No THEY are not suing, they are recruited by activists who pay for the lawyers.
No one on SNAP can afford to hire a lawyer. Even in it is a contingency case, the client must pay the expenses; it is the lawyer payoff that is from the contingency.
Would also explain why weight loss is so difficult for so many Americans. You’re fighting a chemical addiction you might not even know you have. On top of an expanding Waistline.
locally we have things like a "help house" that is food donations ONLY that Many I know have used every so often when they are short. Local businesses donate there as well as citizens. Have another place that is kinda like a thrift store, every 2nd Thursday of the month, people can go there and pick up clothing, house hold items, décor, small furniture, toys, lawn care.. what ever has been donated for the month.. all for FREE and, the items they forward are all working and clean.. not just rusted/stained junk but, things a family can use and live with. heh. I can not speak for the inner cities but, I know from experience in medium/small/Christian towns.. you would have to "work very hard" to starve and not have the basics you around here.
There is no right to junk food when your lazy ass doesn't work. We can fix this easily. Each family gets a box of food with some staples, fresh fruit and vegetables, for each family member there is additional items of each of those. If they want junk food, let them get a job and spend their own money on it.
You want junk food, get a fucking job. If you are eating off out dime, you will eat healthy. This shit isn't rocket science. Or, how bout nothing at all?? Always an option.
With all that is going on in the world I've always thought the no junk food on EBT thing was the most stupid and manipulative bone ever tossed to us to make us think something is going our way. wInNiNg!!
It's the most hypocritical bullshit I've seen and the politicians behind it aren't worth used toilet paper so long as billions and billions of dollars go to our own government's fattening waste-line. Not to mention the billions and billions wasted on unhealthy things like freebies for invading foreign fraudsters, Zelensky's palaces, chemicals dumped in the atmosphere, the Pootomic river, California's intentional wildfires, and on and on and on.
You can get a government paid for 'free' COVID death shot, and use your EBT to buy a can of orange sugar with some noodles and a 'meat product' in it to give junior for lunch, but if Timmy wants a food stamp coke and hot dog this Fourth of July while two brutes face off in a cage match on the White House lawn, the answer is FUCK NO.
Screw em. Food Stamp ASSISTANCE, is to help (ASSIST) you all not to STARVE.. that is IT. It should only be healthy, life sustaining foods and NOT junk that provides no nutrients the body needs. Done.
Here are your choices: food stamps/EBT as you want it without restrictions and no health care coverage (because you are too f….ing stupid to understand your health is tied to what you eat and drink or only purchase quality food for that you cook with a real stove/oven/air fryer and health care. Your poor food choices and obesity are costing taxpayers. Those who are physically capable of working, must work. Obesity is not an excuse.
Withdrawals from the toxicity is real. May even have severe depressive disorders/ neurological side effects post withdraw due to the chemical concoctions causing severe endorphin and serotonin excretion and depletion. The chemical dependence is real. This is a bandaid removal, quick and painful, but is good for all in the long run.
I am sick of paying for their junk food and then their ridiculous healthcare costs for abusing their bodies and minds. Overdue! Food stamps should be like WIC with limited items and limited time periods. Living off of taxpayers hard work is OVER!
I was on food stamps back in the early 90s when you got a “book” of food stamps”money”. Talk about embarrassing to have to separate your food into can and can’t have piles. I was only allowed meat, bread, vegetables, milk, eggs, “some” soups, produce (fresh), non sugary cereal, rice, pasta and not a lot more. No laundry soap, bath soap, shampoo, toothpaste, ice cream, fruit punch, candy, cough syrup, aspirin and so many other NECESSITIES. Like TOILET PAPER! Then having to give my Monopoly money food stamps and get food stamps back as change! These people on food stamps have no idea how good they have it!!!!
*One plaintiff, Amanda Johnson of Knoxville, Tennessee, said letting her state's waiver take effect would restrict her autistic 19-year-old daughter to only three "safe" foods and beverages - one of which is bottled water - because of a serious eating disorder.
Johnson said her daughter's other six safe foods, including M&M's and Welch's fruit punch, would be ruled out. *
What could be this persons possible medical condition?
The daughter's primary medical condition matching this description is almost certainly Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), a recognized eating disorder in the DSM-5.
usnews.com
ARFID involves a persistent restriction or avoidance of food intake that leads to nutritional deficiencies, weight issues, dependence on supplements, or interference with daily life — without the body-image distortion or fear of weight gain seen in anorexia nervosa. It is especially common in autistic people (like the 19-year-old daughter here) because of sensory processing differences: certain textures, tastes, smells, colors, temperatures, or even brands can feel intolerable or even painful. Key matching details from the description: A tiny list of “safe” foods (only 9 total, reduced to 3 under the waiver, including plain bottled water).
Extreme brand and item specificity: M&M’s (exact candy), Welch’s fruit punch (exact drink), plus 5 others that are presumably just as narrow.
These safe foods are often highly processed or specific (candy and sugary drinks), which is classic in ARFID — patients frequently rely on the exact same brands and formulations because even slight changes trigger sensory aversion, anxiety, or gagging.
The plaintiff explicitly calls it a “serious eating disorder” tied to her autistic daughter’s needs, not allergies or diabetes (the reasons given by other plaintiffs in the same lawsuit).
Other eating disorders do not fit: Anorexia or bulimia typically revolve around weight/shape concerns and compensatory behaviors, not brand-specific “safe foods.”
Food allergies or intolerances are medical/immune issues, not classified as eating disorders.
General “picky eating” is too mild; this level of restriction (down to bottled water only) qualifies as a clinical disorder.
In ARFID treatment (often used with autistic patients), therapists literally make “safe food” lists and gradually expand them — exactly the language used in the plaintiff’s statement. The SNAP waiver at issue would eliminate the candy and sugary-drink category, cutting off 6 of her 9 safe items and leaving her with essentially nothing she can reliably consume. So, while the articles only say “serious eating disorder,” the combination of autism + extreme sensory-based food selectivity + reliance on a handful of specific branded items points directly to ARFID as the diagnosis. If more clinical details were available (e.g., from the court complaint), a doctor would likely confirm it with that label or the older term “selective eating disorder” sometimes still used in autism contexts.
" or to obtain energy boosts needed to conduct their daily lives."
Welcome to the world the rest of us live in you.... yea. Piss off

Yeah, big agriculture/food is funding this, I bet. It was the same with the lawsuit against the tariffs.
Coca Cola, Pepsi and all their subsidiaries, I bet
Do you need any more proof that this ultra-processed food is addictive?
Would also explain why weight loss is so difficult for so many Americans. You’re fighting a chemical addiction you might not even know you have. On top of an expanding Waistline.
Yes. Insulin resistance / hyper insulinemia drives obesity.
So Mountain Dew IVs aren’t good for you?
But Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes
😂
If we had judges with one ounce of common sense, there lawsuits would be thrown out of court before the ink was dry on the papers.
I say we cut the program entirely and let citizens donate to churches and legit charity orgs to feed the poor.
Problem is no one trusts charities anymore with their cash donations (with fair reasoning)... and cash donations are at their lowest in decades.
I know, I work for one of the largest church/charities ww.

Confused. What constitutes safe foods for an autist with eating disorder and involve m&m's and Welch's grape punch? Serious question.
if those things didn’t exist, they would magically gravitate toward something else?
And it must be purchased in great quantities to affect their rent AND transportation.

We have those here lol. Ignore them

Clown World marches on.
Baby steps. That's what the Dems do to the rest of the US. Look at gun control... a little at a time, not so painful, with an ultimate goal.
