It makes sense. Every item "gifted" by China might have a tracker embedded in it.
Do you really want the presidential plane to have a built-in GPS beacon giving China it's precise location and speed?
When they get back to the U.S., the items can be removed from the bags, examined and enjoyed after proving that they don't contain trackers or listening devices.
Never while in China use your own personal devices - ever. Use a burner phone. Besides, most US apps don't work in China and you are forced to use Chinese apps for pretty much everything so the CCP can monitor you.
People - even billionaires, millionaires, and tech/business icons and others on the trip - can be dumb and do stupid things. Betting one or more person(s) was(/were) able to sneek something onboard. Just hope they have a safe trip and whatever may have been sneeked along won't be harmful at some point.
NYP Reporter: Prior to boarding Air Force One to depart Beijing, the entire U.S. delegation disposed of every item provided to them by their Chinese hosts. Gifts, badges, pins, and commemorative items were all dumped into a trash bin on site. The directive was absolute, no item of Chinese origin was permitted to board the aircraft. The precautions extended beyond the departure itself. Delegation members had left all personal electronic devices at home before traveling to China and operated exclusively on clean burner phones throughout the duration of the trip.
No way would they allow a "gift" from a nation that spies and tries to control everything. Anyone remember the gift from the children of the Soviet Union that ended up being a spy device that went undetected for seven years?!

The ones in the faraday bags were the ones they brought with them and left on the plane to prevent hacking. Burners were used while there.
I have one underneath my seat in the jeep. Wife always wants to know why I don’t answer 😂😂😂
The ONLY thang you tell her is:
"I'm sitting here contemplating my next dump!!!!!....AND THEN:
SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU'RE HEAD!!!!!!
But it sure is funny with the expressions to her face change....
P.S. I know from experience for being cute with the wifey!!!!!

I that probably happens on every trip to other countries.
They should throw everything in the trash.
Smart move. I hope those items are analyzed.
I was thinking the same thing. What can learn from their sneaky spy devices? Thats some very valuable stuff there.

Well that was a good thing We don't want anything on AF1 taking out our favorite President

I like putting my phone in a faraday bag at night. I use a mission darkness
Very, very wise. Wouldn’t the Chinese and many others want to overhear the discussions on the return trip.
Cool.
The US delegation should have left all of it in China,
OUCH !!!
I'm SO proud of this. MAGA. Thanks but no thanks.
