alcohol is very useful actually, in the medicine cabinet. You can use it as a disinfectant, and it make excellent mouthwash. And a homestill won't increase drunkenness.
It is far easier to produce many bioactive compounds from biological sources than it would be to synthesize them from raw materials or precursors.

I love this idea, but I also believe that people were actually smarter back then. Folks nowadays have the attention span of a gnat and are just going to end up killing themselves or going blind with bad product. It wouldn't bother me much.

My son started his career as an electrician, so he wired his still to sound an alarm on his phone when the still starts rising in temperature, which is a sign of tails. My other son has trained his wife to do that crucial intervention. Either way works...

Based on the article, I'd say you're right. It feels weird to type this, but it seems like the government is reining itself in.

So far I have: wormwood in an alcohol base, and also kava & licorice in an alcohol base.
Three of my children distill.
The wormwood works on open wounds by the way, I used it in a first aid situation, and the wound healed quickly with no infections at all.

It's been legal to distill at home for personal use since 2024 in WV.
Although I know for a fact it was basically unenforced prior as long as you didn't sell it. Had a neighbor who made some incredible shine.
