Can confirm. Regular smokers don't dream, or if they do they don't often remember them. When I was a regular (med-heavy) user I only remembered nightmares. Truth/digging induced nightmares, not weed induced.
I have quit for extended periods (6-18 months) on several occasions. It's very light use now, very. $20/month. Still, when I want to lucid dream I need to have ZERO weed for 3-4 weeks.
I think I'll go to zero again. After tonight, that ship has sailed.
Maybe that dude needs to try another strain or something. I have heard that about cannabis interfering with REM sleep but I don't know if that is across the board with everyone all the time. It is supposed to increase deep sleep also so there might be more to it that is not currently understood.
Sometimes to varying degrees just like they always were. I have had OOBE's while asleep as well. Once I went miles away and found out very specific personally stunning news that turned out to be a true event that did happen that night.
Incidentally I had to not smoke for some months and smoked other herbs including skullcap. I had some extreme nightmares at that time.
Yep. I think there is definitely a link with sleep/dreams. I have had OOBE's too, I use the WILD technique but it only works in a weed-free brain, for me anyway. I heard lotus flower helps but I haven't tried it myself.
...found out very specific personally stunning news that turned out to be a true event...
It's crazy stuff. I am always shocked at how real everything is and how much control I have. I spend a lot of time flying around, I'm getting very good at it. I read that one guy can put his consciousness in animals and kind of 'possess' them. He said walking on all fours takes some practice. Next time I get out imma possess a squirrel, the guy said they were his favorite.
Kek. I still dream if I have a small amount, I was reefering to heavy smokers. Lucid dreaming is impossible if I have any weed in my system at all, for me anyway.
208-RZ, I've been taking THC(10mg) gummies to help me sleep. I've noticed my sleep has improved remarkably. But I've been getting a severe case of the munchies and have put on some weight. What can I do to stop having the cravings to eat?
Dreams are induced by sub-conscious rendering of repressed and/or recently experienced fears and desires. Drugs or alcohol (another drug) would only repress or accentuate.
It depends on the person, and also on the strain and severity of that strain, and whether the strain being used is GMO or some other modified strain.
I don't smoke any more, but there is a definite difference between indica and sativa strains, and the severity of the sub-strains, therein. Some will give you more focus and allow you to tap in to your more creative side, which allows you to get things done. Others, like with the indica strains, will put you literally in the couch for hours on end.
However, with both strains, the greater the percentage of THC, the more likely one is experience bouts of anxiety, confusion, depression, etc.
I found that the modified strains that removed some, if not all of the CBDs and increased the THC were the worst types for me.
I also found that smoking sativa strains in the morning worked best for me, as long as I wasn't at work. If I was at work, my anxiety and confusion went through the roof. Same with the indica strains. I found that it also lessened my ability to constructively deal with my emotions properly. This also seems to be the case with just about everyone else I observed, everywhere I worked. So I initially stayed away from partaking before or during the work day.
This led to me eventually quitting altogether, especially after the rise of medical marijuana dispensaries and the multitude of modified strains. It became near impossible for me to find more "old school type" strains. Eventually, because of this, I had to quit because I noticed that it no longer mattered which strain I smoked, or the percentage level of THC-CBD, it all started increasing my anxiety, depression, confusion, ability to properly regulate emotions, etc.
It also did the same with my children who smoked, too. We all ended up quitting.
Since then, I've been able to step back and view what the modified strains have been doing to people who regularly partake, and what I see isn't overly impressive. It's concerning.
It seems to me that, unless you're able to find someone who grows it themselves using legacy seeds from the pre-GMO era, that the designer pot today is being purposely designed to mentally, emotionally, and developmentally hold back the majority of smokers.
I guess this was a long winded way of saying, YES, today's marijuana is designed to nerf everyone who smokes it.
As a toker off and on, heavily from 1970 until mid-90's then occasionally since then, I have been tossing around writing a post with weed verses booze as a theme, Maybe Will....
I found lately buying weed from the “legal” government backed weed store, I can smoke n smoke but rarely get buzzed. Maybe I’ve built up a tolerance or maybe their shit sucks. Remember everything they say is bad is really good. Like mentioned, some of us have been awake so long, numbing the mind makes it easier to walk amongst those liberals with no brain at all.
That is awesome!! From what I remember after quitting it took a week or two for the urges to settle down and then another couple until I started really getting that crisp mental refeshed state, motivation and clarity went way up, etc.
I forgot to mention a funny thing happened after I posted this, had a dream that night about this post getting only one updoot and like -140 downdoots 😂 when I woke up I checked it like did that really happen?! Oh wait it was a dream, nvm kek
I may not be a good test subject.. My last weed fast lasted 6 months and I have been having very little since I started again, but it has been slowly increasing for a month or so. No real cravings, just my muscle memory needs reprogramming.
One of the most lucid dreams I ever had happened before I gave up weed for a while about 3 years ago. This was tbf after almost 20 years of using it.
Prior to this, the only dreams I tended to have (or remember vividly) were nightmares. Since quitting before my dad passed, I've had a few dreams but very, very few. Since he died I had a Lot of weed to help me cope (and to a degree feel a little closer to him), and tbh I've had a few dreams since. Nothing huge, but certainly not the "I don't have dreams" others have claimed.
That said, when I was regularly smoking the stuff, I will say I didn't dream as much or tend to remember my dreams at all.
I don't smoke anymore...but also hardly ever have dreams anymore either.
Which I think is great...because I want to rest, not have whacko world playing on my mind's screen all night.
The best is when you are fully conscious - observing your body sleeping from just outside of it.
I never relied on dreams for insights etc - ever. I've always induced clairvoyance etc via fully awake meditation, Gateway or something like that.
Dreams while sleeping in my experience are just little snippets of your brain being washed in deep sleep & little bits collected throughout the day etc are recombined into a story...I've had that happen numerous times before.

I have been smoking most every day for going on forty years and my dreams are awesome.
I’d concur here… been sparkin the owl for about 35 years - dreams are fine.

Good to know. Are your dreams lucid?

My dreams are fine too. Whats this reefer madness?
Kek. I still dream if I have a small amount, I was reefering to heavy smokers. Lucid dreaming is impossible if I have any weed in my system at all, for me anyway.

That's the $64,000 question. Kek.

What helped Me to quit was knowing that the Lord is the Most High, and I don't need to be

If your family is all libs: weed helps you not give a fuck. May even help prevent war.
The drug against war?
Yes, getting people to say "aww fuck it" for today instead of; I am going to "SSRI some motherfuckers!"

Nicotine is better-opposite effect of weed.
Which one is demonized, and which one is being romanticized?
Nicotine is bad for the health industry. It sits on ACE 2 receptors that Covid-19 insert spikes attach to.
Nicotine helps keep people from getting sick.
1986 was when Congress gave vaccines secret courts and banned smoking on flights.

Last time I checked, marijuana use is a Federal crime.

Day 3 of zero weed. Had another single scotch-rocks before bed last night, now my two weekly drinks are used up.
Slept okay. Had a dream that I barely remember, it was good tho.
Fasting day today, see if that makes any difference..
fake news dude needs to start smoking and drinking.

Day 2 of zero weed begins. Had a single scotch-rocks before bed last night.
Slept well, best sleep in months, but had a bad nightmare that woke me up.
Fyi, for science..

I cannot stand the skunky smell of the sativa they seem to be handing out like candy.
It smells like shit even with my recirc. switched ON in the car🤮.
Don't the Chinese own a lot of weed farms?
They operate illegal grows in just about all of the lower 48.
