. It is set to expire this year and of course Republicans aren't going to renew it. Schumer wants it renewed. I suspect a lot of those recipients were illegals or people in line claiming asylum, but that's me editorializing.
Now, if it expires, the 24 million people on Obamacare plans are looking at ~$1000+ increases in their annual (not monthly, but full year) out-of-pocket contribution to their premiums depending on their income. Moreover, healthcare costs more, and insurers are looking at jacking up their overall annual premiums ~18% in 2026, so these customers are looking at a double whammy: nearly 20% higher price and they lose a huge chunk of their government subsidies on top of that. The ACA, as we all knew, is unaffordable.
Insurers, of course, are happy to have 24 million more covered lives on their books than they would otherwise have. If those price changes go through, many of them are going to have to drop coverage and go without health insurance. For insurers, this represents ~$90 billion/yr. They're about to lose at least half of it. $45 billion is a strong incentive to shut down the government. And one of Schumer's biggest talking points has been that Trump's taking away your healthcare.

Illegals are the main reason too because the demoncrats are subsidizing this crap just to get richer with our taxpayerâs money, they are stealing from us, btw I went to a small elementary school here in Florida for a bookkeeping interview of course I didnât get it, it was for another person, they didnât even call me to say that it was given to someone else, anyhow the principal told me that 67% of the people in the school live from welfare, can you imagine 67% it is a lot for a small school, I am very worried if it was a small school in a town I can imagine the rest of the schools. We have too many illegals in this country specially in Florida. Traitors everywhere giving our money away and putting us in more debt.

Still doesnt tell the story. Why are insurance companies doing this? Because those insurance companies will be broke when we change money systems. Its a dumb plan from insurance if its true. Insurance is deep state and theyre gonna lose bigly. Not that big a revelation. You cant cap the premiums because the insuramce companies will just shift their mission until it breaks. Tje main goal of obamacare was universal health remember. Force everyone who works to pay for those who dont. Insurance doesnt need more money, the left needs us more broken. When I was young, I served on the ANSI ASC X12 committee for Electronic Data Interchange. The Finance committee had an Insurance subcommittee originally to do the work of standards setting for the Insurance transaction types (like healthcare eligibility and claims, etc.) The Insurance subcommittee grew so large that it was spun off into its own standing committee. It became the largest standing committee of ASC X12.
Oh what young people naively work on. Sometimes I wish for a greater ability for young ones to envision more fully the implications of their work.
ps. I did not serve on the Finance or Insurance committees, but I did serve on another standing committee in multiple roles.
This post brought those memories and biases back into my mind.

I think it's about the Democrats trying to cover their asses before the midterm elections next year. They know they ended the subsidies in that inflation act several years ago and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Most of the public doesn't know about this yet but will find out anytime now that they are losing their subsidies to help pay for their healthcare insurance premiums.

Okay, one problem I have with her argument is that the carriers cannot just set prices willy nilly - all plans are regulated and rates are approved by the individual state departments of insurance. I am not arguing they are angels, but insurance companies are a convenient whipping for politicians. They have to play within the paradigm set by government.
Obamacare set in place guarantees and guarantees cost money. That was the argument from the get go. I saw a trade piece the other day where out of network costs have doubled since it was put in place. The real problem is that it is not really insurance by definition. Insurance is risk management for catastrophic situations - it should be there because you had a massive car accident and needed to be helicoptered. Not because you have the sniffles - that should be paid out of pocket. We use it for everything in part because of the lack of price transparency which is wildly inflated as a result.
Also, the amount of private equity money in healthcare is astonishing. PE is about EBITDA. Frankly, should never be allowed in healthcare became it isn't about patients and administration makes decisions not based on the best interests of the patient.
One thing she may be onto - quarterly earnings are coming out now and they are sucking wind and have been all year. Claims are up. (Hmmm, wonder why???l
