And Property Taxes... We are cattle ranchers and sell beef direct to consumers. Our land has been in the family since 1854. And yet, if we stopped paying property tax, we could lose our land. Do we really own anything?
True that. Property tax is just paying the government rent money. Inheritance tax and capitol gains tax on property needs to go away too. Actually all taxes suck kek. Didn't we whoop the king's ass over this once already?

The era of political hogs gorging on tax money slop has to end. How about the "luxury tax" in the state of California where you have to pay an extra state tax, for paying to stay in some else's property?

Very happy about this happening some day. My hope is that my property tax and state income tax dont increase to keep me poor like Medicare increases when you get a bump in your Social Security.

No income tax is great. Will states follow suit? Or will Dem controlled states see it as a chance to raise state income taxes in equal measure and boast to their citizens that their total taxes will remain the same as last year? CA will do it for sure unless Trump stipulates that any state raising taxes because people have more money in their pockets because of his efforts, will lose all Federal funding.
Dems are like hungry dogs looking for every chance to grab more of the public's money. If they think people will have a windfall from the tariffs, they will jump at that money any way they can. The only way Trump can guarantee that taxpayers actually see the fruit of his efforts will be to cut the flow of fed funds to any state that tries to steal that money away from taxpayers.
Even Dem controlled cities are horrible - in red states! Austin City Council Members get a budget of $850,000 per council member per year. I am not in Austin, but that was the conservative talk show conversation today. They frivolously spend it on lavish things like trips and meals and clubs. I hope foolish spending goes away.
Between cutting the green new scam, cutting off all the liberal money laundering, cutting the interest on the debt in half, cutting money going to illegals, cutting money going to welfare programs (because more people are employed), and tariffs; we should be running a surplus. Especially when you factor in growth that closes in on double digits. It should be easy to eliminate income taxes below $150K. It gets a little harder as you go above that; especially if you want to play down debt quickly.

I stopped paying mine about a year ago. Can't fund our enemies anymore after everything I've seen.
What happens when you stop paying? Are there consequences? So many things have no consequences. So why should anyone pay? Right?
I would imagine the IRS will send letters at some point. Maybe escalate to other things. I really don't care. It is against my morals to be stolen from to fund my own demise in a country founded on a tax revolution. I store my wealth in BTC where it can't be stolen from like a bank account. I once tried not paying my taxes because I was literally $0 in the bank broke and could not afford to pay my federal or state taxes (THANKS OBAMA!). I got to the end of the Turbotax work up, cried my eyes out, and just didn't finish it and hoped for the best.
They (both IRS and state) started with threatening letters telling me how much I owed (why even file if they already know). Then they started garnishing wages straight out of my bank account. They actually did this to little old me, and I was just a very broke 20 something chump working two jobs and not getting by (and also a registered Republican; maybe that was just a coincidence). I finally was able to set up a payment plan with the IRS and the tax department of the state I was living in at the time. The state not only overcharged me, but when they sent me a visa card with my credit back, they took out a f*cking commission fee of $40 for the inconvenience I caused them in having to send me the money they overcharged me.
Up to that point, I was polite as possible given that I was dealing with the tax mafia, but when I saw that they did that, I let that lady at the state tax office have every ounce of my rage and my only regret was that I did it over the phone and not in person.
Next year, when that same state owed me a $4 tax refund, I forced them to cut me a check for it. The check cost more for them to cut and mail out than the refund I got. I enjoyed every little bit of that petty action.
That is a horrible experience! I'm glad you made them cut you a check. The whole situation is flawed. People who have lavish assets and high cash flow, can legally get their children on CHIPS. We should all show zero income and draw everything we can. But then who pays for that? I'm just frustrated.
