I think what's on display here, more specifically the cause of it, goes to a much deeper, fundamental artifact of the nature of different humans.
A fundamentally different (lower) level of human consciousness is on display here, and for that reason I think it is the inevitable outcome of these places and people.
What went deeper here is why you don't feed the wild animals. This is exactly what happens. They become over hyper dependent. Never developing past a certain point. I am sorry but Darwin was stopped here and this is the result. You can see it in every country. The fact we need warnings on not drinking bleach even in the "1st world" is enough proof of it I need to see.

It's just sad and shocking to see the place as it was and then what a sh*t hole it has become. You can't expect people that have lived for centuries a certain way and then expect them to suddenly change and know how to govern themselves. Corrupt from top to bottom. Everyone for themselves.
I still believe much of the corruption at the bottom is a direct result from the corruption at the top. If the corrupt leaders were removed, then the people who fear justice would start doing the right thing and eventually it would reach the bottom.
But the people at the bottom are also lawless - they always have been. The leaders come from that same group. If they were rid of one set of corrupt leaders, the next ones would be just as corrupt because it's the same well that is being drawn from. Corrupt leaders in Africa is nothing new.
Having spent a lot of time in another Third World country in Central America a few years ago, it seems like some people, some cultures, just seem to favor squalor as a way of life. I don't know if it has to do with collective IQ, or because it's on the hot equator, or genetic inbreeding... I just don't understand why folks living along the equator tend toward squalor.
There is a theory that white people and East Asians have higher IQ’s because of weather. When winter is coming you can’t afford to be lazy. You have to prepare shelter, food etc. and the people who survived harsh winters and weather survived and pro created.
Around the equator it’s hot all the time. Surviving is much easier.
There is a reason “island time” exists in Hawaii. When it’s nice weather 90% of the time you don’t have the sense of urgency to build something fast like you do in a place like Montana.
