🚨 WTF?! President Trump just revealed he PARDONED a man who was sentenced to SEVEN YEARS in federal prison for fixing his OWN truck or tractor
"The Democrats have a restriction that if you get caught fixing your tractor, they bring you to JAIL. Did you know that?!"
"I pardoned a man last week who was sentenced to SEVEN YEARS in jail because he got caught fixing his car or truck."
"I said, 'what did he do?' 'He was fixing his truck!'
I said, 'how long is he getting? '7 years'
I said, 'say it again!' It's the first time I've ever heard it...
I gave him a pardon because he had to go to JAIL because he was fixing HIS tractor or his truck. So I promise.. if you ever get caught fixing your tractor or truck, I will give you a pardon, OK?"
I admire the man that would repair his own equipment and make it run efficiently and economically. The EPA is not interested in any of that. Only stopping black smoke from the tail pipe. (Ewwww!) This is to appease blue haired women and climate freaks.
Try tuning your diesel pick-up to get better mileage and eliminate excess weight, Can't register it because of SMOG!!!!!
Good job DJT.
DEF does no such thing. SCR lowers fuel economy, power, and needs constant repair because urea corrodes anything that isn't plastic (sensors, injectors, pumps, seals, dpfs, etc). The amount spent on this regulatory idiocy is huge.
The NOx reduction it provides as a benefit is based on a theoretical model. The model goes like this: "NOx and ozone cause respiratory problems in mice when they are given exaggerated doses, assuming no safe dose and a linear response means not having it will keep you healthy and save billions in healthcare"
We have had mandatory SCR for about 15 years, now. Its 'estimated' that billions of healthcare cost have been saved based on the model - but there is no actual proof. They've never gone back and used proper ratios of exposure on mice. Its just assumed, by the model's math, that its helping in enough dollars to offset the cost.
I would offer that what you are claiming as 'making diesel tolerable' is, in fact, the DPF, which traps soot and other particulates and not the SCR.
The only downside of repairing your new tractor is gaining access to the proprietary software. If you have a bootlegged copy you might get into trouble. But why should a tractor repair have anything to do with a computer? Just make a tractor that has manual switches, knobs, or other accouterments that dont need a computer to reset? Oh, wait, because they are selling their tractors for cost so they need some way to gain revenue. Jerks.
I used to be a farmer. The cost of equipment to be able to farm is ridiculous!! The computerized crap is no different than in vehicles. It’s built to brake so you have to go through dealership to have it fixed. The techs have to go to school to learn the computer lingo to fix. The older models that could be fixed using hand tools were so much more reliable and easy to fix. It’s a money racket that drives up the cost of production, the costs the consumer.
They want to control what everyone does, which we all know already. These tractors are designed/programmed to operate without a farmer. Farmers are still allowed because the system is not fully ready, but close.
Who wants to bet the idiots at Microsoft will pick up on this and push for their own law prohibiting people from changing Windows? Stuff like removing their awful changes to the start menu and replacing it with something like StartAllBack, or use something like Win11Debloat to remove telemetry and bloatware, or Winaero Tweaker to tweak a bunch of settings without touching the registry. I could see Apple doing this as well.
That law was idiotic and could easily open Pandora's Box...
Or maybe open the door for other companies to offer old style products that we are able to repair ourselves. I miss the old days when you could work on your own car. Like just put a new carb on that bad boy and run it lol. Now its hard to pull off backyard mechanics.
Love the “readers note” on the tweet, obviously left by some parasitic scumbag public servant who believes that the government should have the right to jail people for working on their own property.
99.9% of their regulations are designed to steal money from us. They have zero to do with any environmental concerns, most of these regulations are even written by corporate lobbyists to protect their profits.
Cut the red tape. Fire the bureaucrats. Make lobbying illegal.
I remember reading how some equipment used in planting and harvesting uses GPS and is controlled by a computer---not even needing a person inside the cabin. If that is true then they are making this equipment where they can shut it down whenever they want to!

He slipped in there he canceled DEF. Gotta find a source for that.
I hope that doesn't happen. DEF fluid is the only thing keeping the diesel exhaust tolerable.

Exactly like household appliances. Plastic gears controlled by chips. I am buying my 3rd refrigerator in the space of about 7 years. (Never buy LG).
What if you disassemble it into assorted parts, then build back what you need into your own tractor?
Is there a restriction on not putting a bunch of random parts together how you want them?

This might open the door for right to repair to pick up momentum across all industries.

Farmer on his knees, tool in hand, attempting to undo some bolts on his tractor chassis...
State Law shows up: "Put down the wrench. Put. it. down. We have you surrounded."

Maybe farm without farmers.
I know of many diesel truck owners who have deleted their emission systems. No more DEF.
