We should not 'blindly' trust anyone, but go in with eyes well open. It's important to be informed and apply reasoning, critical thinking and then reach conclusions or opinions this way.
But as I have done in the past, I want to question the whole concept of 'trust'. I mean, what kind of trust are you/we talking about? Do you trust [N] to babysit your kids? Do you trust them with your money?
I think by 'trust' here you actually mean 'assign a credibility to' or something, because in reality, the 'trusting' part isn't substantial. And, as far as any government official or organization is concerned, trust should not be equated with 'no need to have oversight or to hold accountable'. That is the fundamental responsibility of citizens in a nation where the government is the servant of the people it serves.

IMO, there won't be any big fireworks or arrests until after the 4th of July and whenever the World Cup ends (which is July 19). Well, there will be some literal big fireworks on the 4th, but otherwise....
