IIRC, Rudy was set to advise on RICO actions. ('Hope this wasn't the enemy somehow trying to take him out.)
I have a hard time believing this is a coincidence, though it might be.
Though with how things are going these days, I don't think it is a coincidence.
They're saying he has pneumonia which was worsened by a constrictive airway condition he incurred from breathing in toxic NYC air when he provided assistance near/around the towers post-9/11.

Lord, guide all his healthcare providers to give Mr Giuliani the utmost, most excellent, skilled and expert care that he may recover fully and speedily from what ails him, if this be Your will. Lord, we ask that You protect Mr Giuliani and give him strength to fight through this ordeal, to let his body recover fully and to boost his spirits and those of his closest loved ones who are by his side as he faces this latest challenge.
Father, please remind Mr Giuliani in his heart that millions of Americans are praying for his recovery, that we admire and respect him for all the good he's done for New York City and for the country as a warrior against the darkness which is always trying to devour the world. He's 81 years old, for Pete's sake. I'm younger and have had two trips to the ER in the past year. No lurkers in the darkness for me, just old age and maladies. Plenty of my high school classmates have already passed on. God calls us all at His choice of time.
Agreed, the timing is just interesting at the very least.
That said, I can't imagine that Rudy didn't teach any of his children the basics of what he knew & how to proceed against corruption.
