I realise that I knew next to nothing about Charlie. I always thought he was simply the guy who could argue with lefties in the campus and teach them based views, but the more I listen to him now, the more I realise how deep and wide his knowledge was, how incredibly based he was in everything.

Yes, he was. And he began young on his path.

Just listened to Charlie's talk and I believe he was on target on every point. I'm going to attempt to just stop for 25 hours and experience peace...✨

The Sabbath is a gift from God to man but I am telling you from a former Sabbath keeper, you cannot put anything in front of our salvation by Jesus Christ ALONE. Nothing we do or keep will make us more favorable to God EXCEPT the complete and total surrender to Jesus as our one and only focus. Nothing wrong with keeping the Sabbath but just keep it in the right context.

Many Christians put Sunday worship in the same context as the Sabbath keepers put the Sabbath. They are bot equally wrong. Every day belongs to the Lord. He made them all.

I still keep the Sabbath but not like it is a requirement for a Christian and I am committing a sin by not keeping it.

The Sabbath has it place---along with the Passover and other Feasts that God calls HIS FEASTS in the Bible. They are not the "Jews Feast"! These feast days God calls His along with the Sabbath explain the entire plan of what God is doing and will do in the future.

Be blessed and let's have a Boom week ahead!

Charlie's message has got nothing to do with religion, but something that can actually change your life. But I agree, it should not be observed as some kind of a religious tenet, or with expectation that it will make you move favourable to Jesus or God or anything else.

This post is a 7th Day Adventist's dream. LOL! Unfortunately they will take it out of context like most others are doing but for a different reason.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17

Was it not commanded of Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Why? Because God said.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11

The difference between the Sabbath and the Sunday is in what authority you are deciding to follow. The Sabbath is the visible answer to choosing the authority of God. Why? Because God said.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4

By knowingly keeping a day that is not ordained in the law, then that very same law is being transgressed.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

But the Sabbath is not to be kept as works in order to earn salvation as wages. If this was the case, then the Creator would be indebted to the creation and the meaning of the Sabbath, as the recognition of God as the Creator and Redeemer of all things, would be flipped on its head.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:2-3

The Sabbath is kept as an outflow of love. The context absolutely does matter, and this is the the simplest, most straight-forward way to begin understanding the context.

I will have to disagree since you overlook what the Jerusalem Council said regarding the Law for Christian converts. The Jews were demanding the converts to Christianity to keep the Law---which was the Old Covenant--- the 10 Commandments were kept in the Ark of the COVENANT--and the council told Paul who objected to the Jews demanding the converts keep the Law that the new converts were to "Act 15:20  But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. "-------

Read all of Acts 15.

This is Acts 15:20:

But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

These are the Ten Commandments:

I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. Exodus 20:2-17

There is zero mention of the Ten Commandments in what you termed the "Jerusalem Council in regards for the Law for Christian converts".

This is the "old" covenant:

I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33

This is the "new" covenant:

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: Hebrews 8:10

The two are exactly the same.

Now what Acts 15 is referring to is the ceremonial law, also called the law of ordinances, or the handwriting of ordinances. Let us do a short Bible study to affirm this as true.

Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Deuteronomy 31:26

The ceremonial law, which was a shadow of things to come, were to remain on the side of the ark as a constant reminder of the condition of a fallen humanity. It served as a constant representation of the condition of man, and its instruction was meant to lead the minds to dwell on the Ten Commandments found within the Ark of the Covenant.

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Colossians 2:14-17

The Handwriting of Ordinances, being another name for the ceremonial law placed besides the ark, was fulfilled in its purpose serve as a witness and lead the minds towards Jesus Christ and the confirmation of a better law, being the Ten Commandments.

Now the word for "ordinances" is "dogmas" which can mean one of three things: civil law, ceremonial law, or ecclesiastical law. It does not reference ecclesiastical law as that system did not exist to be governed over.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him. Mark 12:17

And civil law is referenced here, which is in regards to civil obedience placed in stark contrast which is what to be rendered unto God, which is moral obedience (as an outflow of understanding and love) towards His commandments. Therefore, the dogma of ordinances, even in the language, must be referring to the ceremonial law. But let us go even further.

And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Ezekiel 45:17

Something to understand is that the New Testament unlocks the Old Testament and the Old Testament locks the New Testament rigidly into place. One can not be without the other, and what Paul is referring to is found here in Ezekiel. All of the details of the ceremonial law were to lead man unto reconciliation with the Creator, while the Sabbath and the Ten Commandments, the better promise, are about the restoration of the relationship and the declaration of Jesus Christ.

And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the Lord, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the Lord. Leviticus 23:18

The meat and drink offering are referring to the Feast of Weeks, a part of the ceremonial law as referenced in Acts 15. These have been "taken out of the way", as spoken of in Colossians 2:14.

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another: According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee: According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he sell unto thee. Psalm 42:4, Leviticus 23:6; 25:14-16

The holyday is in reference to annual feasts and holy days as too described here in the ceremonial law and whose practiced is describe in Psalm 42:4.

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord. And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the Lord in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the Lord: Psalm 81:3, Numbers 29:6, 1 Chronicles 23:31

The new moon is in reference to the New Moon Feast Days as again described here in the ceremonial law and chronicled again in the book of Chronicles. The sabbaths, plural, is referencing the ceremonial sabbaths which are distinct and different from the Seventh-Day Sabbath. But that is a whole study in an of itself. I will just briefly leave you with the words of Theophilus Brabourne:

There are two laws, a moral law consisting of 10 commandments: all written by the finger of God, upon tables of stone, and a ceremonial law written by Moses and delivered to the people; so are there Sabbaths moral [...] and sabbaths ceremonial [...] by Sabbaths here is meant only ceremonial sabbaths."

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. Leviticus 23:24,28,32

And finally, the "sabbath days" of the ceremonial law of Colossians, of the handwriting of ordinances of Acts 15, is in reference to the Feast of Trumpets or the Day of Atonement, all parts of the ceremonial law as seen here in Leviticus.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Genesis 2:2

The Sabbath, quite literally written into every single week, and the Ten Commandments, to be written into the flesh of the heart, can not marked up or changed as if they were writings on paper.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

Paul, and all of the disciples and apostles, were full of love. You will find zero mention in the entirety of the New Testament of even the modicum of idea, of even an iota of suggestion, to be done away with the Ten Commandments.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:2-3

And this is because the law is not to be followed as an obligation and as a necessity, but as an act of love. Once someone truly studies and understands the meaning of the moral law as written in the Ten Commandments, once the law becomes inscribed in the heart and the character of Jesus, as written in His law, becomes better understood, then the heart will not be able to restrain itself from acting in harmony His beautiful instruction. This obedience is not a wage to be earned, but a consequence of understanding the wage which was paid, in full, by Jesus.

I know all this but it makes no difference. The Ten Commandments WERE the Old Covenant. God said you do this and I will do that. The New Covenant is spiritual. Jesus said so in His Sermon on the Mount. The Law is spiritual and written in our hearts. The Sabbath of the Old Covenant was a day of rest for the people of God. The Sabbath of the New Covenant is spiritual and we have our rest in Christ to cease from "WORKS".

There is ZERO mention in Acts about the Ten Commandments because the Law of works was replaced by the New Covenant. The early church kept the Sabbath but they did NOT command that converts to Christ be weighed down by the law that neither their fathers or them could keep.

If you want to keep the Sabbath, more power to you but to say we could lose our salvation by not keeping is blasphemy!

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isaiah 28:10

Rather than allow the imaginations of our heart to run wild, let us again return to the Scripture and study line upon line, precept upon precept, on what is written. Truth very plainly written, and it is incredibly dangerous to try and read any extra thoughts into the Text. In studying the Bible diligently and prayerfully, always look to extract everything from the Text as it is written and in the context within which it is written.

They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. John 8:39

There is no ceasing of works, but the works that are to be done are not done in order to be saved, but are done as the visible fruits of salvation.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20

And the works which Abraham did were directly connected with the Moral Law of the Ten Commandments:

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Genesis 26:5, Galatians 3:29

And all those who are the children of Abraham are the children of a living faith that works, not a works that looks to earn salvation as wages for then the Creator would be indebted to His own creation. The keeping of the Law then rightly understood as an expression of gratitude and done as an outflow of love:

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

No where was it mentioned that by the works of the law is someone saved; if you truly knew all of what was written, then the response which was written would have been worded differently and contained Scripture, put in its proper context and with its proper understanding, to assert any claims.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:2-3

Again, the keeping of the law is the outward expression of faith, even as the works of Abraham that were done not in order to be saved, but as a conscious realization of being saved.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18

For heaven and earth are still here, and the great work of character building is on-going while today is still called today.

And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. Revelation 15:8

Because the final fulfillment comes with the final plague which have not yet come, but are soon to come.

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20

And that righteousness which you are speaking of is that of the scribes and the Pharisees, is a self-righteousness derived from exacting laws ceremonial, not laws Moral (being the Ten Commandments). If you truly read and pondered over the Bible study, then you would see and hear that the Scripture makes this abundantly clear.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. Mark 7:7-8

Where is the washing of pots and cups in the Ten Commandments? These ceremonial and traditional laws were the burdens that you speak of, not the Moral Law, for the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees was a self-righteousness that refused to differentiate between the Moral law and the ceremonial law, just as you are doing now, despite claiming to understand the Scripture. The scribes and the Pharisees too claimed to understand Scripture.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. Hebrews 4:4-8

Now if Jesus Himself is rest, as some mistakenly believe, then there would “not afterward have spoken of another day”.

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:7-10

To rest as God did is to rest on the seventh day from all works, just as commanded in the Fourth Commandment. Do notice the word "day" in Hebrews 4:8 is translated from the Greek "hēmera" which is the equivalent of the Hebrew "yom". The word "day" therefore represents a very real, a very physical, evening and morning, sunset to sunset, 24 hour day.

But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matthew 24:20-21

Now if there was not a physical day to rest, then there would not be a direct admonishing that the Sabbath be kept even in the future as read here in Matthew 24:20.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Luke 4:16

Because the keeping and preaching to the effort of sanctification, to the effort of character building, was done during the Sabbath.

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Acts 17:2

And Paul, along with the disciples, followed in the example of Jesus and reasoned in the Scriptures with them on the Sabbath day.

And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. Acts 18:4

With the reasoning being of the Moral law, and the "them" being both Jew and Greek.

And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Acts 13:42

Because the Sabbath was made for all as a day of restoration, not as a day of obligation. It is a decision which each individual makes, but to say that it is spiritual and to put it on par with the Sunday, if you truly had an understanding of what you were saying, then you would realize the error in those words.

Now to rest is, as the word implies, to rest. How can it then be works? It is then not to work, but it is to discard all feelings of pride and thoughts of self-sufficiency and be rid of any imaginations of the heart which seek to add to a work of salvation that was completed before the world began (2 Timothy 1:9). The works have already been completed, and the Sabbath of rest is to physically rest in that understanding as a day given to grow in a relationship with God and restore that which was lost in Eden.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: Genesis 3:4

Now what was lost in Eden? Wise moral conduct, as the word for "die" is the Hebrew "mûṯ", meaning "a neglect of wise moral conduct". Where is wise moral conduct found? How will man learn of what was lost in Eden? How can there be an expulsion on the basis of the neglect of law, then a claim that a return is too on a neglect of law, on a spiritualization of law? Governments and countries have law, and "law and order" is even one of the idioms of the administration, yet there is no expectation of a higher law, a heavenly law, to understand? This is not reasonable even by the imaginations of the heart, let alone the teaching of Scripture.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Isaiah 14:12-14

Lucifer was banished from Heaven due to his selfish mindset of covetousness.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. Exodus 20:17

The Tenth Commandment, the capstone of the second table of stone of the Moral Law, speaks not about the action, but about the same mindset of covetousness which caused the fall of Lucifer.

Just as there are laws on earth, there is verily a law in heaven. Just as you do not ideally keep the law on earth in order to not receive punishment, but because "well, it is the right thing to do", it is the Moral Law of the Ten Commandments which teach what is that right thing to do in order to form the character. To keep the law as works of salvation is not salvational, but to keep the law as a desire to learn how to love, as a desire to learn more of the unchanging character of God that can not simply be spiritualized away as the Ten Commandments is verily the transcript of the character of God, is the fruit of salvation.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19

Because to teach the Ten Commandments is to teach of the character of God, even to make known the love of God.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3

The Ten Commandments were a physical law written on tables of stone. They were the Old Covenant made between God and the nation of Israel. A promise from God that if Israel would obey His laws He would bless them and make them prosper in the land He gave them. What happened? Israel could not obey the laws. It is impossible for anyone to obey these laws spiritually. They broke every one of the Ten and God finally gave them up for punishment. They ceased to become a nation but what man could not do, God did for us. He sent Jesus to obey the Law not just physically but also spiritually. Jesus outlined the spiritual aspect of the Commandments in His Sermon on the Mount. NOBODY can fulfill the spiritual aspect of the Commandments. Jesus knew this and it why He died on the cross so through faith in His death and resurrection we could be saved---not by any of our righteousness but by His righteousness.

You say you keep the Sabbath? Do you prepare all your meals on Friday so you will have something to eat during the Sabbath? If not, you broke the Sabbath. Do you stay in your home never going outside on the Sabbath? Israel was commanded to stay in their tents on the Sabbath and rest. Do you do any physical activity on the Sabbath? If so you break the Sabbath. Do you drive your car to church on the Sabbath? You broke the Sabbath.

Keeping the Sabbath is fine but it is NOT required for salvation. Adding ANYTHING as a requirement to salvation is denying the sacrifice of Jesus was not sufficient. THAT is blasphemy.

I am sorry to say, but it seems like you did not read more than perhaps one or two lines of the over 25,000 characters of Bible study written exclusively for you. If you did, then you would not say something like this as if it was new,

Adding ANYTHING as a requirement to salvation is denying the sacrifice of Jesus was not (you added the "not" but that is a slip of the tongue unless you meant to say "saying" instead of "denying") sufficient.

for that never was once insinuated in any of the three studies. In fact, even thinking to use works as a means to earn salvation, as if salvation could be earned as wages, was specifically rebuked. Dozens of verses of Scripture were all corroborated in order to show the purely Scriptural understanding of faith, works, obedience, and most importantly, love.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1 John 5:2

But your confusion, because perhaps you did read but do not quite understand the language that is used in the Bible, is in what law is being spoken of. Again, to reiterate, there is the Moral Law of the Ten Commandments, the civil law, and the ceremonial law. All of the theories that you conclude, and all of the grievances that you spoke of, are either found in the civil law, or in the ceremonial law. There is nothing grievous in the Moral Law:

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3

Now a king is not without his government, and a government is not without its laws. Again, if you lump in the civil and ceremonial laws with the Moral Law, which is what you are doing and what the Pharisees also did, then you are denying the law of the government of God. By throwing out the Moral Law with the civil law and the ceremonial law, you are throwing the baby out with the bathwater, and in this specific case, that means that you are verily throwing out Jesus. Knowingly or not, you are rejecting His position as King of kings, as Lord of lords, as Messiah, as Christ, and are doing just as what the large majority of the Pharisees did.

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Matthew 15:1-8

If you truly seek a heart wisdom, a heart knowledge, and a heart understanding of what is written in the Word of God, then go back and prayerfully read through those three studies. Go back and discover the love of God as written in His Moral Law.

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Mark 6:34, John 14:21

Because keeping the Moral Law is the testament, even the covenant, of love.

couple things you may want to look into, firstly, the "precept upon precept" verse is not a verse of praise or command on how to study the Scriptures, it's a form of derision. The stubborn Israelites were basically viewing the prophets God sent as kindergarden teachers, telling them "do this, that, the other thing, don't do that". God was rebuking them in Is. 28, not commending them for their godly reverence of His Word.

second, "Lucifer" is a nickname of mockery God was giving to the arrogant king of Babylon in Is. 14. It is thanks to the somewhat curious retention of the Latin word for "shining one" that we have such a lore surrounding the word Lucifer. The passage is quite simple: The king of Babylon thought he was a god, thought he could do anything. God said nuh uh! kek

Wonderful mention of the context! You are absolutely right! If the use of the Text was misinterpreted, then apologies. There was no intent to infer praise or command or derision or anything else. It was only to give an introduction into how to study the Bible, especially when there is a lack of understanding, because remember, rebuke is given as loving instruction for the purpose of edification.

And also on Lucifer:

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Isaiah 14:12

You are absolutely right about the description of the king of Babylon, but his description was given as being in the image of Satan. Just as in Ezekiel and describing the prince of Tyre and the king of Tyre (Ezekiel 28), one literal and one spiritual describing the Satanic mindset that ruled over Tyre just as it did over Babylon, here too Isaiah, who was a contemporary of Ezekiel, is describing the spiritual mindset of the king of Babylon as that belonging to Satan. It is sort of a double application, physical and spiritual, in one Verse. Good catch!

And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:4

Because the falling away from heaven, or the being cast away from heaven, is too a literal description of Satan.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:16

And in both the Hebrew and the Greek the same word is used for "morning". So the "son of the morning" is too a description of Satan when he was under the epithet of Lucifer, as the Morning Star is Jesus.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Colossians 1:16

For the angels are too described as "morning stars":

When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:7

Wonderful catches! Thank you for adding clarification and allowing the study to grow! How beautiful!

Re: Jeremiah 31

if you go back two verses it is shown that verse 33 cannot be the Old Covenant. The covenant in verse 33 is distinct from the covenant just referenced in 31-32, which is the actual Old Covenant.

After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

after what days? remember Jeremiah was prophesying in Babylon during the captivity, prior to the Second Temple era, and centuries before the Third Temple era, aka the era of Christ Jesus. (destroy this temple...)

Jesus paying the price for sin on the cross is what caused God "to forgive our iniquity and remember our sin no more", right?

Jeremiah foresaw the New Covenant, some 600-ish years in the future. But it would be a long haul up until it, with God even withholding all communication with backslidden Israel after Malachi was sent.

What a wonderful catch! A text without a context is a pretext, after all. So let us do a little more detailed study of the Bible in order to trace and analyze the covenant and show that the "New Covenant" is not different from the "Old Covenant", but is rather where the shadows of the "Old" are confirmed and affirmed in the substance of the "New". After all, the New Testament unlocks the Old Testament, then the Old Testament locks the New Testament rigidly into place.

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Exodus 19:5-6

The "Old Covenant" and the association with being a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, is no different than the description of those "as part of the New Covenant" as written by Peter:

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:9

The context is right this time! Now here is the very beginning of the covenant:

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:15

Then repeated (see: re-instated) through Noah:

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. Genesis 9:8-10

Then repeated (see: re-instated) through Abraham:

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. Genesis 17:7

And the condition of the covenant was neither nation nor creed nor lineage, but faith and obedience as outflows of love:

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Genesis 22:18

Now Abraham was visited again, and the covenant was again repeated to him in his old age:

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. Genesis 17:1-2

And the condition was no different, for there is no once saved always saved, there is no once covenanted always covenanted. There is a work to do on behalf of the one who appropriates the signature of Christ.

For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8

Because while man has a desperately wicked and deceitful heart (Jeremiah 17:9), the Lord changes not. If the covenant, which is based on a law, could change, then the law could be changed.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 John 3:4, Romans 6:23

And if the law could be changed, either in the time of the "Old Covenant" or the "New Covenant", then there would be no need for death. This is even ratified in the Sabbath:

He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great. The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:13-15

The bold part contains the signature of God which is found in the Sabbath. The promise which precedes it is no different than the "Old Covenant" promise continued through Abraham. Interestingly enough, even the Sabbath was instituted in Eden, re-affirmed in the wilderness with the manna (Exodus 16), then re-affirmed again as Jesus rested, momentarily, in the grave (Mark 15:42; 16:1).

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Galatians 3:16

Now the seed which the promise was made for meets its substance in Jesus.

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58

And Jesus changes not. Now the reason why the Jewish picked up stones afterwards, in John 8:59, was because Jesus said that He was God:

And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:14

The "I am" is the same as the "I Am That I Am", Hāyâ 'ăšer Hāyâ, or "Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh" (אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה). This is a name of God, of Jesus, which in the Hebrew is YHWH, and in the Greek is referenced as the Tetragrammaton.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Galatians 3:29, Hebrews 2:15

The covenant has always been conditional on Jesus, the same Jesus found in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. As Jesus changes not, neither would His covenant of faith, trust, and obedience as outflows of love.

He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. Psalm 89:26-28

The word for "stand fast" is "aman", meaning "to be confirmed, to be verified, to be established". The covenant is not made new with Jesus Christ, it is confirmed, verified, and established through Jesus Christ. The covenant promises are made available only through the faith of Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:20), or else Enoch would not have been translated (Genesis 5:24), Elijah would not have been translated (2 Kings 2:11), and Moses would not have been resurrected (Jude 1:9) before the events recorded in the New Testament: the covenant promise of life and relationship begins and ends with Jesus, whether as written in the Old Testament, or in the New Testament.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Daniel 9:24

Now the word for "determined" is "hatak", meaning "to divide, to be marked out". This prophecy is the confirmation of, and its fulfillment is the affirmation of, Jesus as Messiah.

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:26

When the "cutting off" was not for Himself, it is because He is in no need of His own salvation: rather, it is His signature that each person has to appropriate by faith, and show the fruits thereof in out-flowing works of grace, in the signing of the same covenant decreed from everlasting to everlasting.

Now the word for "cut off" is "karat", meaning "to cut" or "to make a new covenant, to make an alliance". Wow! This part you are especially going to love! What comes right after this word? "but not for Himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary". Who were the ones to destroy the city and the sanctuary? Pagan Rome! With an alliance with who? Simon Maegus, the Sadducees, and the Pharisees! The "New Covenant" theology, from this Verse alone, is verily Roman. A covenant will always be bound by a set of laws, and any system or teaching that has done away with the Moral Law has no problem teaching that the covenant has changed.

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Hebrews 8:6

Now the Biblical covenant as explained in the New Testament is not different than, but is better than, the covenant as explained in the Old Testament. This is because the time had come for Jesus Christ to verify His signature on the covenant that was to be directly given to the whole world. All of the earthly promises as contained in the Sanctuary message had become heavenly promises directly available to all of the creation, just as the covenant had began in Adam and Eve in whom all creation were first begat.

And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24

The word "new" here is "neos", meaning "youthful, regenerated, fresh". In harmony with Hebrews 8:6, it is not speaking of a different covenant, but of a covenant regenerated, re-instated, re-confirmed, re-affirmed, from the time of Eden.

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Hebrews 9:12

Because all of the shadows written into the earthly Sanctuary were given to lead the mind to the substance of the work that Jesus is doing right now in the Heavenly Sanctuary.

For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Isaiah 61:8

Now directing the everlasting covenant in truth is directing the work according to the law (Psalm 119:142), the Word (John 17:17), and Jesus (John 14:6).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

And "in the beginning" is an indefinite article, so therefore the Word, being Jesus who changes not, is from everlasting to everlasting just as His covenant.

But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Psalm 103:17-19

And the covenant promises will always be an unchanging and everlasting expression of love.

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. Genesis 17:7

For remember, the covenant was to be "a God unto thee". These conditions have never changed, as God never changes.

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 5:9

For Jesus is both the Author and the Signer of eternal salvation, and the unchanging conditions of an unchanging covenant authored by an unchanging God are, well, unchanging. You already know this, but they are to have His imputed and imparted Signature on that covenant document through the appropriation of His faith and the sanctification through His grace.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12

Are we really saying that some aspect of Jewish law is still in force to keep people out of heaven if they don't obey it? Why do people want so badly to have rules to obey? Is the freedom of faith so scary?

I have been in churches where the pastors dragged up some tenet of Mosaic law saying we were in trouble if we didn't observe it, and I will tell you this, if you try to retrofit Mosaic law into the new covenant you will ruin both and neither will do you any good.

Did you even listen to what he said? Its got nothing to do with keeping people out of heaven. Its about a small change in your life (hack) that will make your life so much better.

Show me where exactly Charlie says anything about getting in trouble? Dont try to project your pastors' words to what Charlie was saying.

Fair point. I concede that Charlie never said that, but I stand by what I said on the general issue because many Christian pastors do make obedience to some point of Mosaic law a requirement for salvation while at the same time saying we are saved by grace. Otherwise they require obedience to some point of the law to obtain the blessing that comes of obedience to the commandment they selected and separated out of the law, saying that believers will be cursed if they don't comply. But you can't obey part of the law without obeying all of it, and Paul makes it clear that a human can't be saved by the law. The Jews of his day wanted him to include just one Mosaic commandment in the Gospel to make it acceptable, just one, but he wouldn't budge an Inch because he knew where it would lead.

How can they say we can be cursed by not obeying the law when Jesus nailed the law to his Cross. His blood doesn't just cover our sin, it eradicates it in an exchange in which we receive a gift of righteousness through our faith. We don't need an external law because the law is written on our hearts according to Jeremiah 30:33. In this passage God said he was going to make a new covenant that wouldn't be like the one he made with the fathers who died in the wilderness after they left Egypt. He said it wouldn't be "according to" that previous covenant and that means it wouldn't operate on the same principles. We have to get this right. The new covenant, everything in the new covenant, is accessed by faith, it is grace that teaches us to walk righteously, and the love of God is our pattern for righteous living.

I have no problem with people observing days if their conscience tells them they must, but I do have a problem with people telling other people they must, and I have a problem with people offering a free gospel of grace and then slapping on the chains of the law as soon as the church door closes behind them.

Organised religion is a control system. You dont need a pastor to tell you what to do. If you read just the Gospels, you will already feel inside your heart and know what Jesus wanted you to know.

I have been in churches where the pastors dragged up some tenet of Mosaic law saying we were in trouble if we didn't observe it

“brb, murdering some schmucks and stealing their wives, daughters, and property, and celebrating by sodomizing a goat. If anybody asks, I didn’t do it.”

The entire NT is based on the OT. If you delete the “OT”, you delete the foundations of the NT, many of which were assumed by the apostles and not even covered, as a large part of what they were doing was addressing errors.

Sure, my example above is taking it to an absurd point, but one point that we see that is actively being taught, presently, and causing extreme division in many churches, is “sodomy is just an expression of love”. They’re able to teach that because the foundations have been removed in peoples’ minds.

Instead of calling it the “Old Testament”, and “New Testament”, which is not how it became structured from the time of Christ, call it the “Teachings/Law, Prophets, and Writings”, and the “New Covenant”, which did not abolish the former, but fulfill it, by Jesus’ own words, where “fulfill” means “walked it out in perfection and as an example”.

Note that one thing that was “abolished” in a sense was the old sacrificial system, but only by a superior method being provided for the its purposes, and not by the tenets of it being destroyed.

Absolutely.

To put the reasoning another way:

  1. The law says do not go faster than 35 mph in a residential area
  2. The enforcement (condemnation) of that law is removed
  3. Is it now acceptable to drive 180 mph in a residential zone?
  4. Does driving 35mph result in salvation through obedience, or is that obedience an outward manifestation of a will that is naturally concerned for others?

“Faith” = “Obedient Action resulting from Belief”, and not “Belief” alone.

Obedient action according to what resulting in belief from what?

  • If we are members of the Kingdom of God, we should constantly be concerned for what is best for our fellow members. Where are those things defined, biblically?
  • If we are the temple wherein the Spirit of the Lord desires to indwell, are we not thereby under obligation to perform the priestly duties? What are the duties that the priests are called upon to perform for temple worship?

Correct, abstaining from stealing from your neighbor does justify us. Attending congregation does not justify us. Faith does. If we are faithful we will try to obediently observe those things.

There are simply more things to observe than what is taught in Christian pulpits.

Is it not odd, that of all the Torah teachings, that one of the few non-Decalogue teachings the church has retained is the Tithe (which can’t even be observed today)?

I knew this would open a can of worms. It always does when you give a religious opinion. People who need other people to believe as they do in order to feel secure can get pretty angry with folks who don't agree. It's no different from the reactions of the woke folks, and that should tell you that this kind of defensive reaction comes from something that is common to humanity, and not so righteous as some suppose.

I am not advocating the destruction of the Mosaic law or saying that people can't find relevant good in it that will shed light on the New Covenant (so called in Jeremiah 31:31). Nor am I saying that people should abandon or change the law to embrace sin. What I am saying is that you can't retrofit the law into the Gospel of Grace. You can't say you are saved by grace but you must also do this commandment of the law or be cursed.

God writes the law on our hearts according to Jeremiah 31:31. It went from outside to inside. It might still be relevant for teaching righteousness to sinners, but no one should be using it to put fear into believers. Paul said we have not been put in bondage again to fear, and he was talking about the fear that comes from the law. We are completely accepted in Jesus through His blood, and I won't compromise on that issue. The law did teach us what sin is, but now Grace should be teaching us what righteousness is, pulling our focus away from sin to behold what is holy and good in heaven.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17 NKJV)

I’m not angry here, fren. Just addressing words as I see them, with understanding as I have it, but it’s also true that words can be tricky things to actually convey meaning with. If you understood anger rather than passion out of my emphases, apologies.

What I am saying is that you can't retrofit the law into the Gospel of Grace. You can't say you are saved by grace but you must also do this commandment of the law or be cursed.

Agreed. That simply (obviously) wasn’t what I understood from your statements. Allow me to rephrase that last statement for what I was trying to say.

You should keep and do this commandment of the law as a fruit of salvation.

Many have stepped past that to preaching, “trying to keep the law is legalism”, to the point that it is mainstream to have that position.

We are completely accepted in Jesus through His blood, and I won't compromise on that issue. The law did teach us what sin is, but now Grace should be teaching us what righteousness is, pulling our focus away from sin to behold what is holy and good in heaven.

Conveying the nature of walking these lines can be a tricky thing, indeed. I do agree with this, and am trying to add the balancing side of the statement.

Thanks for your very kind reply. Balance away, my patriot frien. (Boy, the spellcheck really doesn't like that.) I didn't mean to insinuate that you were insecure. I really didn't. I just picked your post to reply, and it was more of a general statement. I was trying to make the point that people often excuse their anger when religion is involved, and their passion can blind them to their own confirmation bias. (i.e. using scripture to confirm something they want to believe or were taught to believe instead of taking it for what it says.)

Tricky indeed.

I'm glad you aren't angry. It's not so pleasant to have a conversation out of doors where the rabid people are.

God's law is a reflection of God's character.

When Jesus says that the greatest commandments are love God and love neighbor and that all of the law hangs upon these two things, he isn't negating the law, he's telling us that God's law is how you love God and love neighbor.

We're not justified by the law anymore, we're justified by grace under the New covenant but the general equity of God's law is still relevant today. Our founding fathers knew and understood this which is why they based the Constitution and the Bill of Rights off of the general equity of God's law.

God didn't rest on the 7th day because he needed to, he did it because it was good.

@ u/The_Greeat_Ship_Pilot I don't think that is what the issue is here, though I voted you up for a good question!:

  1. We can't get to Heaven on our works, because our work misses the mark of both action and intent: See Matthew 5: 48 Even the Ten Commandments cannot both be kept in letter or spirit without the Holy Spirit.

  2. There was always a way for those who committed unintentional sin to show repentance, both under the Law and under Grace. Jesus never rebuked anyone for keeping the Law, the rebuke was for prioritizing the traditions of man over the Law of God., and for not keeping it, while acting as if keeping it.

  3. The Law of God serves three purposes:

a) To show us what God's standard of living is

b) To reveal to us our missing the mark of that standard

c) to point us to Jesus our Messiah and Lord, who did meet the standard perfectly!

  1. As Paul points out in Romans 7, the Law as an overriding emphasis will cause your old sinful nature to come out in spades - and every other suit! This is why our focus is to be on Christ, and not on the Law in and of itself - and we know that the Law is not the problem, because Paul says the Law is holy, just and righteous .

  2. We are the problem! As Pogo put it: "We have met the enemy, and he is us!" see point 4)

  3. The context is in relation to fasting - NOT the Moral Law!:

Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”

And Jesus said to them, “The [fn]attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. “But no one puts [fn]a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for [fn]the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results. “Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”

Thank you in advance, all readers of this comment for your patience with this rather long explanation. I appreciate all who take the time to read it!

So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. James 2:12

Our character is formed by the daily decisions which we make. These decisions will always have a foundation of morality, and morality will always be dictated by a law. There can be no freedom without law, and therefore there can be no love without law, for love is a choice afforded by freedom. Thus while freedom is to do what is wanted, true freedom, dubbed liberty, is when the freedom to do what is wanted is in harmony with the will of God, which is the sanctification of the living soul (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). The Sabbath is the only day to explicitly recognize such sanctification (Ezekiel 20:12).

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18

Now the faith of Jesus is reasonable, and reasoning is part of our design. Our frontal lobe, the pre-frontal cortex which sits in our forehead, is the seat of the decision making center, being the reasoning center, of the brain. This is the seat of authority which God will sit in if we choose Him and His character.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

The word here for “breath” is “nᵊšāmâ”, a feminine noun meaning “spirit, divine inspiration, intellect”. Our design has the dust of our physical being acting as the temple for the Spirit of God (John 4:24). The merciful Voice speaking in our conscious, the Divinely inspired feelings of righteousness which sit in the seat of our intellect, are the works of none other than God Himself. If there was no law, then why does your conscious sting when you do something wrong? If there was no law, then why does your conscious sing when you submit yourself to Jesus and allow Him to make the right decision for you? The mind is then the connection between heaven and earth: the dust represents a piece of earth, the breathe represents a piece of heaven, and it is only through the reasoning of God being fed through our mind that we can choose to allow God to work His saving works. This is faith, even a faith that works.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

Now what is being reasoned over in Isaiah 1:18 is verily a description of the Ancient of days, being God the Father: just as Isaiah 1:18 mentions “white as snow” and “as wool”, so too does Daniel 7:9 use these adjectives when describing the Ancient of days.

I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. Daniel 7:9

And without the Sabbath, as the Fourth Commandment of the Decalogue, it is impossible to understand the character of God. This is because the Ten Commandments, the Law of God, is a transcript of His character. Both the law and the character are described using the very same adjectives: just (Romans 3:26; 7:12), true (John 3:33, Nehemiah 9:13), pure (1 John 3:3, Psalm 19:7-8), liberty (Psalm 119:45, James 1:25), light (1 John 1:5, Proverbs 6:23), faithful (1 Corinthians 1:9, Psalm 119:86), good (Nahum 1:7, Romans 12:7,16), spiritual (1 Corinthians 10:1-4, Romans 7:14), holy (Isaiah 6:3 & 1 Peter 1:15, Exodus 20:8 & Romans 7:12), truth (John 14:6, Psalm 119:142,151), life (1 John 14:6, John 12:50 & Matthew 19:17), righteous (Jeremiah 23:6, Psalm 119:172), perfect (Matthew 5:48 & Hebrews 13:8, Psalm 19:7, James 1:26), and eternal (John 8:35 & Hebrews 13:8, Psalm 111:8 & Luke 16:17).

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

So it is reasonable to accept the character of God and His selfless law in the place of our own selfish character and the desperately wicked laws of our own heart. This is true freedom.

He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30

True freedom is not found in keeping the law in order to be saved as if earning salvation as wages, but true freedom is found in keeping the law as the acknowledgment of being saved, even as the desire to be in the image of His perfection as self fades into oblivion.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. Luke 16:17

Because listening to the wicked and deceitful heart is verily denying the law and is thus verily denying Jesus Christ.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:2-3

I just attended a meeting at my church yesterday where we watched all 3 sessions of "Feast" by Kristi McLelland. It was such a blessing. The focus of the event was the Sabbath. I now look at it completely differently. It isnt just about ceasing doing your works. It is actually about taking a day to rest from the world and concerns of the world and instead focusing on celebrating the restorative work that God has been and continues to do. Sabbath is a celebration of restoration.

As for me and my family, we will from today forward, spend time every Sabbath (which can be any day of the week for you and your family) celebrating the restorative work God has been and is doing in the world, in our family, and in our lives.

In 2019, Turning Point UK launched at the Royal Automobile Club under Prince Michael of Kent, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons and the Provincial Grand Master of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex.

Written in Albert Pike's "Morals and Dogma", the "Holy Scripture" of Freemasonry, is the following:

[...] the Templars, who subsequently, as will be seen, concealed themselves under the name of Brethren Masons. [...] This name, Freres Macons in the French, adopted by way of secret reference to the Builders of the Second Temple, was corrupted in English into Free-Masons [...] But before [the execution of Jacques de Molai and his fellows], the Chief of the doomed [Order of the Knights Templars] organized and instituted what afterward came to be called the Occult, Hermetic, or Scottish Masonry. [...] The initials of his name, J B M found in the same order in the first three Degrees, are but one of the many internal and cogent proofs that such was the origin of modern Free-Masonry.

Freemasonry, arising from the Knights Templars, is an arm of the system of Roman Catholicism and have been in control of TPUSA since its inception. So it seemed that Charlie Kirk, before his assassination, had began to question the system that he had found himself in.

In 2025, speaking on the Biblical Sabbath that occurs every Saturday of the week, Charlie said:

[The Sabbath is] simply the prioritization of the question of who's in charge. It's that simple. And if you believe God is in charge, and if you believe Genesis 1:1, because the Shabbat is a question of whether or not you believe Genesis 1:1. And if you believe Genesis 1:1, then you honor the Sabbath. [...] And I will challenge the Christian church because I believe this is the most ignored commandment of the Decalogue to our own detriment. [...] Charlie, why do you talk about Shabbat so much? You're a Christian. And I say, Look, first of all, if you believe Jesus is Lord, then you believe in the creation and the promises of God are complete through the entire Bible.”

This is why Charlie Kirk was assassinated: he bit the hand that fed him and began to question the authority of the religious system that has been insidiously taking over the United States of America. It is no small coincide that Rome claims its own day, the Sunday, as their "Roma Dia", as the day which represents their claim to authority.

Now the very year of his assassination, Charlie Kirk began to publicly question the authority which his founders and funders all pay obeisance to, which is the system of Roman Catholicism. But none of this is new to the system of Roman Catholicism. About 500 years ago, another man named Martin Luther, a man which Rome calls a “heretic rebel”, expressed the very same sentiments. On the Sabbath he wrote:

although [man] lost the knowledge of God by sin, yet God willed that this command concerning the sanctifying of the Sabbath should remain. He willed that on the seventh day both the word should be preached and also those other parts of His worship performed which He Himself instituted.

But Luther was even more direct than Kirk, stating that only a Satanic system, which the Bible prophetically pins as the system of Roman Catholicism, would be “unable to endure this most beautiful creation of man, and this holy appointment of the Sabbath”.

In his book "Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life", Charlie says the following:

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 In the final book of Scripture, God's people are identified as those who hold two defining marks: They trust in Jesus, and they keep God's commandments. These are not two different camps, but one people - faithful to both covenant and Christ. The Sabbath commandment is the longest, most detailed of the Ten, and the only one that explicitly identifies God as Creator. It makes sense, then, that in an apocalyptic age defined by spiritual deception and false worship, the Sabbath would reemerge as a sign of fidelity.

What is so significant about a day? Does the day matter? And if it does matter, why does a day matter so much in this battle of good vs. evil, or in more apt words, righteousness vs the lack thereof?

The Sabbath is the mark of the authority of God, and any system which claims any other day is claiming to be their own authority.

But what is so significant about a day? Does the day matter? And if it does matter, why does a day matter so much in this battle of good vs. evil, or in more apt words, righteousness vs the lack thereof? To answer to these questions, let us look to Adam and Eve:

And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:15-17

After Adam and Eve were placed in the garden of Eden, the Creator told His creation that they should not eat of one particular tree out of every other tree in the garden, lest the consequence of death be upon them. This instruction, this law, like all other instruction in the Bible, was given with the knowledge that it could be fulfilled.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

But after eating of the tree, Adam, Eve, and their posterity, would surely die within a day, as the chronicled lives of the antediluvians lasted near, but not up to, a thousand years.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Genesis 3:1

And it was the serpent, being Satan, who introduced Eve to feelings of doubt regarding the Word of God before presenting his own instruction as an alternative authority.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:4-5

And we are daily seeing the results of a world growing under this selfish mindset fueled by covetous lies: a world full of blood, tears, and loneliness, where justice stands afar off, judgment has its backed turned, mercy is but a thin covering over selfishness, and equity is trampled in the streets.

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Genesis 3:2-3

After being spoken to by God, then spoken to by the serpent, the woman had two words pitted against each other: the Word of the Creator, and the word of the creation. Herein is the clash of minds which the world is going through today, herein is the battle of principalities and powers faced by every people, tribe, nation, and tongue.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6

But in the moment where her reason gave way for the desires of her flesh as her body saw the tree pleasant to look at and its fruit good for food, Eve, and shortly after Adam, chose the authority of the word of the creation over the authority of the Word of the Creator.

Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Corinthians 10:11

If humanity momentarily separated themselves from God because of a choice to listen to the creation over the Creator, then in order to restore a relationship with the God, it is only reasonable that humanity must come back into harmony with the Voice of the Creator. Unlike the subtil words of the serpent, His Word, His Voice, are spoken in all truth and clarity for the purpose of our benefit and our sanctity. Throughout the life of every single person on this earth, there is a decision to be made as to which word to listen to, as to which relationship to be a part of.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God. Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. 2 Corinthians 11:3, Matthew 6:24, Leviticus 20:7, Deuteronomy 5:12

When the serpent presented his own words, his own case for being the moral authority in the lives of man, in it was the statement of “being as gods, knowing good and evil”. The creature being as gods implies independence from the Creator God, but it is the Word of the Creator which sustains and upholds all things (Hebrews 1:3). The creature knowing good and evil implies separation from the authority of the Creator, but the laws of creation are subject to the Writer of those laws, being Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:16-20). Listening to the words of the serpent is claiming to be self-sustaining and self-governing, but this self governance is one which sits on the throne of iniquity, absent of all moral wisdom and knowledge.

As a short aside, if Satan covets the authority of God (Isaiah 14:13-15), and If the Sabbath represents the Creator and His creation, would not the mark of the beast be a counterfeit to represent some authority of Satan over a fallen creation marred in the image of his sin (Ephesians 2:2)? Would this counterfeit mark not represent the mark given to Cain that represents a system trying to earn salvation as wages (Genesis 4:15)? Just some food for thought.

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:23,26-27

Now in our design, the brain is placed at the very top for a reason: every single function, every single impulse of the body, begins with a signal from the brain. This is why the traditions of the world seek to numb the brain with excitement: bypassing the reasoning of the brain, the body then moves solely based on the stimulation of the senses. This is not how things should be, for the mind should be directing the body, not the body directing the mind.

Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. Ezekiel 20:12

The Sabbath is given as a sign, as a mark, of sanctification, of righteous living, under the authority of the Lord who wishes to heal and restore relationship, as opposed to the systems of the world which work to burden and destroy the living soul. The initial conflict in the Garden of Eden was over two mindsets, two sets of instructions, one given through the Word of the Creator, and the other through word of the creation. Since then, the Sabbath has continued to serve as a weekly reminder and opportunity to listen to the godly instruction that was first spoken to the pair in Eden. Just as the fruit of the tree looked good for food, so too does Saturday seem good for work. But the Sabbath is kept because God said, just as the tree was not to be eaten of because God said.

I read every word of thIs response and it deeply resonates with me and my own understanding of what Satanism really is, thanks for this.

I have suspected TPUK was controlled the moment i learnt that candace’s husband was the president.

Do you have any evidence that TPUSA is controlled by the masons?

That is wonderful. The Bible, unlike any other "holy scripture" in the world such as the Book of the Dead or the Enuma Elis or the Gilgamesh Epic or the Aeneid or the book of Enoch or whatever other imagination of the heart, is proven by prophecy, affirmed by archaeology, and upheld by history. Only by turning its pages do we not only discover the great controversy raging in this world, but so too do we discover the great solution presented for its controversy.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20

Now in order to unravel some of the threads which are woven into the rough garment of TPUSA, we have to understand that Satan has all types of counterfeit agents working to further his aims. The Masons are only one such agent, but anything connected with the system of Roman Catholicism, which is clearly, distinctively, and exclusively defined by the Bible as the system of anti-Christ, is working the same works of the Masons, being the works of Satan.

So let us begin by pulling the thread of Erika Kirk:

Erika Kirk, the current CEO of TPUSA, was first brought to the country by Paolo Zampolli. Zampolli is a name that is woven all throughout the history of Epstein, making him an agent of the system of Roman Catholicism and therefore an co- conspirator with Freemasonry, but let us keep focus on those directly involved with TPUSA. Carl Kenneth Frantzve, the grand-parent of Erika, was the leader of the Sigurd Lodge, a Swedish Rite Masonic Lodge in Wisconsin, and the Grand Chief of the Independent Order of Vikings, a Swedish equivalent of American Freemasonry. When Kash Patel ended his speech regarding the assassination of Charlie with “see you in Valhalla”, he was paying homage not to Charlie, but to the same Nordic occult beliefs that form the foundation of the Independent Order of Vikings.

Carl Frantzve also received the honors of “Royal Order of the Polar Star”, one of the highest honors afforded to a Swedish citizen, and was knighted in service to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The emblem of the Order, a white Maltese cross, is frequently pictured on the person of Erika Kirk. Now King Carl XVI Gustaf is the seventh king of the House of Bernadotte. Their Coat of Arms features a Roman fasces along with other like-symbols. Gustaf of the Bernadotte Family, being part of the British Order of the Garter, works for the financial arm of Papal Rome.

The son of Carl and the parent of Erika, Kent Randall Frantzve is a current defense consultant for NASA. The foundation of NASA was a fusion of Scientology and OSS/CIA military intelligence through Ron Hubbard and Jack Parsons of Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The head of the OSS and the brains behind the CIA was William Donovan. He was a Knight of Malta and was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Sylvester, the oldest and most prestigious of papal knighthoods. His allegience was first and foremost to the seat of the Bishop of Rome, just like any other Roman Knight. Anything affiliated with the OSS, the CIA, or NASA, are a product of the system of Roman Catholicism, just like Freemasonry.

Now under the leadership of Erika Kirk, TPUSA is working as the education arm of Rome. TPUSA is funded largely through the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute. The founders of the Heritage Foundation were Paul Weyrich, a Roman Catholic seeking to legislate morality through politics, Edwin Feulner, a Roman Catholic trained and educated in Jesuit Schools, and Joseph Coors, an Evangelical serving as the financial backing to push the ideology of ecumenism to the world. Weyrich and Feulner are both Knights of Malta, with Feulner receiving his Jesuit education from Fordham University. Ecumenism, the idea of having one people with one tongue (spiritual) that speaks the same lies of the serpent, dates back 4,000 years to the ideology of Nimrod when building the Tower of Babel.

The president of the Heritage Foundation, Kevin Roberts, is a member of Opus Dei, another order of Papal Rome. A relatively new order formed in 1928, yet recently given direct protection under the authority of the pope, the function of Opus Dei is to discretely infuse money from the Vatican Bank into their international operations. They were given such authority in 1984 after assuming the lira debt of the Vatican Bank towards the parochial banks within the Ambrosiano group which includes Banca Cattolica del Veneto, Credito Varesino, and Ambrosiano itself. In exchange for these benefactions, John Paul II granted the sect recognition as a "personal prelature". This status ensured that the secret society would answer only to the pope and the pope alone. The only other order with such independence and power is the Jesuit Order.

Now one of the book publishers for TPUSA is HaperCollins, a subsidiary of News Corp. News Corp is owned by the Murdoch family which started with Rupert Murdoch, a Knight of Malta who was awarded with the Order of St. Gregory the Great, a papal knighthood which recognizes, even further than him being a Knight of Malta, his allegience to Papal Rome. Murdoch received his knighthood, which is essentially a reward for a "job well done", for his continuing work in Catholic Action. Catholic Action, which was strengthened by the Papal encyclical Miranda Prorsus in 1957 and the Papal decree Inter Mirifica in 1963, called for the complete control “of the press, the cinema, radio, television, and others of a like nature [...] [of] j ournalists, writers, actors, designers, producers, exhibitors, distributors, operators, sellers, critics - all those, in a word, who are involved in the making and transmission of communications in any way whatever”. The control over all forms of communication was declared as the birthright of Rome and has been done in order to steer “economic, political, and artistic values in a way that will not conflict with the common good". All of Holly-wood, which is named after the Holly wood being the wood used to make the staves of witches, is a form of Jesuit Theatre controlled by the system of Roman Catholicism.

The Heritage Foundation is largely determining the curriculum of TPUSA through people such as Dr. David Azerrad. When looking at the lesson book of TPUSA, we find things such as the “Patriot’s Catechism”, modeled after the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, and “spiritual formation”, one of the key elements of their curriculum, as a carbon-copy of the spiritual exercises of Ignatius of Loyola, the spiritual founder of the Jesuit Order. The word “patriot” when used in this context comes from the word “patri”, which means “father” and is taken from the root word “pater”, a latin term commonly used in reference to the pope. The suffix “-otes” expresses a state of belonging to the prefix, which in the case of the word “patri-ote” is the pope. Erika Kirk, herself educated at the Jesuit-run Regis University, would not only be well-trained as a patri-ote, but also as a well-experienced practicioner of spiritual formation.

There is not a single part of the upper management of TPUSA that is not affiliated with the system of Roman Catholicism in one way or another. Whether through Freemasonry, the Knights of Malta, the Jesuits, or Opus Dei, the entire corporation is purposed to leave people deprived of a personal and prayerful study of the Bible.

Now I think you will find this part particularly interesting considering the topic of this thread: chapter 18 of Project 2025, which is a project of the Heritage Foundation and therefore followed too by TPUSA, on page 589 contains the only reference in the entire document to Sunday legislation. To the occult, the number 360, which is the multiplication of 5x8x9, is a reference to Uroboros, a symbol commonly illustrated as a serpent with a tail in its mouth. Representing the concept of regeneration and rebirth, Uroboros and the numbers totaling to the degrees in a circle (360) are an homage to Satan, for the occult worships Satan for “the rebirth of man as sinners”. Therefore the “legislating of the sabbath (Sunday)” is verily the same as legislating of the morality of Satan. Project 2026 even explicitly calls for Sunday as the default day of rest "to restore the american family life in rhetoric and reality". In order to restore it in reality, then there must be a public admonition of worship. In ancient Roman cities such as Smyrna, this was the tossing of incense and shouting of "Roma Dia", "the day of Rome", which today is represented by Sunday. This is what Charlie began to understand when he prayerfully and earnestly began to study the Sabbath: it is not so much about being a day, although the physical day does indeed matter as that is what God said, but it is more about declaring who is the moral authority in your life. As he began to study, Charlie started to understand that the question of a day is about declaring whether you want to grow in a relationship with the Creator of the seventh-day, or whether you want to be joined to the system of Satan that declares the first day, the "venerable day of the sun", as the mark of their moral authority.
