Britain makes a huge amount of money on Iranian threats to the Strait of Hormuz.
Firstly, Britain controls the Iranian Mullah's... or at least are in partnership with them. The Iranian regime charges $2 Million for every tanker ship "allowed" by Iran to transit the Strait of Hormuz. There were as many as 40 tankers per day making that transit... or $80 Million per day in free income just for Iran issuing threats and charging extortion fees.
Secondly, Lloyds of London jacked up insurance rates for tankers passing through the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz due to the "terrorist threats from Iran". Lloyd’s of London offers war risk insurance for tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, but premiums have surged dramatically due to the escalating conflict.
Before the Iran war, Insurance rates were based on 0.25% of hull value. For a large oil transport ship valued at $138 Million to transit the Strait used to cost $345,000 each way in insurance premiums.
Due to the war, current rates for transiting the strait are around 2.5% of a vessel’s hull value. Lloyds of London wants to charge $3.5 Million for a ship to transit the Strait of Hormuz, on top of the $2 Million that Iran is charging in extortion fees.
ALL of that money goes back to the London banks. Every penny ends up in London.
I put this in Grok and asked for a reality check and got this back:
The $2M Fee (True): Iran’s parliament recently moved to formalize a $2 million "transit toll" per tanker. However, this is a unilateral act of economic warfare by Tehran, not a partnership with Britain. The Insurance Spike (True): Rates have indeed hit 2.5% to 5% (over $3.5M per trip). This isn't a scam; it’s a reflection of the 23+ maritime attacks recorded since March. Insurers aren't "jacking up" rates for profit; they are covering the massive risk of a $138M asset being sunk. The "London Control" (False): The UK and Iran are currently in a state of high hostility. UK bases have been targeted by Iranian drones, and "Red Ensign" ships are being charged the highest premiums because they are primary targets. This isn't a "corrupt system" managed by London; it’s a high-stakes war where global shipping is caught in the crossfire.
Of course London isn't going to make it obvious that they are coordinating with Iran.
I would expect them to be publicly "hostile", while behind closed doors they organize control of the Strait of Hormuz and the insurance rates. There is no danger for London shipping insurers... if they control the only threat in the region and make sure it doesn't affect THEIR insured ships.
All former agreements with the Iranian regime at this point are all but null and void. The mullahs are no longer in control. The IRGC effectively took control with the death of the Ayatollah and new deals will have to be ironed out. Mojtaba Khamenei is basically a figure head to keep the Islamic minority supporters onboard - if he is even alive at this point. If the regime loses what little public support they have, they will be finished. That is why the State media pumps out all the outrageous propaganda. They have to keep those supporters believing the BS for their own survival. So, when Trump says there has been a regime change, that is true. The IRGC have taken complete control and are now calling the shots, not the mullahs.
Command and Control in Iran is fractured and there are many lone regional actors out there. The problem now is who is actually in control and can be negotiated with that can effect change like opening up the Strait. If Trump is negotiating with the "more reasonable" reformists through Pakistan, they have no power to do anything in Iran - they never did. The radical apocalyptic IRGC hardliners prefer to burn it all to the ground rather than surrender. They are all turning on each other suspecting traitors and have threatened to execute anyone caught talking to the Americans. They will eat themselves alive given enough time while they are all jockeying for power.
Then there are all the Shia Iraqi and Afghani mercenaries the IRGC shipped into Iran to control the population because their own security forces have essentially deserted their posts. These rogue forces will be another wild card that could also turn against the regime - especially if they don't get paid. Now we are hearing that some of the weapons sent by the US to arm the Iranian citizens have been hijacked by the Iraqi separatist Kurds. The situation in Iran is definitely a hot mess.
Frankly, I would consider them all hardliners and so do most of the Iranian people. They don't want a deal with any of them. They are all viscous and brutal. The fact that some are called reformers is a joke. In many ways they are worse than the hardliners - they are just more sneaky about it. But make no mistake. They are all cut from the same bolt of cloth.
We are not nuking a city of 10 million people, most of whom vehemently oppose the regime in charge. That would be forever viewed as a hideous act of evil.
Looks like we may be witnessing a repeat of Japan. I was thinking that the other day. We had to literally destroy Japan before they surrendered. I pray it doesn't come to that for the sake of the Iranian people. But at the same time, this regime cannot be given a lifeline or we will have to deal with this situation again, only it could be worse next time.
No deals unless they give up unilateral control over the Strait. They have no real way of protecting it anymore. No country should be allowed to just close that particular water way to begin with. Same with the Panama Canal and all the other narrow passages used for int'l shipping.
The British Empire (City of London Banking/Insurance cartel) will be fighting Trump with everything they have. When a Rothschild puts out on social media “The end is near.” You know they’re about to do something desperate to keep the conflict going, to grab that “Reset” to restart their fake financial system of economic slavery and to cover up their crimes against humanity. But this time Nathaniel Rothschild, your post will ring true. Your time is about to end. NCSWIC
How about making an example of whoever is ion the Straight of Hormuz. We are the strongest armed forces on earth, our hands are no longer tied by the woke freaks. Yes I know the country founded in 1948 seems to be calling the shots but OMG, blow them to kngdom come & back!
They are making an example out of them. The issue is that they can still mount small, sporadic attacks, and oil tankers in a narrow straight are sitting ducks. The most straightforward way is to negotiate a deal. Otherwise they’ll be spending the next year (or more) playing whack-a-mole with small threats as they pop up.
The coastline of Iran makes it so that they can fire missiles and place mines in a way that’s very hard to stop without actually placing troops on the ground to clear the coast. It’s not something we can realistically achieve just by bombing.

This is about smashing that corrupt system.

Three British ships have been sunk since this all started.
wow

Great analysis. The current IRGC leaders are more hardline than the political leaders we just killed.
Thank you.

UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER
THIS IS THE WAY
That was the option Japan was given. They did not take it. Bad choice.

That tweet is doing the work. Crazy mother fucker indeed.

Location and destruction of remaining drones and missiles as a condition. We would be happy to help you with the destruction part.
I doubt that the fanatics will give in over infrastructure demolition...

Any deals that leave the Islamic Republic in place will lead to a massive slaughter.
